You are awesome my dude! I had been panicking for about 3 hours because I could not get my Xbox to turn back on. It would load to the Xbox logo screen and then just be perpetually black. I tried following some troubleshooting guides to try and get the Xbox to boot in low-rez mode but it never worked and the system just powered off after holding the power and eject button. Powering on the system and holding the sync button got me to that troubleshooting screen and I was able to do the first option and re-set up my Xbox and I"m back up and running! My xbox series x does black screen frequently and I was hoping to find a fix for that. In my case and atleast one other reddit user, something happens when going from home to game or vice versa. For me I just have to blindly go home and back to game several times to get the one I'm trying to get back to. I assume many of you might be experiencing this issue and not need to reset at all.
If anyone is experiencing the same or found a solution to what I'm describing please reply. It's extremely annoying and think it's on Microsofts end to fix this issue with a update.

i tried just pressing continue, didnt work then i tried resetting everything and it still brought me back to the trouble shoot menu, does anyone esle any other solutions or am i just screwed?
i did this but now whenever i go to the home screen and return to my game it goes black for a few seconds and stops spotify music during those few seconds any idea on how to fix it

What I can figure the problem is is that the home screen is failing to load which gives you the black screen. No idea why it happens but I left it for a hour one day and came back to that error message..
Doesn’t work. I had even tried offline update and just about everything else except deleted everything from the console. I’ve actual hundreds if not a thousand hours of data that just didn’t save to the network and is in there. Idk why it didn’t but it did

After a factory reset, my xbox one (original) got a black screen. I tried the button presses - getting it into safe mode but I didn't get the menu. The screen was still black. Any thoughts?

Are you talking about how your Xbox will randomly cut to either a black screen or a static screen while watching content or playing games? If so, I have the same issue with my Series X and I sent it into Microsoft so that they could fix it about two months ago but that issue still happens every now and then. Not as often as it used to, but the problem hasn’t gone away.

@@EliteGetBack No. I'm sending my Xbox back to Microsoft today and I'm going to contact them and see if they can replace mine with a new model since they never fixed mine the last time I sent it in and because the problem keeps happening.

Hi my Xbox series x turns on and it’s not registering to the tv. Try to turn the Xbox off but won’t turn off until you hold it for 10 seconds. Ive unplugged the console when it was off I’ve waited then started it back up and it was fine then it did it again. The Xbox seems to be getting hot when it’s not on. Can anyone help me please?

bro i pressed the keep my games and apps but then that disappeared and now it just shows delete everything so when i press that and it deletes everything can i reinstalled everything back and everything will still be their in the games or will i have to start all over on all the games???
It should all saved through cloud gaming since you have online services. If it’s anything like transferring data, some stuff might get messed up

For me when I got it I did these steps but still black screen. I can tell I could still move around the options so I luckily still had the xbox setup for remote play. Launched it on my phone. Turns out it kept loading up Apex as the first thing before xbox menu somehow? Had to delete the game then simple restart the xbox and it booted up fine. Hope this helps anyone ✌️
How did you delete the game if the screen was black?
@@RR_85 used remote play on my phone. Remote play shows your console screen on your phone. Connected the xbox remote to the phone and deleted it from there.
If only I could get the safe mode screen to stay on. Got an update last night, after update xbox stays on black screen. I can get into safe mode, but after about 2 seconds before I can even navigate with my controller, my xbox powers itself off. I can't even get to the reset screen.

@dollabillwalker4689 I have a dual controller charger, so I never have to plug it in, but I still had my old play and charge kit, I connected my controller via USB to my xbox, and it stayed powered on I guess. Was able to factory reset without deleting games and apps. The trick is getting the controller to stay on I guess, when I was wireless, every time my controller would connect is when the system would power down. Don't know why that made a difference but it did.

Dude. I literally just got this console today, had everything set up and was downloading games. A storm came through and knocked the power out for a quick second. So i booted up the console, it showed the logo and black screen. Nothing worked. I tried literally everything, even restarting the tv. Didnt even get a chance to play anything🤣🤣 back to amazon it goes.

There is a difference between getting a black screen and the actual “black screen of death.”
My Xbox doesn’t display in low-resolution mode or safe mode, even after the “remove everything” reset.
THAT is a black screen of death, not just a black screen.

@@gamergiganticfilms6852 I have tried multiple monitors and HDMI cables. I’ve tried everything I could find online and through Microsoft. That’s my point. There’s a difference in just getting a black screen, which can be fixed, and the actual “Black Screen of Death,” which means the console is no longer viable.

@@blakemincey7525 I ended up having to send mine off for repairs, and my warranty had expired, so it was like $300.

Hard reset, or “factory reset”, on tv worked for me

There are several other routes to go than doing this. Plus this does not work for everyone.

Might not be y’all Xbox might be y’all tvs. If you did this and still see no results then it’s your tv. Plug it out the wall give it 10 to 20 seconds and plug it back in
The problem of the black screen can easily be fixed reset your 4k tv to restart problem solved...
BTW your accounts stay over all it just goes away from your xbox you can just put it back on
The update on 10/18/2023 caused my capture drive to die and that was the main cause of the black screen
Once I removed the drive the Xbox worked fine when I tried to plug hard drive back in same problem. Then i checked drive on laptop and PC both not working but it caused an older blank drive on PC to disappear. I also have another drive hooked up for Xbox one games. I'd say if you have an external drive unplug and see first buy just restart console with it unhooked
I did a hard reset also but my main problem was capture drive that no longer works 5tb Seagate , don't recommend

Fail. That's not fixing anything dude. It's formatting it, and eventually this very same issue will happen again. You are not helping at all, and this is poor advice that lacks merit and has absolutely no resolve to it at all, period.

Return it and get a PS5. Microsoft dropped the ball and made cheap crap consoles
I found that unplugging the Xbox for 20 seconds will work, also.
don’t do that it ruins the system and makes it wear out faster
