MVave Tank-G - 4 Gig Ready Presets

- After spending a couple of weeks playing around with the MVave Tank-G , I've put together what I believe are 4 Functional, gig ready presets, from clean, to overdriven and distorted to a lead tone. These presets all use a 4x12 Marshall Cabinet Impulse and the presets and cabinet can be downloaded from tianjay.com/fi...
Please note that the presets may sound different depending how you are running them, for example, different guitars, pickups, monitoring etc.
NB: Apologies for the focus breathing on the front camera, I forgot to turn auto focus off 🤦🏻♂️
My Tank-G just arrived. I will do what you did :) Thank you!
Hope you enjoy it!
@@tianjay What is the name of app you use? I need it for Mac.
@@pawekowalski510 Download the app from www.cuvave.com/appdownload
@@tianjay thank you
@@tianjay Cubesuite asks me for a firmware update. After update app still asks me for the update. Strange
Tian thank you so much. I will use these on stage and will let you know how I go. STAY SAFE (ps. I am looking for a VOX AC30 CLEAN, BOOST ETC... if you come across a preset you like please share).
Thanks for this! Awesome sound
My pleasure!
Great!!!! thank you!!!!!
You're welcome!
Sound great. Nice custom presets. I have found this unit to be a bit difficult to dial in, especially on the high gain side where it is either too bright or honky or too boomy. And the IRs once loaded don't reall sound as good as the original IR in a DAW.. I guess that's the price of fitting so many functions into a very tight hardware, they have to optimize the algorithms and the audio resolution suffers.I also get pretty noticeable digital clipping with some of my guitars. But as a backup or beginner unit it is fine as long as you are ready to load external presets and IRs.
Thank you! Yes, for its price, this thing is excellent. Very handy to have in the gig bag as a backup!
Is it midi controllable from DAW for example? Does it has midi interface... Can't find nothing about it in internet...
Btw i'm using my boss gt-10 as FX pedalboard through midi, after watching your old videos about boss gt-10. It fully controllable from DAW for live sessions.
Glad to see you again!
I’m not sure, I’ll check it out over the weekend and let you know what i discover.
great sound. thanks
Thank you
nice sound i very love it , can you make all 36 preset ?
When I click on the link you supplied it just opens another youtube link with this video starting again. Anyone else with this problem.
I think YT mustn't like links to zip files as it probably thinks it's malicious. I've changed the directory, new link in the description, see how that works for you.
By the way the IR aliasing may be due to the IR level set too high when loading the IR in the unit. I had the same issue of the IR actually clipping the signal. But I have no solution for the relativelly high noise when going direct. But straight to power sound really good !
Unfortunately i tried everything, different levels, sample rates and ir’s from different 3rd party providers but all sounded bad through the DAW. No problem through my power amp though.
After playing with their capture tool to profile my Engl preamp, I found that the amp captures are actually quite good when going to a real power amp + cab but not great through IRs (a lot of weird high end and spike s in transients). I guess their IR module is not the best. But after trying a whole lot of IRs, some work acceptably well. Seem that the darker IRs work better in this unit. They should add a low and high pass filter for the IR block that can be adjusted in softwate.. That would certainly help.
I've had success by miccing my amp, capturing that and then going direct into my DAW. That way I leave the IR section disabled as my amp model includes my cab. Sounds awesome into the PC or a full range speaker
how to use the .tkg files?
Thanks for your reviews. I would like to ask your advice please. I have a gt-8 . Do you think the tank g is an upgrade to the boss gt8 or should i stick with the gt8?
I think the ability to use 3rd party cabinet responses in the TankG makes for better amp sounds but the FX are obviously limited. For the money, you could get a TankG and use it in conjunction with the GT8 and then you’d have the best of both worlds.. even if you ONLY use it for Cabinets..
