River Song I don't either, because I break out. thankfully I'm pretty pale with dark hair, so I don't need mascara, and when I blush it takes the job of makeup blush and my skin is okay, so I don't need to really wear anything. I'm happy the way I am:-)

Alissa Fulkerson I find with sephora you really have to be specific and picky to get the help you actually need, they've upped their commission since a couple years ago so they're pretty hovery now. But if you know what you want, ask for that one specific thing, and make it clear that if they don't have it, you're not interested in anything else. If you seem like you know what you're doing or what you want in a product the staff can be super helpful

Chloe Barbour To be fair, a lot of them are pricey just because they're well known brands. There's also a lot of make up that's affordable and works well, just takes some time to find it. (Not talking $1 stuff, though)

The Sephora in JC Penny's at Valley View Mall has amazing service! I had just turned twelve and git a $25.00 gift card for my birthday, and I really needed something that was kind of a cross between BB Cream and full-on foundation. I have SUPER pale skin, and I told them I've always had issues with the foundation being too orange or looking yellow. They did some color matching, asked me and my mom about my budget, and within ten minutes, found a perfect match that was exactly what I was looking for. It was Sephora's foundation in their palest shade, and it was just $20.00. And they sent me home with a decent-sized sample of another brand! It was really one of the best service experiences I've ever had, to be honest! 👏👏👏

I love makeup but I hate going into Sephora because I feel like they are judging me so hard when I ask for help. And then I feel bad when they offer me a product and I say no because it's like 40 bucks.
Lauren Grzeczka Lol watch RUclips videos and write a list of things you potentially want to buy. That way you don't go in there lost and you already know the prices. Also if they try to get you to buy the product ask for a sample so it seems like you're actually interested in the product even though you may not can afford it right there.
Lol, my sephora is actually different. If I ask for help, they will ask about my brand preference, what product is good for me in the present, and what is my price range. And if I say, I can't afford expensive makeup, they be like "Got ya gurl, we all been there, and we know what's the best for you." They show me the cheaper products that are good, and sometimes they tell me about some drugstore brand that are good too.

i like buying expensive makeup because it means i wont buy a lot so i wont become a hoarder...like an eyeshadow thats only 5 bucks, ill get 10 of them, so in the end i still spend a lot and i dont end up using most of the things i bought for a "good deal"

I normally wear makeup everyday, but once on a road trip I ran out of foundation and of course I'm not gonna wear makeup just to sit in a car all day so I went into the store bare face acne and all. The way the employees ignored me was insulting, I could obviously see them judging me and no one offered help until they noticed I had a $40 bottle of foundation in my hands. Whenever I had been in before I always had a full face of makeup on and it's disappointing how they treat you so differently without it. I'm sorry you also experienced a similar situation, some employees just don't know how to treat people.

I went to sephora once, the atmosphere was yelling "THIS IS NOT WHERE YOU BELONG" and I looked at the price of foundation, said nope and leaved.

I never wore any up until I turned 15, my parents suggested that I look indecent without it so they bought me some but even now I don't wear it every day and still think I'm fine as I am (I'm 18 now)
In my country school doesn't allow girls to put on makeup so we never bother to do so during school days.
I don't wear makeup until I'm in college and because I'm in an engineering college which consist mostly of boys and girls who don't really care about fashion and things I only put BB cream and lip tint everyday.
So... I'm now 20 and makeup is still foreign to me XD
