    LMAO @ Adrienne. “Buy it so I can use it.” 😂😂 But personally I think $65 is too much for a 9YO not to mention that’s too young. I’m assuming this is used for playing. 9xs out of 10 she won’t value it and like Adrienne said...I would most likely be the one using it anyway.

      You don't have to spend an 🙋 and a leg to buy 💄! These products on RUclips are usually the most expensive ones. If you're going to buy 💄 products, it's always best to start slow

      A friend of mine does this kind of crap for her daughter who is that young. Sad thing is her girls are better at makeup than I am! That being said I have seen the pallets that are $60+ after her 9 year old uses it and all the colors look gouged out! Just huge chunks missing after one use! Never!

      If it's her christmas money she can do whatever she want with it, but to be honest as an adult I'd never pay $65 or even $20 for a Morphe Palette. The quality of that brand is crap, the colors are pretty, there are many shades per palette but the pigmentation is not consistent, and they are very powdery so the fallout is terrible. I think it's only popular because youtubers are paid to promote it non-stop on their channel. If you have money to spend buy an Urban Decay palette.

      Independence In Mind The Thirty Journey when you give a child that young some money, the purpose is to teach them how to use it responsibly. So no, it's not her money and she can do whatever she wants with it. Plus, I don't believe in buying little kids expensive products, because to them it's just a toy, and they won't appreciate the value. That how you get spoiled kids.

    I agree with Tam's mother, wait until your sense of self is solid before doing transformative things to your natural self. When/if I have a daughter, she won't be allowed to do things like wear full face make up, get sew ins, and whatnot until she's about at 10th grade and up. Middle school is literally where your peers break you down and rip you apart. It's when most children first begin to develop insecurities. I don't want my baby ruining her curls and covering up her face, contouring her nose etc...at such a pivotal time due to peer pressure and/or self hate. When she wears make up or changes her hair texture, it should be because that's her mood that day. Not because she feels ugly without it.

I wasn’t raised to even be interested in make up because my mom doesn’t wear it so I don’t know a thing about it 😂 I started to feel late to the party cause most girls was beating they face by 17 and I’m 22 now still not knowing, but that’s okay. My confidence is pretty solid because I’ve been natural all through the worst parts of my teens and I appreciate my own beauty. I just want to clear my skin up and then I’ll eventually take my behind to Ulta or Sephora for a consultation 😂 I’ll ease my way into make up

We lived on a main street with a train station...and we knew at what time she would come home and would look outside the window...and everytime when we saw her with a bag from mc donalds we were the happiest kids ever. But we didn't get it all the time.
      I think materialistic kids existed even before...I guess what changed is that they have nowadays way more stuff they can pick. And due to technology a lot of stuff changed as well.

If she was upset because she wanted the makeup, then i agree to get CVS makeup until she is old enough to understand the value of product makeup. But like Tam said, teach her to enjoy her NATURAL beauty first. 😃💓

  • @hkgrl1991
    @hkgrl1991 5 лет назад +13

    I agree with everything Tam and Adrienne just said!! I am a professional MUA. Always had a love for makeup but my mother was exactly like Tamera’s and I wasn’t allowed to wear it until my junior year of high school. If my child had that passion I would honor it. I would teach her the importance of natural beauty so she never felt it was necessary but I would let her play and experiment with it in the house because like Adrienne said it is an art. The canvas just happens to be a face. Now when it comes to the $65 palette, understand she doesn’t want it because it’s expensive but because it’s James Charles. He has like over 4 million RUclips followers, majority of them being young girls. She just wanted something from a RUclipsr she admired so in that case I would of let her use her money for that palette. It doesn’t have to be a every time thing. Plus, morphe really is a inexpensive brand. That palette just happens to be pricy.

