Solid presentation and great advice. Typically a rotary pump allows the machine to be plumbed whereas a vibration pump does not. This to me is a factor to keep in mind.👍🏻

Don't forget, some people just need to spend $20-30k of someone else's money to have something to display in the background of their youtube videos. This is not a reference whatsoever to this or any other of Clive's videos - your information is all on-point.

I've been following your channel for years and I like the subtle change in the presentation and production of your videos. One thing that would help: telling us who you are. I really liked that personal touch of your prior videos, and it seems to be missing here. Suggestion for you to bring it back across your videos. That's why we come to Clive, for that special touch.
I really enjoyed this young ladies perspective and the way she presented all of the data; I wish I had this info when I was just starting out buying my Atom 75 from you! We need more women in the coffee industry and I like that your videos have showcased and elevated your female employees. 👌🙏

Great, and informative presentation! One thing I think that was glossed over was the discussion on portafilter sizes. Should have mentioned that there is a wider range of accessories for 58 mm portafilters than there is for either 53 or 54 mm portafilters. The reason for this is simply the marketplace: there's a lot more machines on the market that use the 58 mm size.

These guys are really great. I just spend a smidge shy of 10k with them and looking forward to my new LM machine being delivered sometime this week. I did a ton of research and they really are the most responsive company for gear I've had the pleasure of interacting with. Not too mention they basically double the warranty on many of there machines. I highly highly recommend them for any of your needs! BTW, I used Hannah and she is top notch A1+ fantastic

I really wish you would cover the difference in group head designs in more depth... It is a critical part of choosing an espresso machine. You could cover an entire video on differences in heat up time, temp stability, maintenance requirements, repairability, and supported features?

Some great information and advice. I agree, quality of grind is crucial. Of utmost importance are the skills of the barista and the quality of the beans. Followed by a pretty good grinder,
followed by a decent espresso machine.

    • @espressomatic

      1. Grinder
      2-8 Skill
      9. Commercial coffee, whole bean
      10. Espresso machine
The difficulty of 2-8 can be greatly reduced or influenced by the choices of 1 and 10.

@@espressomatic Thank you for your perspective. Although it makes great sense, however I find very few beans out there that satisfy my palate. I order fresh beans directly from domestic coffee houses as well as from abroad. So, I would remove the beans from your equation, as that is a matter of subjective taste, and accept the rest of the order.

Thanks for sharing and arguing on most important items. Saving money for a good grinder reminds me the fact to invest first in a good lens before spending all your budget in a high end body, in photographie 🙂 At the end "Scale + good grinder" may lead me to chose the Eureka libra.

    • @persianwingman
      @persianwingman Год назад

You get what you pay for. Delonghi is ok but their coffee equipment is very plastic. Fine for a first machine but you’ll want to upgrade if you get more serious about coffee. Pretty sure Clive don’t sell Delonghi.

@@persianwingman nearly 100% metal construction on the EC685. Easy 9 bar pull on properly ground coffee with an unpressurized basket. I guarantee you that 99% of people would not be able to taste the difference between a shot pulled on a Delonghi versus any La Marzocco. Once you get to 1000$ it's a steep steep curve of diminishing returns. But you know, whatever..

That specific model is one of the best values for money when paired with an unpressurized basket and replacement stainless portafilter. So long as you ALSO have a very good grinder - and follow the basics on IN and OUT.

    Hey guys,
I am looking for an espresso machine. Without going into the details, it will be a big step for me. I am looking for a unit with an R61 Grouphead, PID, and flow control. I would not mind one without milk frothing capability. I saw the ECM Puristika, but idk about the external water tank. I was communicating with another channel, but I feel they will only suggest the most expensive machines . One female was rude and told me some bs. I am hoping for a better experience here.
It is my intention to purchase a bundle of equipment from 1 company. Please guide me in this important experience and please be patient with me. I hope we can do business in the future. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
