- Military drivers have been hitting some BASS notes as they learn to operate the BV 206, a tracked, articulated utility vehicle, in the Arctic region of Norway.
BASS - Brake, Acceleration, Speed and Steering - are the fundamentals they need to learn when taking on the snow and ice in an all-terrain amphibious vehicle like this.

The two hydraulic cylinders connected between the two chassis allow the front unit to be tilted up relative to the rear unit a meter or more. This makes it much easier to drive up and snake over steep banks that would otherwise stop most other tracked machines.
What a brilliant piece of kit!
There is a YT video of some US Marines who were let loose in some of these when training with RMs in Norway. They got some mega drifting going on as they were on sheet ice!
That’s some ice road trucking! Cheers from 🇨🇦 ❄️
This looks like Bardufoss
What a strange vehicle I love it, and love how they get out and about on public Norweigan roads too lol
This could have been a cool video if it was more than 120 seconds
A brilliant vehicle that! There are very few places where this can't go.
Looks to be fun but obviously not in a war situation. 👍🏻
Have driven it, it's great
That's my kind of fun!
And it floats.
Super 😊🥰🤣
I drove the old BV 202 when I served in the Norwegian army. It was slower and smaller than the BV 206 but much better off road.
