You can get tons of awesome singles for dirt cheap prices. Full art and rainbow secret rares are generally unwanted (and they have amazing texturing compared to the English versions). The CHR and AR cards are all amazing and affordable. There's even a good amount of CSRs from Vmax Climax that are (or were) quite cheap. You could make a killer binder just out of those cards. Most of the Radiant/Sparkling cards are also very cheap (I think Charizard, Eevee, and Jirachi are in the 10-15 range, those being the most expensive).
Started collecting & selling Japanese cards a couple years back & even the difference from then to now is insane. It feels like no matter if you're always a few steps ahead, these people eventually catch up.
This kind of stuff is sickening I went to target last year and bought a bunch of dragonball packs and every pack was missing the hits and they were all sealed packs there was nothing I could do to get my money back I was pissed.
They are going to destroy the Japanese Pokémon hard because I for one wanted to collect but now I'm not I'm done they can keep the games and playing they f****** self. Thank you Opossum for being the best detective for Pokémon

Dude it straight up sucks. It's insane how some ppl are in the hobby purely for the gain. I mean sure, you do you, you get the cards you want and sell the ones you don't or that are worth a few bucks but just trying to screw everyone up just so you can make the maximum amount of money is scummy. Personally, i came back to the hobby a year ago after being away for +10 years and the prices are just insane compared to before and it feels like you can't collect anymore if you don't have thousands to spend :/

Pretty lucky that I atleast have to opportunity to try and buy something at MSRP plus shipping. I've had some luck though from them. Thanks for the vid again. Every time I get some sealed stuff in I'm always afraid of getting scammed. Hopefully in the future we get a solid and safe method to keep things tamper proof.

No more for me until prices drop to a more reasonable level. I think current prices combined with FOMO is going to run a lot of collectors (especially noobs) broke. Shit is legit unsustainable. I think PC for both US and JPN need to not only use seal with logos but also place VOID stickers (the ones that indicate tampering if they are cut or lifted with a peeler) on all edges that can possibly be opened. Sucks that it may have to go this far but less people are going to buy sealed product of the integrity of the box with the current security is in question.

Welp I guess I won't be getting japanese booster boxes anymore... it was nice while it lasted probably just get the singles I want but it feels like my collecting is thinning out because of all crappy people out there with the re sealing and over pricing it's just sad I'll probably just get an etb from PC and that's it

The only way they can help stop this is by doing those pull tabs on all 4 corners and have seals of authenticity on the as well that can't be ripped off without tearing the box like crazy on all 4 sides. That's the only way to end it.
With the MSRP prices going up on product from the company. How come japanese boxes dont have the repeated pokemon logo on the sealed plastic wrap? Was always a red flag when receiving an english booster box with plain wrapping... I love theyre taking extra steps with the peel tab, but its still not enough apparently 😞
Yeah mine had an SR additional Energy ...lol but at least i got the SAR Deoxys Vmax I wanted 😭👌🤷 ..first box i did order with no shrink wrap in the begining of Dec. Had Elesa and gold palkia xD so yeah its just a gamble got them all for 5 bucks or 10 above MRSP

I bit the bullet and bought 6 boxes of S&v unsealed.( 3 of each) $70. I noticed that you could go through the side and felt sick to my stomach. I bought them bc that rip seal was still intact but yeah I noticed it's not even a factor. Luckily they were legit and I Even pulled the dumb expensive female sar (forgot her name). But I'm probably not gonna take that risk again

Great, but i'm happy with what i got to experience in this hobby, importing japanese product into Canada and enjoying ripping them. But when it becomes stressful, that shit aint worth it anymore. Never will we see the days of picking up $40 CAD with free shipping japanese boosters. The BW era for japanese cards was truly a easy and fun era.
Why do they put so much effort rubbing serial number off and printing correct number in pack only for vstar universe, a set which has a certain number of types of hits, might as well just fill with gi joe everyone knows it’s a scam box by then 😂 I can see them doing that for sets like scarlet violet tho. I’m still buying sealed I buy from trusted sellers and I always open a few from the lot I buy anyway.

Daaaaam it. I was about to order some for vstar universe and vmax climax boxes. But now hearing from you about this is just pointless to continue. It was enought that shiny starV was at high price in the beginning but they weren't tampered like now. This has gotten out of hand and Pokemon company should be aware this isn't right. Regardless that Pokemon is making the money no matter what happen after distribution, but the principal of tampering and theft does not clear the issue of their brand. This is horrible for this hobby!

I only ever buy 1-3 boxes of a set so I always get my boxes for msrp. Haven t been lucky with vstar universe tho but at some point i ll get a box or two. Almost done getting all the actual pokemon pokemon cards only need to pull the trainer cards now haha.

