The reason no one has them on their shelf is these are main whiskey brands people use to get absolutely hammered and they go through it all in one night.
Everyone has something negative to say when they got the bottle right in front of them, but they change their tune on a blind taste test. Have someone put 10 cheap whiskys out and try them blind, 1 glencairn with Jack in the mix and 1 glencairn with Jim in the mix out of all 10. You might be surprised at the results.
I probably couldn’t pick out JD in a blind, but I am pretty sure I would have hated it equally even if I didn’t see the bottle. The only whisky I have disliked more than JD is Johnny Walker Red Label. That one went down the drain.
Jim Beam is my favorite. I don't drink it neat anymore but when I'm in a mood for a mixed drink, it's Jim Beam and Dr Pepper. Jack and coke tastes more bitter to me. Jim Beam and Dr Pepper is kinda sweet and you gotta pour it high so you get the foam. That's the best part.
I'm not a whiskey drinker and I'm definitely not someone who can describe all the notes of flavor but I've tried Jack Daniels and didn't like it because of a strong peanut aftertaste. I don't get that peanut aftertaste with Jim Beam.
I'm actually shocked that the first guy couldn't pick out the Jack Daniels right away. The charcoal filtering from the Lincoln County process makes it nearly unmistakable. At least to me. Which one you may prefer based on a blind taste test is an entirely different story. But it should have been obvious which one was the Jack Daniels.
Thanks for a candid opinion of these two whiskey staples. Understandably, these are not your go to drinks. However respectfully, without these two brands the whiskey that we all love today would not have evolved. I still keep Old No. 7 on my bar and drink it Frank's way on occasion and I love the in your face flavor of Jack Daniels Green Label that you can only buy in a few states. I really like your show and the reviews you are putting out. Keep up the good work. Cheers!!!!
Those were both college days drinkers for me and fine then. I do keep a bottle of Jim Beam on my bar for those really bad days when I want to start with a 80 proof bottle and climb the ladder!
I wonder if they went for a flavor that is better with soda over the years since pretty much no one drinks these straight. Either mixed or with a chaser. Not really a sipping drink.
An argument could be made either way. Technically the Lincoln County process does make it Tennessee whiskey. But the fact that it's at least 51% corn as well as age for at least 2 years, means it's also legally bourbon.
brooooo what…. try a ratio of 15%percent Jack and 85% coke i promise you will be drooling! if not then i really dont know, you might not be a whiskey guy
@@escobarsgrandson9138 I have tried Jack and Coke. Terrible... I won't say no to a Wild Turkey 101, or a Bulleit Bourbon. I can handle a Rye from the same brands (only rye's I have tried), but I am more a whisky than a whiskey guy. I have more than 30 scotch'es that I love but JD... No thank you. I prefer my whisky neat, and my coke with rum 😊
Two comments if I may? 1) Jim Beam all day long, cheaper, smoother and has that nice "wood" taste to it. 2) Nice fart produced at 1:15. Thanks for sharing. ~Toodles~
I would pick JD easily. Not my favorite to drink but it is great to cook with. In the summer my guests love my JD marinade that I use on Flank steak and my JD BBQ sauce for chicken.
To me , because of the price difference almost half....between them ...Jim Beam all the way. Jim Beam is also smother to me and makes it a winner right away.
Great vid not knocking yall but just letting ya no I have my volume at max and can barely hear you talk a better mic or maybe just closer would make a world of difference 😉

Unfortunately I know what your talking about lol

You sir know what’s up …..Jim and coke and ice ….mix it and get that foam going good …..taste Sooooo yummy
Just had me Pepsi nitro and Beam… absolutely delicious
@@stifflers69mom1 I like Jim best with Pepsi. The Pepsi with the real sugar. It's more sweet.
I hate Dr. Pepper. Crown and Pepsi is smoother.

I like both. It all depends on my mood. To each their own.
I like Jack Beam a little better than Jim Daniels.
Were you Jim Daniel’s or Jack Beam drunk when you wrote this?

Yep just missed it on that day.
Not to mention it is sour mash and gas the charcoal and underlying almost cinnamon like aftertaste.

Totally agree with all of that!!! Thanks for the love and support.
Crown is probably the better version of these two. It is mellowed.

I wanna see Kentucky Gentleman in a blind vs. popular bourbons 😂
Depending on the popular bourbon I bet it can hold its own lol.
My new idea use this for cooking meats but also for marinade for catfish bait
I wonder if they went for a flavor that is better with soda over the years since pretty much no one drinks these straight. Either mixed or with a chaser. Not really a sipping drink.
Jack Daniels is not bourbon, by law it's Tennessee Whiskey
It’s own by a kentucky company so it looses some of that claim to Tennessee whiskey… hahaha
In which way it is not bourbon?
@@elinabelykh2452 the Lincoln County process..

I was gonna say the thing.
Beam is famous for the peanut notes. I get them on EW BiB too.
Please do jack vs makers mark!
Candid review, Would be cool if you threw in Wild Turkey 101 and Ezra Brooks
Damn I wish we had the prices you folks have jack is 40 Jim 37 here in canada
bro said “impails you with nuts”
Y’all need to try Uncle Nearest 1820 .👌🏾
Jack Daniels was best before 1987 when it was 90 Proof, when they dropped the Proof it ruined it
Since I have never tried Jim Beam, and Jack Daniel´s is the second worst whisk(e)y I ever tried, I’m just not going to bother testing JB. Thank you 😊

I’m chasin shots of Jim with Diet Coke 3rd round I’m feeling good
Evan Williams bonded is overpowered for the price it must be the best product on the market
That bottle is money. It definitely punches up.
JD 's aftertaste is the key

Hating on Jack and Jim is crazy.
They both are what i call "billiger Spiritus für's Effekt trinken "
Cheap spirits / liquors for getting drunk.
@@justinholland9844 yes but Spiritus in German is the Alcohol you use for Starting Fires or to clean.
I got Jack to mix it with stuff, whiskey sour for example or even cola becomes drinkable with it (hate cola)

JD sauce is good. Never tried the actual bottle on food though, just the branded sauce.
Jim beam any day!! JD initial smell is off putting
I work for jim beam lol thts some good stuff
To me , because of the price difference almost half....between them ...Jim Beam all the way. Jim Beam is also smother to me and makes it a winner right away.
Jim Beam is undrinkable. Jack is OK, but there are better choices in that price range.
Agree