    I disagree so much right now. It’s the kids money. Don’t give a child money if you’re not gonna let them spend it on what they want. Also drug store makeup is great BUT no eyeshadow palette can compare to high end palette (if you have tried both you notice the difference). Now I will say that since the child is 9 years old maybe the choice of substituting this palette for a drug store palette should be given to her so she can express her creativity and practice. Lastly I would like to say that just because a child wants to play around with makeup does not mean they don’t love themselves or don’t feel beautiful or don’t appreciate who they are. makeup is so much more than just to make yourself look better, it’s an art. And James Charles perfect role model to show that and palette is THE perfect palette to show that as well “unleash your inner artist”

    I agree that getting really expensive makeup for kids in not necessary, however the pallet is $39 and you get A LOT of shades to play with. The quote for the pallet is "Release your inner artist" which I think is exactly what a child, teenager or adult needs.The pallet is amazing and I think it's perfect for any age range.

    I grew up wearing make up since I was 8yrs old. I was severely bullied growing up, in every school until I graduated high school. I agree with loni, at 9 yrs old other girls were not wearing make up at my age. I wish my mom had a talk with me and told me that I was beautiful and that there was nothing wrong with me- I’m still grateful she tried her best, I was pretty self destructive.
    I agree with Tam, I use to watch my mom put on her make up and make herself “pretty” but to be honest, I thought my mom was BEAUTIFUL, with or without makeup. I just wish my mom would have thought the same about herself.
    BECAUSE CHILDREN LEARN FROM WHAT THEY SEE, NOT WHAT THEY ARE TOLD.
    I feel like if my mom or all moms knew how to FEEL beautiful instead of trying to LOOK BEAUTIFUL , a lot of little girls will be able to love themselves easier in this world that will teach you to hate yourself, before they sell you the remedy to love yourself.
    Isn’t it just easier to love yourself and also raising your children to love themselves too.
    Also! Its never too late. I am actively/consciously/optimistically training myself to love myself, accept myself, and celebrate myself, so when I have children (boy or girl) I will show them what they have to be PROUD OF.
    LOVE YOURSELVES INFRONT OF ANYONE LADIES, YOU DONT KNOW WHO YOURE INFULENCING! Women are changing the world left and right. It is so true that in a world like this, it is a rebellious act to love yourself- make sure to love yourself in-front of your children so they SEE and FEEL what true self esteem is, not “what their parents think it should be”. Be an example ❤️ celebrate yourselves ❤️❤️💖💖💖❤️💖❤️💖❤️

    I started wearing heavy and rouge makeup since freshman year of high school. Makeup is a form of art but it’s also a way to clog your pores, get pimples, get acne, and can dry your skin out making it more sensitive. I’ve worn a full face from Collection Foundation and Smokey eyes to blinding highlighters. I went cakey on my face but it really did a lot of damage on my skin so I took a LONG break from it and it was beneficial as I had more time on my skin care routine and I had more money in my wallet. At first used a lot of drugstore makeup as I was cheap but later I started saving up. I told myself “If you save up enough then you can get the kilowatt highlighters and creaseless concealer and NARS” I did but tbh taking that break had its ups and downs one struggle being that I couldn’t use it to express myself.

    I dont think it's a big deal. It's a way to express yourself. I let my 11 year old wear some very natural makeup for special occasions. I think this idea for little girls is that it's just fun, and sparkly. Of all the things we tell the kids not to do- this is relatively harmless. However, when i say makeup i mean like a glittery highlight and a little gloss. The full beat is too much for going out, IMO. Let them play though... and FYI Morphe is cheap lol, 65$ for a full palette like that, which will last forever. It is the same as drug store pricing, but since theres more colors it's a bit more, like buying in bulk. My 11 year old isn't allowed to watch YT videos though. Shes not asking for any specific things. She just sees me and thinks it's fun. The make up I personally gave her us stuff I bought for myself but didnt end up using for whatever reason, so it's high end, but only I know that. I dont want her attached or brands or labels.

