So glad to see almost all of you in studio again; honestly really had me beaming, there's something intangible but really special about having the studio set up and having you all together. Sam, your insight into how arcade cabinet sales and operations work was absolutely fascinating. Your history lessons and insights are always such wonderful additions to the show. Thank you for explaining that to us all! Also, Nicholas was a great addition to the pod, hope to see him again!
I owned a comic store in the mid 90s and we had an arcade machine company ask us if they could put 2 machines into our store in exchange for 50% of the money they made each month. They would let us switch out cabinets when we felt they weren’t making enough money. From memory we had Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 2, X-Men, Captain America & the Avengers, NBA Jam, & Time Killers at some point. We never had to put any money down or buy any arcade machines, we only supplied the electricity.
Arcades in the 80’s and 90’s were great! They served as a social space as well as a location where you could only play certain games, or the best version of one. The Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat cabinets were like a casino event on par with throwing dice in an alley lol. Many a dollar made on the side…
Tunic was my first ever game I downloaded on Game pass (I just got my XSX) and it was an amazing game. Loved every minute of it and the music has no business being that damn good. 🔥
Dear Omega Corps, I’ve come to the conclusion that 56 minutes is far too short for such a fun podcast. In fact, my research shows that anything less than 90 minutes can still be qualified as “too short”. Please let me know who at IGN I need to call to get all episodes above this minimum length. If you need an additional guest to help add extra content and meet the proper length, my door is also open for that. Scoop!
Great episode guys. Always love listening to the show! (Man, I thought you guys might have messed up 20Q if it had been Perfect Dark... Or was that after 2000?)
Daemon always manages to find interesting topics to discuss. That list was amazing and terrible at the same time. Also I’m not playing Elden Ring but I love getting updates on how Daemon is going. Keep up the work Scoop crew! 👍👍
Johnny Gat from Saints Row should have been considered a nominee for either of these lists. A person can be below poor by being in debt, and if you cant pay the fine you might do the time. Although Johnny Gat was rescued from a courtroom before being sentenced to life, if not death, for hundreds of murders in Saints Row 2, being in prison is worse than being in debt. Being a gang leader has its ups and downs, and eventually the Saints take over the city and all the businesses to the point the money isn't even counted anymore, but the plot can go in any direction in the crazy City of Stilwater come this August 2022.
I think they should talk about as much Breath of the Wild and as much Elden Ring and as much Yakuza Like a Dragon as they want. And I have no interest in Yakuza Like a Dragon, but I still listen because often it's interesting bits about games in general (whether it's cliches or making fun of them or what have you). Daemon, I like your Elden Ring posts on FB group - just saying.
Oooh man!! It's been so long!!! What an awesome episode. Like other commenters the energy here was top notch for this episode. Sam, a bit sad and glad at the same time.... Although you could not be there, much love to you and your work from home atmosphere! Daemon it has been great seeing you host many shows in studio again!! Justin, always a pleasure Scoop! 😉
So welcome back... except Sam (and of course Tina). I have to say, after 2 years, I will admit that I actually liked the more casual vid-con dynamic (as a viewer). I totally get that it's more fun and instinctive to actually F2F with people, and I don't want to downplay your social (human) needs as people needing to connect .... EDIT... Ok, I will confess I started writing this in the first 30 mins (as it was playing). Then you hit the richest-poorest game characters, and I have to say IRL or streamed... you guys have a good chemistry (Tina... please come back soon). Welcome back - and let's all celebrate any sign of normality (whatever that means) returning.... I say as I recover form COVID at home, trying desperately not to infect my whole family.
Regardless of why Microsoft is selling well, they had to make a good system to even be an option so that speaks to its quality and value that Sony players are willing to get an Xbox.
Happy Scoop Day!! The only weekly holiday celebrating the only gaming podcast in the universe! Time to wrap up my work day, grab a brew, pull up RUclips on my TV and watch the four nicest people in gaming have a chat, laugh and have a good time! No better way to start your weekend. Nicely job.
With the new set, ya gotta do a crane zoom in as the opening scene of each Podcast....Start wide get the whole set and everyone, while Daemon's introducing the topics, while the camera slowly moves in, show that set off
For Star Wars games, I’d want an open world ‘force unleashed’ style rpg. Allow for choice between smuggler, scoundrel, light/grey/dark jedi, bounty hunter, etc for classes and have tons of upgrades and abilities. Think the story style and universe of KoTOR meets the powers and fighting of force unleashed, made by Bethesda game studios. It would not be at all related to the skywalker saga, maybe a bit after, as the force surges back.
Should I play Rogue Legacy first before playing Rogue Legacy 2? I'm not concerned about story or anything like that, but as far as gameplay - are they similar enough that if I play Rogue Legacy 2 I will get the full experience, or will I miss out on something by skipping Rogue Legacy?
I never saw a PS5 on any store, and online they were available for like 5 min and then gone.. Its so frustrating.. Xbox consoles are allways available on stores and online, like switch consoles as well..
Here we go. It’s nice to see the guys back in studio. Except for Sam, always the odd duck. Am I alone in thinking that 2022 has been one of the worst years in gaming? Edit: I’m not saying that no good games have released this year, just a very small amount compared to past years.
Hi there. Your IGN playlist is not very helpful at the moment. I signed up for an account, but it doesn't direct me what to do or where to go to add games, or get my recommendations for new games, or to rate games, etc. Just seems like another site that wants my info at the moment. Given how awesome your walkthroughs are, I expected more form a feature advertised so heavily.
In studio seems unnecessary now a days. Feels like its returning to a time that has passed. People don't need to book hotels, leave there homes, families, ect, just to be in a building. We get the same info, and we still see a fantastic show when done using technology. Just my thoughts. Keep up the great work. Either way the show is great!
Absolutely made my day, fantastic to see things getting back to "normal"
When Justin said "Scoop!", I really felt that.
I'm not tired of elden ring talk. Keep it coming, cheese and all.

