    Hi Tameka!!!
I recently came out of a similar situation at my job. The position was massive and I reported to the Executive director. Plus the only person of color.....long story short I almost had a stroke and a heart attack. Finally spoke to HR after almost 2 years of abuse and let the position go. By the grace of God, I began to heal and went back to an old position week later.

I just quit my job of 16 years because I was just a number or cog in the system(ramp agent). I worked for a major airline, and now I'm working as a human resource generalist. I had my bs in business with Hrm and now my MBA and will be taking shrm hopefully late this year. I need to reset 😩 finish crying in the shower, giving up my free flights, and taking a 20k pay cut 😔 😟. BUT MY PEACE OF MIND AND WORKLIFE BALANCE is intangible, babyyyyy! 30 minutes on streets vs. 90 minutes on highway. I have my own office, and I can set policies and procedures, lol. I'm moving up in this HR world, and soon I'm gonna apply for management once I pass the shrm. I have precious business management and retail management experience. I only wish I had negotiated better but next time I got it 👍

See you learned a couple of lessons - you learned to negotiate and value your worth and you learned that sometimes you have to leave that company to find your peace. I will say that it's not always a requirement to take a pay cut. Negotiate and create a job search strategy where you target the right salary so you can avoid ever taking a pay decrease again. You'll find this blog that I created helpful: heyyyhr.com/the-best-way-to-determine-your-salary-range/

I finally transitioned into HR 6 months ago and I’m having a terrible experience with my director and leadership. I was hired as an HR Associate to do generalist work but my director hasn’t given me much work. I’m more of her assistant doing tasks that she doesn’t wanna do.

Thanks for the videoTamika! It came right on time. I am in my 1st HR roll as a coordinator and it is exhausting. 😥 I have a great manager but the company has soooo many problems. I am struggling because I am use to being myself. The happy go lucky girl that enjoy to see others smile and happy. Not at this company! But thank you for encouraging me and giving info that I can use!! 😁😁

I was excited to start a job but I've been paired with a manager I directly report to that doesn't appear to have the respect of the office and tries to project her insecurities on me. She infantlizes me, tells me "I'm not ready" to present, puts a lot of her workload on me because she's "busy,' and is not very professional in how she communicates. One of the latest annoyances is she put her feet up on my desk! I asked her to remove them, politely I might add. How I'm dealing with it is showcasing my talents to the people that matter and avoiding going to her for things unless it requires her sign off or a heads up. It sucks

Brilliant video. I've been trying to transition into HR with my company, but last year I worked two jobs. One job was at a very small organisation, and I could only stay there a few months. My manager was really disrespectful to me for really small things and after a few instances of it I just didn't feel comfortable working with them anymore so I quit. It really hurt my relationship with work in general, and made me afraid of what other managers can do and be like. Sometimes I feel like maybe I should have stayed, but my manager just intimidated me so much and treated me like a child that it wasn't worth it, and I've been working on my work confidence since
