    IDk Japanese cards seemed to be made for the customer/collector more, the cards we all know are much better quality, if you grade for 9's and 10's Japanese cards are great and I also find the hit rates for great cards are just way better, less bulk and even the bulk cards are such good quality, me I don't play the game like most collectors, I like the art work and Japanese is the best for that

    I feel the conversation from yesterday's live stream missed the point of your response video in using 10/20 years of historical data for investment and the hypothetical of if you compare dollar for dollar (even with matching 401k contributions) where the different investment streams would land you.
    As I like your approach to videos, I'd really appreciate if you could share some recommendations of English speaking creators focusing on the Japanese Pokemon TCG markets.
    I'm interested in building a foundation of knowledge before doing anything more than the one off collecting. I think you've made some very reasonable points here. I will throw out there we've seen in the past where an English set card goes up a bunch in price and then the Japanese follows. Might be some plays there. Also if you have a Japanese set card that was made into a promo in English this may give the Japanese card more desirability due to it being the harder chase.

S&V changed that, sellers were selling at a high price point the market correction has seen those sealed products fall in value. I overpaid for S&V, but still happy with my purchases in the SW&SH. Win some, loose some. With the gong show that is going on with 151 and price manipulation, it has turned me off of going so hard with Japanese and I'm going to focus on sealed English more.

    Japanese 151 total cards graded 275k, english 151 graded 103k. English is certainly more popular here, but its hard to make a blanket statement that its more popular worldwide. Just depends on what metric you want to use. English is usually harder to grade so the 10s usually carry a premieum.

    • @JohnDoe-ld8nr
      @JohnDoe-ld8nr 2 месяца назад

      @@JohnDoe-ld8nr TPC doesnt release statements with logistics in the way you might hope. Theres no "proof" that more english cards are made than japanese per year. Pokemon doesn't release print numbers in that fashion. Only way I could think of to get any glimpse at how many are made, are population reports. Japanese cards graded per set usually dwarf english. Eh... English may sell faster, but japanese booster box prices go higher and do it faster. Lost Abyss recently sold on eBay for $190. They costed $35 at one point. That's about 5x. You aren't seeing that anytime soon on english side. In addition, more product isn't always good. There's a million booster boxes being held onto to dump later on the english side.

    One thing I will say is for 151 Japanese set is way better than English. Print quality of Japanese is so much better and the master ball holo is amazing. English psa10s are much harder to get 10s than Japanese, which could have a huge influence in price. I am collecting both for sealed and graded cards but have a feeling Japanese will perform better. Master ball holo are just way more rare than any English 151 card. I honestly collect more for fun than investment though. The investment side of it is really just an excuse to spend money on cards 😂😂

    What made me hate "investing" in japanese product is that nowadays there are a lot of people doing scummy things with importing products from japan to europe. In europe you have to pay rather high taxes (18%-25%) everytime you import things so if you are a criminal and declare incorrectly or use blackship etc you can obv get product way cheaper than the rest making it an very uneven playingfield which benefits criminals. That s why I sold 99% of my collection last year in june which turned out to be the perfect time. Another thing thats bad about japanese product is that there is no way to know if it s resealed or not no matter how much you know about the product there is no way finding out if it s good or not unless you open it but then again it s the same with most products(looking at magic etc.). Also the people investing in japanese product (outside of japan) realy suck most of the time or atleast i ve made a lot of shitty experiences.

      Your going a little far with that one this made me laugh so hard . Honestly for your investment sake I hope it goes well for you . Everytime I look at English cards at 200 for a psa10 then see 40 psa 10 Japanese . One play I know that does exist tho is ppl get booster boxes for cheap open up a set that is not out yet in English and grade everycard from the set and sell high first to market . I noticed that is a huge play with Japanese with slabs . But as soon as the English cards come out and stabilize and get graded that market collapses and English cards go up and Japanese goes way down . So I have to admit I noticed some plays with Japanese not gonna lie and I do feel like quality is better as a whole . But I don’t believe the Japanese market will ever pass the English . Unless it’s a specialty set or certain card they don’t have in English or the wifu craze . English will always hold way more value to me in the end for sealed and slabs

    Nomics, you should do a bit of research before advancing arguments that are quite weak. Like one piece, pokemon japanese language is preferred than english for all Asian continent, do your math. Japanese Sword & Shield booster boxes relative to their msrp , have outperform english even in in scarlet & violet(english sells ar 30-50% discount, while japanese at msrp). I do collect both but lately im a bit nervous how the english market is overheating, probably symptomatic of a small bubble forming. Also sets like lost origin, I won't touch as stepmothers & ex wives have all but bought a case of it...not saying all the hype that pushed people to clean the pokemon center...meaning the supply must be huge, now like in the musical chair game, many will fall probably, the smarter are already selling.

      If you look at those numbers only up until 2021 it tells a different story though. The last couple years have thrown things off and in my opinion are not indicative of the future so be careful is all I'm saying..

      Not sure we are looking at the same data, look at lost origin japanese compared to its msrp , and compare it with the english one... there's many other 151 being the last..

      @moonbreon lost origin wasn't even released until during the Japanese boom lol. I said look at data before this bubble formed. I am expecting things to return to that normal is what I am saying.

      If you look at how sets from xy sm performed up until 2022 or so it's a very different story

      Why don't you show the numbers, the current prices, 151 aside in Pokemon do not reflect your opinion.
