@@kevinmyles6369 the chocolate is just a midi controller. So you would want something like the tank g, the Boss Ir or a Stomp from line 6, etc or even any recording software that you might use can see them.

Great video but I do have a question! The Tank-G can load IR files and the am2data files and my understanding is IRs are used for speakers cabs and the am2data files for amp profiling, is that correct? If so, how do I create am2data profiles of other amps.

Thanks for making this video and showing details. I'm curious why you are not using a re-amp box on the audio interface's output that goes to the pedal input. The audio interface output would typically be line level, and the pedal input would typically be instrument level. I am used to capturing audio with NAM and Audio Assault's Snapshot Maker, and these require a re-amp box to get the interface's output signal to the correct level going into the pedal.
@@MichaelMyersDoverPA hmm interesting, I am thinking they make some adjustments in the software to allow us to use just an interface?? I am able to adjust output and input levels at the interface, as well as at the pedal. But you raise a good point. I followed their instructions, but this would be worth comparing the differences. Hey man, I downloaded the BEOD and the LPD and sent them to the Tank-G but they did not sound the same as when you did it. Followed your instructions step by step and was like the file had no affect when sent. Thoughts?
@@mikerichardson3017 hey bro, did you do any tweaking to the Ann software in the eq section? Once you set up better frequencies in that section, and then try sending it to the Tank. I like around 80-100 for bass, 800 or so for mid, and 2k for treble. The BEOD will be a drive pedal for going into the front input of an amp, but also sounds good with a nice IR after it as a preamp. There is also a more recent video with some of the files saved with the tweaks already done. I think I linked them in the one with the ToneX in the thumbnail. Maybe try one of them?

@@JoeDimaggio-y3b hey buddy, thank you! I appreciate it. One thing is you need to use either the Ann software, or the newest version of their software M-EFCS to pop the files into the Tank. I have a couple of other videos with preamps attached, as well. So make sure you grab some more! Hopefully this helps get you going. Also check out the M-Vave channel for their more quick videos to go over some of the How To sections that might be confusing.
Hey man, when I run this into my Focusrite with my M5, I do stereo. It’s all going line level into the interface, and not my guitar directly in. If I had my guitar going into my interface alone, it would be inst. But now I am thinking you mean the interface that I captured with? If so, it would also be line level info going in or out. It’s 4/20, so I am overthinking everything😆hope something I said helped.

Hey, you’re welcome! It does seem the Ann software is only on windows. However, there is a new update to the M-EFCS software and I will be getting a video out within the week about how to use it to put the files into the Tank with a Mac. As well as some updated files and a “how to” section.

I am not interested in profiling any pedals (because I do not have any) I just want to be able to load ones that become available on line. I hear an improvement already with your cab IR's and I thank you for that. Honestly I gave up on this pedal like 5 times until I started getting some decent tone going direct to my HeadRush last week. I played and outdoor gig going to my HeadRush and then going to FOH from there and I was really impressed. Just curious but does updating the Tank-G reset your presets? By reset I mean it reverts the system back to factory settings causing you to lose your custom presets. I read somewhere on their site that it resets something in the system.
I did have that happen on my first update, I am not sure if they have fixed that yet. I would recommend exporting your presets first, just in case. Then you can import them back in, if it does.
You almost want to print off a chart of what IRs etc you have put into which slots for reference. But for me this is all mind boggling. I don't think I could learn and do this on my own. Are you making your sounds available?
And literally as soon as i press play again you tell us about the google drive with the files in it. Thanks I might try downloading them and see if I can put them on my Tank G. That will be the start of my learning curve.
@@rldays9179 I'm glad you saw the files! I think the Tank is a great way to dive into the multi fx world with IR and Preamp sims to swap around. It's really easy to restore to factory settings and also grab your own in their capture software. Have fun, and thanks for checking out the video!
@@DoubleDguitar I downloaded your files Boss Brown, Boss British etc and opened them in MEFCS and put them on my Tank G. What I found was it was changing the sound but the settings all looked the same and the patches I was overwriting had modulation on and with a phaser or whatever and that never turned off. Now I'm not sure if I am getting the actual sound that you created or if I'm getting your sound added to the sound that was already there. And I reset factory and 1a is a dirty sound now but even in MEFCS it says it is a clean sound with no Cab selected. So let me get this right, to download the sounds you made to work on my G all I have to do is in MEFCS is click "open AM2data file" then choose a file from folder they are in and select that file in MEFCS and it should sound like the file you created? That is what I am doing then I tweak it a little like get rid of the modulation which for some reason stays on. Then click save preset to and choose 1A or whatever slot I want it in? That is what I am doing and some of the files sound good but others just sound like the original file with the modulation turned off. I will keep trying, maybe I'm missing something.