What is the song at the end of the video? I know it, but can’t figure out where it’s from! I NEED IT!

Nicholas is awesome! More of him on Scoop!
Nicholas is a lovely chap. Happy to see him here again!
Great to see you all back in the studio! I will say I miss everyone’s unique setups and backgrounds from their homes.
Don’t miss that at all. This is way better.
Except Justin’s left it bare forever

Thank luu
Cheese is a big part of the From Software experience. I love hearing these stories lol. Keep 'em coming!
I encourage more Elden Ring talk. Good to see everyone back onsite.
0:44 Man, seeing the studio like that again (although, its a new one) has me strangely nostalgic
Tunic was my first ever game I downloaded on Game pass (I just got my XSX) and it was an amazing game. Loved every minute of it and the music has no business being that damn good. 🔥
Those lists were so random :') Great stuff.
Atleast Handsome Jack making the top list seems plausible :D

The energy in this podcast is definitely higher than the social distance shows
I thought those had "the energy" too honestly. ways enjoyed them.
more echo as well or is that just my ear, idk?
The Adventures of Bayou Billy on the NES I remember that game was OG hard, never beat it
Oh wow, they’re back at the studio 👍

I teared up a lot in Spiritfarer. Such a special game. Soundtrack is up there as one of my favourites of all time.
The Attack! That's where I remember Nick from. I miss those days. SO glad to see him again
Seein y’all in studio is a mood booster, fs
sooo glad to see (most)) of you back in the new studio, it's a beautiful thing

Indeed. They really found their groove virtually. In studio or otherwise, excited for the next few years. Hope you recover well!
So glad to see you guys together.
It feels so classic to see you in the studio
Love the new set and seeing you guys back in studio. A bit of an echo though
Laura Croft is rich as shit
Daemon's cheese stories are the best 😂
Glad to see them back together in a studio after 2 years!
OMG. I laughed so much with the richest and poorest list. I was drinking water and almost choked twice with the bit about Link.
ohh we back in the studio finally.
the gang is back! (almost)
love that yall went to the barber shop for the first days back too.
Oh my goodness! A new era of Scoop has commenced!
Love the in person pods :)
Really hope Daemon starts playing the older FromSoft games like Bloodborne. Elden Ring is making him a brand new gamer
What's the interview about the community dark souls? Where can I find it?
Regardless of why Microsoft is selling well, they had to make a good system to even be an option so that speaks to its quality and value that Sony players are willing to get an Xbox.
So nice to see (75% of) y'all in a proper studio!
How come the name of the music is no longer being posted?
There is no way those characters are richer than Scrooge McDuck! The dude is literally swimming in his own money!
What's the end track? It sounds familiar but I can't place it.
Titled content starts @ 24:00
Thank you
I’m surprised Agent 47 wasn’t on the top 5 richest gaming characters list? Hitmen normally earn millions for a contract! 😎 Lol

I wanted to do this, but a crane doesn't fit in the studio 🙃 - Daemon

Lara Croft - Grave Robber
Isn't that essentially "Tomb Raider"?

What game was the music at the end from?
Wow! Video game characters theoretically make more than most Americans. Crazy
Scoop! Love the new set!
People are back together again in person mind blown
Great to be back!!
By Grabthar’s Hammer, they’re back in studio!
What game is the outro music from?!?
More elden ring talk please.
Best proof that RUclips's algorithm is utterly broken is that Game Scoop doesnt show up as the #1 recommendation.
What NES game has the music from 37:13?
they are all ninja turtles. the first ones including this one are all from the Manhattan project
Good to have people be in the same room again! It makes a difference!
I would love Insomniac to make a Star Wars game, pretty much Ratchet & Clank with a Star Wars skin
I could be wrong be link is a knight also in skyward sword.
What a silly list to entertain, thank you for the fun!
Blanka is a database administrator, specializing in Oracle.
Handsome Jack best villain of all time.
Damn, the Blast Corps question ruined what would have been winning in 007 questions
Just put Factor 5 back on whatever in the SW universe. They always did it justice.
Is Tina ever there? What is she up to?
To scoop or scoup. That is the audio
Anybody know the outro song?
Please make fun of more listicles, that was great
Happy Friday
I’d take two scoops if I could!

Aladan gotta be one of the poorest
Has Daemon actually tried Stardew Valley? I can understand him not liking Animal Crossing but Stardew Valley is one of the greatest games of all time.
That is funny because I like Animal Crossing but I cannot stand Stardew Valley. I think the concept between those games just do not appeal to others.
@@davidswick8571 I like both but they're definitely quite different games.
I'm not sure why Sam said that. I like Stardew Valley, although I haven't played that much of it. - Daemon
@@IGNGames That makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification Daemon.
Happy for Xbox but we don’t know the margins. The switch margins are likely high esp compared to the ps5 and Xboxes
When I saw Handsome Jack, I clicked on the video
I thought Justin moved to Idaho???
I much prefer in person podcasts.
I'm struggling to play anything but Elden Ring.
i feel like for this list to be justified they should have made paper boy number 1

Two shilling was 10 pence in old money, this would be a tenth of a pound u.k so it would work out .
Pretty funny show
Umm excuse me, Xbox released Tunic aka my game of the year. 🦊
N64 Goldeneye and use footage from the Wii 'remake' ? Seems disrespectful.

L. In person way better. Easier to dialogue, as people never overlap/accidentally interrupt each other. Flows more naturally.
Yes!!!!!!