The only reliable places to buy boxes from Japan now online will have to be through official stores (like Pokemon Center online)... OP of the video was given those boxes from one of their viewers who bought it from a mercari store begging them to go through the cards as one of the boxes they went through turned out to be a scam and as a result, they were. How sad... thanks for sharing the news with us, as usual! I never thought to check out Pokemon TCG in Japanese too I just might subscribe to them since it was pretty fun to watch them go through said cards!

Hope my guy doesnt screw me! I got a vstar universe box from him last month and all was good (got the Gold Palkia and a handful of other good pulls). I trust him, but if they are this believable, he could scam me, because he got scammed and didn't even know! Scary tbh. Scarlet EX is on the way, ill definitely be paying close attention, and this will probably be my last Japanese product, other than singles, for awhile.

I think PC for both US and JPN need to not only use seal with logos but also place VOID stickers (the ones that indicate tampering if they are cut or lifted with a peeler) on all edges that can possibly be opened. Sucks that it may have to go this far but less people are going to buy sealed product of the integrity of the box with the current security is in question.

Welp I guess I won't be getting japanese booster boxes anymore... it was nice while it lasted probably just get the singles I want but it feels like my collecting is thinning out because of all crappy people out there with the re sealing and over pricing it's just sad I'll probably just get an etb from PC and that's it

The only way they can help stop this is by doing those pull tabs on all 4 corners and have seals of authenticity on the as well that can't be ripped off without tearing the box like crazy on all 4 sides. That's the only way to end it.

With the MSRP prices going up on product from the company. How come japanese boxes dont have the repeated pokemon logo on the sealed plastic wrap? Was always a red flag when receiving an english booster box with plain wrapping... I love theyre taking extra steps with the peel tab, but its still not enough apparently 😞

I bit the bullet and bought 6 boxes of S&v unsealed.( 3 of each) $70. I noticed that you could go through the side and felt sick to my stomach. I bought them bc that rip seal was still intact but yeah I noticed it's not even a factor. Luckily they were legit and I Even pulled the dumb expensive female sar (forgot her name). But I'm probably not gonna take that risk again

Why do they put so much effort rubbing serial number off and printing correct number in pack only for vstar universe, a set which has a certain number of types of hits, might as well just fill with gi joe everyone knows it’s a scam box by then 😂 I can see them doing that for sets like scarlet violet tho. So I just ordered a few sets of scarlet and violet ex boxes, 1 from smoke and mirrors and 1 from eBay direct form Japan. How should I go about inspecting tampering
Check the sides for glue, check the wrapping for defects, and look at your packs. If they seem off check lot numbers under the pack slit
I've been wanting to buy VStar Universe, but after hearing about all the tampering from Eevee Heroes and now the increased resealing tech, I think I will stay away or buy singles.

Daaaaam it. I was about to order some for vstar universe and vmax climax boxes. But now hearing from you about this is just pointless to continue. It was enought that shiny starV was at high price in the beginning but they weren't tampered like now. This has gotten out of hand and Pokemon company should be aware this isn't right. Regardless that Pokemon is making the money no matter what happen after distribution, but the principal of tampering and theft does not clear the issue of their brand. This is horrible for this hobby!
VMax climax might be ok, but VStar universe I would just go through a trusted store. Fixed rate one stop personally… too many hands raise the risk of this happening.. thank you homie 🙏🏽

I only ever buy 1-3 boxes of a set so I always get my boxes for msrp. Haven t been lucky with vstar universe tho but at some point i ll get a box or two. Almost done getting all the actual pokemon pokemon cards only need to pull the trainer cards now haha.

The only reliable places to buy boxes from Japan now online will have to be through official stores (like Pokemon Center online)... OP of the video was given those boxes from one of their viewers who bought it from a mercari store begging them to go through the cards as one of the boxes they went through turned out to be a scam and as a result, they were. How sad... thanks for sharing the news with us, as usual! I never thought to check out Pokemon TCG in Japanese too I just might subscribe to them since it was pretty fun to watch them go through said cards!

Hope my guy doesnt screw me! I got a vstar universe box from him last month and all was good (got the Gold Palkia and a handful of other good pulls). I trust him, but if they are this believable, he could scam me, because he got scammed and didn't even know! Scary tbh.

It's absolutely nuts that they are not only selling these for ballooned prices, and then scam you like this on top of it. And it's not even me I'm worried about, I can afford to learn a lesson and get a bad box. But with all this I really do worry about the kids, the ones who finally saved up enough to buy a box they want and may not be able to again for a long while. Just to get ripped off like this. Makes me so angry to think about.