Thank you! I think it has a lot to do with getting the audio level very close to peaking, but not peaking or “clipping”, during the highest points before making a capture, getting the clearest signal going to the interface.

@DoubleDguitar Great, thanks. I bought a Tonex 1 and was so excited at the possibilities, but I'm kinda at a dead end right now. I haven't been able to get past the product manager. It says my username and password are incorrect. I don't understand the logic there, because I created those. I asked for help and they said tech support would contact me in a few days. Ha! It's been about 2 months now and no help. Thus isn't the first trouble I've had with IK. I have their Philharmonik and Sampletank softwares that SOUND GREAT, but eventually require reauthorization. UGH. It's frustrating!
@@RonSykes-j1d oh man! That is frustrating. Are you on the fb group for Tonex? I see a lot of people with similar issues and they can get you straightened out.
It will go into the amp type, once you save it to the Tank G. There will be a pull down option, pick slot 1-9, depending upon what you want to replace.

@@rendisondakh9207 the overwrite is the only way to replace one of the preamps. I don’t believe there is a way to get the factory preamp back, without an overwrite. However I think MVave gave them all available somewhere in one of their videos. So you could always download their files and swap that one back in.

a comparison with an IR or going into an amp would have been a lot more useful. It's hard to tell what part of the beehive sound is important without it, so the comparison to the pedal really didn't do much here
I do have some demos of this straight into an interface with some other captures, and going straight into the Marshall with captures as distortion and gain stages. Look for the follow ups to this in the playlist. Would you like to hear this into the return of the Marshall with preamps loaded in, thus bypassing the preamp of the Marshall to hear them in that purpose? I have thought about trying it and would gladly film. But I would leave the cab sim off for them, since I have mics.

@@anayv11 you got it! The M-Upgrade app will be what you want to open to check the firmware and update the tank. When you start it and connect the tank, it will display the version.
@@DoubleDguitar you need to do the trainning with an audio recorded or audacity with the amplitude plugin. If you want I can share a video in Portuguese and I’m pretty it’s simple enough to understand without actually “understanding” 😅
If you are having trouble with Ann, because your pc doesn’t have their specs, they now have a method of doing it through some Google portal. Check out their website. I got a new pc that now can do a profile in 15-20 minutes.

I went on the Blackbox FB group and asked what preamps are available and if the profiling is doable and Ehrosmith only answered the preamp question. 🤔

I believe there is only stuff like the main control app and firmware, the Ann app is windows only.

a comparison with an IR or going into an amp would have been a lot more useful. It's hard to tell what part of the beehive sound is important without it, so the comparison to the pedal really didn't do much here
I do have some demos of this straight into an interface with some other captures, and going straight into the Marshall with captures as distortion and gain stages. Look for the follow ups to this in the playlist. Would you like to hear this into the return of the Marshall with preamps loaded in, thus bypassing the preamp of the Marshall to hear them in that purpose? I have thought about trying it and would gladly film. But I would leave the cab sim off for them, since I have mics.
Does the captured pedal go into one of the preamp slots?
Yeah, in Ann or the updated M-EFCs you can use the pull down to select slot 1-9.

@@tobestonezone2604 not within the one unit, you would need a second tank. I have used drives in front of the tank to try and it takes pedals great.

@@anayv11 you got it! The M-Upgrade app will be what you want to open to check the firmware and update the tank. When you start it and connect the tank, it will display the version.

Yes! As long as you can route a clean signal and the altered signal into an interface, you can.

As far as I have heard, the capture only does gain based profiles. Nothing that fancy yet. That would be soooo sick, though.

If you are having trouble with Ann, because your pc doesn’t have their specs, they now have a method of doing it through some Google portal. Check out their website. I got a new pc that now can do a profile in 15-20 minutes.
