Thank you for watching, I'm glad that you got something from it. Hopefully you watched my other video ruclips.net/video/8LKtyhzJvdQ/видео.html as there is some presets to download. Cheers
Thanks mate, I’ve just uploaded a new video with some presets that I created. You can also download the presets from the link in the description.. ruclips.net/video/8LKtyhzJvdQ/видео.html
The biggest appeal of the tank g is the ability to model existing equipment thanks to the latest firmware and software updates. I've created pretty decent models of my real amps with various pedals that can be run into a pa system directly. Having reverb or delay on the pedal is great as it's just like using the effects loop in a real amp. I hope you're enjoying it!
Yeah, it’s amazing how much it can do considering the price. My follow-up video to this one showcases some presets that i made using cab IRs and i think they sound great! Unfortunately, I no longer have any physical amps that I can model but nonetheless, it’s still pretty impressive.
Thanks for commenting.. it wasn’t really an assessment, just my first impression upon hearing the presets.. in my opinion they were not great sounding but it’s subjective so if they’re your thing, that’s great. I’ve since created some of my own presets which i think sound fantastic and i would totally use them live but i haven’t had chance to do a video about them yet. For the money, this thing is amazing! Cheers T
Thanks for the review! Just got mine today but haven't played around with the settings or the app. Just curious if you use IR's on this pedal when you run it into an amp or just into a board or recording device. Thanks!
Hi, thanks for watching, I’ve since done a follow-up video which includes a few presets that you can download so be sure to check that one out. I ended up running it directly into a power amp and speaker because I was getting some aliasing through my computer for some reason. See that video here ruclips.net/video/8LKtyhzJvdQ/видео.html
@@davidmurray9193 A DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) is just a fancy name for any recording software.. To record to the DAW, you will need an audio interface and the TankG can be your audio interface via USB. You will need software to record to and there are free apps like Audacity which you can use for this.
Yes, I edit on Mac.. the software is a little “buggy” but works well enough. I have a couple of Schecters, this one is a modified Sun Valley Super Shredder.. I talk about it here -> ruclips.net/video/LM9F4gz7RuY/видео.html
Easy, you can just press the currently lit preset switch to bypass it, or press switch 2 and 3 at the same time to enter manual mode and then you can freely toggle the individual effects on/off as labelled on the switches.
That’s an interesting question.. it’s not something that I’ve personally had experience with but it would be a super compact live rig if you could do it. Obviously you could run a cable with adapter from the FMicro in to the Tank-G but I’m not sure if they would communicate via USB. Maybe someone else here has done it and can comment?
For me i have found the menu very confusing maybe i don't understand but i never know well in what mode i am ? The green light is always blinking and it shows only a P or an L if i press the 2 switch B & C and it goes very fast. And nothing to remember me it what mode i am ? How do you know it ?
Yes i have understand it after a day of pause. I was certainly very tired. Thank you. Now i have found others problems i cannot extract the firmware file my windows says me it does not found any program to open it ? And the windows program to manege the pedal board have no install exe it's just an exe who works by itself ?
No i haven’t yet and since creating this video a couple of days ago, i still haven’t had time to explore it any further.. my next step will be to program a bunch of useable presets
@@tianjay with Midi Chief you can use tank-G as Midi controller as well. I created a web site to do the training of captures, for people that don't have a GPU NVIDIA.
I have this Tank G and I'm new with all of this stuff, i wanna plug it via XLR out to my XLR in soundcard, is it safe to use phantom power? Coz it doesn't work without it
Yeah, i saw that they released that recently. Whilst there appears to be more control over the effects parameters i think a two button pedal would be too limiting for me. I definitely think it would suit someone wanting a versatile pedal on their pedal board though
it can be used in either, this video where i share some presets is recorded with a mic on cabinet through an amp. ruclips.net/video/8LKtyhzJvdQ/видео.html
I also tried the tank g. Unfortunately, all distortion amps (6-9) have a noise that the noise gate does not reduce but only reduces as soon as you stop playing. Noise is not reduced while playing. I tried different cables, guitars from Fender, Gibson, Gretsch. It's always the same noise. With my Headrush effects board there is no noise. Do you have an idea?
it’s a very basic noise gate in that it will suppress sound (noise) once the threshold is below a certain level, i.e. when you stop playing but as soon as the threshold is breached, the gate opens and you hear everything. The more gain you are using, the noisier it will be, but generally with high gain sounds, while you’re playing, it will mask the noise so my only advice would be to try to limit how much gain you’re using within your sound. Maybe experiment with different amp and cabinet combinations. this is probably not much help to you however it’s hard for me to diagnose/help without actually being there and hearing what you are hearing.
This is a good backup unit for the price. The sound quality is not stellar out of the box (presets are a bit weird, quite a bit of noise and the gate is way too slow to hide that). But with some good IRs and additionnal tone models (see ChuckD on YT) it sounds ok. Not as good as my Ampero and quite far from ToneX despite the same kind of AI based modeling ( but serviceable).
Hi, thanks and yes, this was a consideration when i bought the unit however this video was just about my initial thoughts. I’m hoping to do some more in depth videos soon
hmm. sounds a bit crappy to bh. you could get a good ol sansamp based pedal for that money. excessive tweaking helped a bit… dont those company invest in a proper preset development team? the boss effect: i always wondered how a company that builds some of the best pedals can fill their multifx units with hundreds of unusable presets…

Works good with pedals.I grabbed one of these for really cheap.Messed around with it and added a joyo Vintage overdrive and presto!!!

Are you able to test and confirm if those pedal switches control RUclips play/pause at all?