    Children grow up so fast nowadays! You walk into a middle school and it looks like a high school. You walk into a high school and the girls look like grown women. I couldn’t really wear makeup until I was sixteen. Even then, I was only allowed eye shadow, mascara, and a clear lip gloss.

  • @cocosap7522
    @cocosap7522 5 лет назад +1

    I honestly don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I would understand if it was foundation or concealer, since it’s designed to blend in your face and even up your skin tone, but it’s eyeshadow. Eyeshadows have always been the more creative side of makeup and allowing for the person to do creative looks on your eyelids. There is an easy compromise. Your child could just wear the eyeshadow in the house and not wear it to school or outdoors. I understand the price point being a bit much, but I also believe the child has to be a fan of James Charles. The product is very niche and for the child to really want that is because she really likes him the creator. If the mom would buy some other drugstore product, it wouldn’t be the same for the child. Either way, I personally think that child should have been allowed to buy the eyeshadow palette and the parent should just make sure to establish rules about when it’s appropriate to use it.

For dress up and special occasions we will play with some enhancements (makeup) and hair weaves. I make it VERY clear to my girls this is just for fun but you are ALWAYS naturally beautiful. When they are grown women, they can wear it as much or as little as they want. Because of the way they were raised, I'm doubtful makeup will play a huge factor in their lives❤️

    I would get my daughter that palette. I would encourage her at no matter what age to express herself as she wants. I’m almost fourteen ... and I started to do make up at nine. Glittery shadows, mascara (regular), and lip gloss (with the accessional pink/nude lipstick). My mom let me have all the makeup she didn’t use for myself. To this day I still have the makeup she gave me (I don’t use them anymore) in perfect condition. That means that the first makeup I received were designer. All the makeup I’ve gotten since then have been drugstore makeup (Wet n’ Wild my fav) that’s been bought with my own money. I do however have ONE other eyeshadow palette that is a limited edition Tarte pallet I got a year and a half ago (when I was TWELVE). My mom loved seeing my try different colors and experimenting with colors to find something that fits me ( though she still hates the way I do my eyebrows).
    Many people say that with little kids, makeup is for play, but like they said it is also an art form. I grew up watching people transform themselves with makeup and I became something I wanted to do. And they say that kids sometimes wear makeup to make themselves look older well.... I wore makeup to look younger ( when I first started). I was an early bloomer, so naturally I got taller faster and filled out before the other girls in my grade. I wanted something to distract from that. Now that I’m older it’s not much of a problem.
    Now some people will look at what I wrote and say that I probably don’t appreciate my natural beauty. I do. My mom taught me way before I started wearing makeup, to appreciate the way I look and to not let anyone tell me otherwise.
    If that little girl is really passionate about getting that pallet and to do makeup then I say let her buy it.

That girl has probably been watching james’ videos and salivating over that damn palette and finally on Christmas she realizes that she has enough to buy it but she’s told to get the wet n wild because it’s cheaper. Okay, but here’s my opinion. Teaching a child that they have to save and be smart with money is important. If she “saved” her money and that’s what she wants, why is that an issue? Yes I get the concept, but ask her WHY she wants it and WHY she thinks it’s worth the money.
    That’s what I would do.

    I do think that if it's her money then she should do what she wants with it. My dad was that way with us and when it came time when we actually needed something (like pens or pencils for school, or paper) or wanted something my dad wouldn't buy it for us. He would say "you had the money but you spent it on something frivolous and now you need this and dont have the money for it. If you dont have enough to get what you want and what you need then you dont have enough for what you want. Be smarter with your money and you'll have some to have fun with". It was a learning lesson that I do with my children as well. Most dont agree because they think parents are suppose to buy whatever their child desires but that's not true. We are to provided food, water, shelter, clothes/shoes (doesnt have to be expensive either. it can come from the goodwill) and that's it. Everything else are privileges. I dont agree with children wearing makeup at all but I do agree that it's her money.
