Air Filter Replacement LX570 Land Cruiser Tundra Sequoia Toyota - Cold air intake? No Thanks

In this video we do some basic maintenance and replace the engine air filter on our Lexus LX570. The process and the air filter part are also the same on the Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Sequoia.
Even if you think your filter is clean at first glance it is always worth taking a closer look between the pleats of the filter for dust and dirt. I make a habit of changing mine every 10k miles. It is easy maintenance and helps to keep power delivery and MPG in the range Toyota and Lexus intended.
I also hate cold air intakes on this particular platform. They are useless and only create additional noise. On some platforms they are useful. But on this setup the factory designed intake system is actually very good.

You forgot to mention how a clean air filter also improves an owners sleep quality and general sense of order in the universe😁in sort the same way that taking solace in Bernoulli's principle helps a passenger sleep on a commercial flight over open water.

Absolutely! All those little dirt particles are like little bed bugs for your engine. 😀 have to make sure it can sleep well 😁

I think its worth noting that the filter you put in is the Made in Japan filter (17801-38030). There is also another version that I believe is made in the USA. People tend to prefer the Japan made filter.

That’s a very good point. I’ve had both side by side and the material difference is noticeable between the two. I definitely prefer the one made in Japan
