  • We fit a 3” turbo back exhaust and retune to suit on our Gen 3 N80 Hilux.
    The fuel consumption is also tested with the +30 injectors with highway driving, towing a boat and local stop start.
    Manta exhaust system has been used and you can purchase below

    I didn’t think I was going to get much from an ‘exhaust’ video but it was really cool. Great wrap up with the fuel and speedo info too!! (Floors look good too😂) Please keep ‘em coming.

    So a high flow DPF or a DPF delete because that thing spat out a shitload of soot when you were revving it after the fitment…

    Hey mate - I’ve just bought the exact same car. Love the sound of this exhaust. With the DPF turbo back - the replacement DPF is still fully legal and compliant just smaller by the looks of it?
    Is that how they manage to get a nice note out of a DPF? I’m assuming leaving the original filter in with the exhaust wouldn’t sound as nice. Thanks heaps mate

    Unreal fellas, can't wait to do a similar setup on mine.
    Just want to clarify that fuel reading, from stock you've added:
    - 3" exhaust with DPF delete
    - +30 injectors
    - 33" AT tires
    - 3" lift
    - the weight of a winch upfront
    - tuned the engine
    - tuned the auto
    Considering how good the fuel is now, will you change the gear ratios to match the bigger tires?

      Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it 🤙🏻
      Yeah pretty much spot on, also have a fridge in the tray running fulltime as well.
      The speedo is out by 3-4Kmh so not really worth the effort and it’s not short on power to turn the 33’s.
      Things may change later with all the extra mods that are coming though ha ha

      What year model is it? Without seeing it I can’t confirm but could just be the Cat
      If there is a 02 sensor after the cat it will throw codes if cat removed.
      If not it won’t

  • @79series

    Wow another great watch. So it seems instead of a Richards torque converter lock up kit you are better off getting the gear box tuned. ? Didn't even know that was a thing except for Toyota doing auto software updates. I'm truly surprised more people are not just doing gear box tunes. Do you have a video of comparing to two

    • @procheckautomotivemechanic4551
      @procheckautomotivemechanic4551  Год назад +1

      Hey Mate
      Yes a gear box tune will out perform any wired in lock up kit.
      There is a video of me doing a trans tune showing on the dyno when it was shifting and locking up before and after the tune.
      Have a look through our videos and you’ll see one dedicated to the n80 auto trans tune.
      Cheers

    Say if you got a tune and this "new" type off road dpf installed and had to go into Toyota for the common timing chain rattle warranty. Would they A. wipe the tune do you guys save individuals tunes to be able to re install them if Toyota wipe them and B. Would they not warranty the timing chain due to dpf mods.?

    • @procheckautomotivemechanic4551
      @procheckautomotivemechanic4551  Год назад

      Hey mate
      They won’t “wipe” the tune unless they do a software update
      But we keep stock and tuned file stored so can always swap over

    Hey mate, I have the same hilux but pwith a steel tray and tool boxes on the back 2” lift and 32” tires and its using an average of 12.3 lts per 100, i just drove it across the country still at 12lts per 100 i don’t drive it super hard. Will the exhaust alone help the economy or will i need to do the auto gearbox tune as well?

    • @procheckautomotivemechanic4551
      @procheckautomotivemechanic4551  Год назад

      Hey mate the combo of exhaust, tune and trans tune is the best way of getting economy.
      Exhaust and tune for the extra torque to get the car moving and keep it moving reduces (makes it better) fuel economy.
      But trans tune alone will help a lot. You get into lockup at 60kmh so around town economy drops then you add holding gears and lockup at 100kmh and the economy drops for highway use
