- The Slaws are nearly back to Calais after their holiday in the south of France. Last night they stayed at Camping Lac d’Orient in their Hobby motorhome Helga just east of Troyes. Mrs Slaw continues to get the pronunciation quite wrong! It’s pronounced trrrwaa 🤣 @HobbyCaravan

The Slaws spend the morning on the shores of the lake. Slaw takes some cracking drone footage of the lake! Their Lhasa Apso dogs Billy & Jessie enjoy a paddle and a run around the shore.
Soon it’s time to go ‘On the road again’ in the words of Willie Nelson.
The Slaws arrive at Chateau du Gandspette near St Omer in the village of Eperleques. A beautiful little campsite just 30 minutes from Calais. They are warmly greeted (off camera) by subscribers Clive and Julie from their home territory of Yorkshire who are just heading out for their holiday.
They have a lovely meal in the restaurant, three courses for €20!
The campsite is ACSI and with taxes costs €24.80 with ehu.
The evening is grandly finished off with drinks with Clive and Julie. Have a great holiday you two!
Stay tuned for the final vlog of this trip. Photos and drone footage of the Chateau grounds and the tunnel back to Blighty.

Love your videos & makes me yearn for France - just wish the ‘wife beater’ comment wasn’t used as was a bit close to home for me 🥲🥲🥲🥲
Thank you Helen and I apologise for Slaw’s comment xx
I'm glad you were recognised over there. And that meal looked amazing. Keep well and I hope you go away again soon 😊👍👌

That’s a great site by the chateau id be tempted by the pool!
Great price too for the wine! Neither of you looks too bad for your two week carb fest. Brilliant holiday and we both look forward to saying good morning to you guys one day. We say it in the van now and wagons role!we will have to practice our On y va as we’ve always said nous allons ! Hope you filmed the tunnel, I’m terrified of my first time in it or the ferry. We have driven into both in the car but not the motorhome 😬 take care guys and great video as always, enjoyed the drone footage too!
It’s a cracking site Ian! Hopefully our paths will cross one day 🍻 ‘On y va’ is let’s go! Rather than ‘nous allons’ we go. Have we converted you to ‘have a banana’ yet 🤣
Great to see you again……have taken note of your St Omer Campsite as we’ve been looking for one in that direction. Thank you.
Thanks Isobel!
Watched all the videos following your adventure to the south of France and back and loved all of them. Safe trip home , dont worry over getting fuel in the uk on your return it was panic buying as usual. Peter
Thanks Peter!
Thanks for this session, was feeling left out to dry. Drones shots fun!
Well off we go on 23/10 but 22/10 if she allows. To Caen, and 5 weeks of fun. Includes ferry to Majorca to pick up the apartment bits to be kept. The autumnal sun of spain is feeling fun already.
Have a fantastic trip Tony! 🚍
Hello Simon and Ann, we have been trying to add a comment since after Gandspette, but Clives log in wouldn’t allow it (?), so using my new RUclips one . To all of the people following this France sequence, we used Simon and Ann’s guide as our check list to set off ourselves, and it was invaluable, they simplified it and gave us confidence to have a go, we have been to France many times, but the Covid situation, with regards to a lapse in going, and the paperwork situation made us cautious, but the ‘Slaws’ guidance, made us think ‘s*d it’ we are going, so from deciding to and actually going was 4 days. We met Simon and Ann on our first night in France and their last. We are still here with 10 days to go, all thanks to ‘The Slaws’ ! Simon and Ann are a lovely couple ( but they are from Gods own country) and good fun. Talking to them and watching them, made us realise how much time and effort goes into their blog site, so we all should thank them for their efforts. Hope you stay well and happy camping, Clive and Julie. Ps we will be marketing the ‘ We met the Slaws ‘ tee shirts soon 😂🤣
Awww! That’s lovely! Thank you Julie. Hope you and Clive are having a great trip. It was really great to meet you xx
Fantastic site at the chateau, we have stayed there many times, with more time, you should visit the huge V2 bunker site just around the corner, the chateaux restaurant offers good value , a place we will be visiting next year
We’d love to spend more time in this area. It was our first time. Hopefully not our last 🥰
@@mrsslaw9242 Just up the road is Belle Anise , not such a good campsite but a far better restaurant ,another in chateau grounds
That meal was a bargain, but you are nearer the Channel and prices are generally less than the Med coast.
The weather looked good too at that nice site.
Vous serez bientôt de retour à Blighty.
Thanks Harry! It was very good value for money. Perfect for Yorkshire folk 👍🏻
Loving your videos what’s the french music playing in the background please I love it
Thank you! The music is Parisian Cafe RUclips free music 👍🏻
So far I don’t think you’ve mentioned where you are taking the dogs to a vet
We did it in Gassin near Port Grimaud. I think I briefly mentioned it in the Saint-Tropez vlog, that I’d booked an appointment for the Tuesday, four days before our tunnel home.
@@mrsslaw9242 ah thanks, lovely Gassin with the very bendy road up to the village. I remember many boozy evenings and meals up there back in the 1960s!
@@mrsslaw9242 having looked at Google maps you probably used the vet near the main road, I don’t think the road up to Gassin itself is suitable for a motorhome!
You forgot the ice cream
No ice cream Roger 😱
Hiya Mr & Mrs Slaw. Question please. Does your HUD simply plug into your OBD2 socket. Do motorhomes require a special HUD or would any normal car HUD work. Love watching your vids.
Hi Keith. Yes it just plugs into the obd port and it’s just a standard hud from Amazon.
Good morning....we are hoping to travel through france this summer and i know Mrs Slaw loves a good map and itinerary...can you let me know if you used a guide on Aires? Ive got my sticky labels at the ready...thank you.
we have followed you throughout your adventures in France ,what make is hud please
Hi Nigel it doesn't say a make but I bought it on Amazon.
@@TheSlawsAdventures thank you I will look
did you do a blog about your last trip heading to the tunnel, enjoyed your trip very much.
Thanks Keith. We did. We did a planning vlog and one showing it in practice. Just scroll back and you’ll find them 👍🏻
😜👍
Thanks Mick!
Have you tried Bal Parc ? about 40 minute drive to the Eurotunnel.
We haven’t Richie. Thanks for the tip 👍🏻
Stella in the UK is 'created' in the UK to a lower ABV. Stella in EU is better and stronger
Carling is much better
I remember a day in Porlezza on Lago Lugano. We were on push bikes (no ebikes then) We ordered two Heineken thinking they’d be driving beers. Nope! A lot stronger! An interesting cycle ride back to camp 🤪
