I'm glad that not everyone agrees or believes in Pokémon investing. I see the astronomical gains that certain sets hit after a certain amount of time. Literally the same thing as a stock investment maturing over time but with a tangible item in your hand. Its like buying property, you do so on the low. I bought a property when I thought it was at its low but it dipped $60,000 more after I bought. Only a quick flipper would panic. I was in it for the long run and now have seen 272.92% gains. If I bought into Pokémon Platinum Booster boxes which came out the same year as I bought my property those boxes since have gained approximately 7900%. No you cannot live in a Booster box but those who keep saying that Pokémon is not an investment just aren't looking at the numbers.
I love this video. You backed up every point with facts rather than getting upset. I loved how Collin did it as well. I disagree with one thing you said. You said there is only one group of people that doesn’t belong in the hobby. I believe all the negative people that keep tearing people down also don’t belong. I have invested safe and volatile stocks and I have lost money. I have also made money as well. You can’t say stocks are safer than Pokémon because anything can go up and anything can go down. I love how you say investing in pokemon is the fun part of your investment and should not be where you put all your investment money in. I know there’s people out there that have tried investing and they’ve lost money or maybe they just like to tear people down. This guy is feeling this negative contact to tear others down and to get views. If you don’t like the content don’t watch. You don’t need to be negative. I love the content here because it’s fair it’s realistic and I we never you say that anything is 100% guaranteed. I will end with this; very rare are there booster boxes that don’t increase in price after a year period. Things go up simply because there is nothing left and demand for the product has increased.
Well said Michael, you’re both great content creators. I like watching you and JLuv, you both produce quality content and give different perspectives of the hobby. Top stuff mate🤙
While I'd rather there not be scalpers I still understand why some people do it. Times are hard, people are trying to scrape extra cash in. The big scalping consortiums are a bit weird but I don't mind if someone does a bit of flipping to put food on the table.
I think at the end of the day these people know damn well it's a good investment, they just for some reason don't like it and like to try and persuade people not to do it
Same happens in Magic as well, they are all above a certain age and all act the same way very predictable. Mislead mislead and when reality sets in its all about cope. Scalpers suck in all forms of consumerism for sure, but they are just creating more volume ultimately increasing the value of pokemon cards in the long-run, feeding the company with an abundance of allocation. Do I scalp? no. Do I hate scalpers? Yes. But if they want to help pump value in the end it is a good thing for collectors/investors in the longrun.
Deception tactic approved, scammers will be scamming. Beware when listening to these guys on "investing" advice. It is not what you are lead to believe.
They will protect one another, its part of the game. When someone questions what they are actually doing here they half to protect their racket. He has not established anything or answered any of my legitimate questions about how this business operates. I mean this is a business right Oz? All these apparatuses are business masked as investing channels. In reality your business is a scam you habe provided no proof that you know anything you are talking about. This sounds like a parrrot account obvious red flags and many questions unanswered. This channel is not what anybody is lead to believe.
But what's the real difference between an investor and a scalper? Time? Both create artificial demand and keep cards out of the hands of "real" consumers.
Investors buy when there’s 3-4 years worth of stock at msrp or less meaning the “real consumer” can also purchase or ‘invest’ scalpers buy out the market as soon as stock is released thus influencing the market 👍🏻
I like to think of it in reference to the share market. Day traders v traditional investors. Traditional investors are focused on the overall fundamentals of the company, whereas as day traders will pump stocks and sell instantly. Much the same as pokemon investors are focused on the long term performance of a set and the fundamentals of the set, where as scalpers buy out the product and re sell to other consumers at an inflated price, that couldn't otherwise get it.
Time of day, poke oz is living on another planet with that explanation, that's like a a purple pill or something absolutely insane take. There is no difference its just dumb rhetoric and narrative.
Can't accept reality? You know this is trash how old are you and you believe this regurgitated trash? Sorry mate but I do not fall in line with the brainwashed or the sheeple. I see exactly what is going on here. Oz has not answered any of my questions. He is hiding he tried to use ridicule but he know that will not work. It is possum mode now. Parrot mode is over.
Fascinating! Agree that it takes huge amount of effort to sell. But, imagine a day where some smart pants figured out a way to address this huedle in the future, paying the way for more investors to move into pokemon. A tiny 0.1% allocation by institutional funds would make Rudy look like peanuts in comparison.
I think you’re very considerate in the industry of sales. Perhaps it’s a bit influenced by being involved with product that is in demand both at work and with your hobby. You can then focus more on educating buyers. I suppose okJLUV may be talking about selling for the wrong reasons - like scalpers, except targeting any RUclipsr wrongly selling investment advice, but he doesn’t really know what you’re about. I think there’s a place for investing in collectables and there’s information to be shared about that which I think is what your channel is about. I think you believe in what you say and it resonates with the audience’s rationalisation rather than it just being what they want to hear. Including sensationalizations about making people rich.
I collect Blister packs (XY SM SWSH) also tins, mini tins (CZ mini tin display boxes for example) huge opportunity with those with the Charizard & Marnie tins being worth more than the other tins. Got 4 of those displays for $40 a box 🔥 I actually have zero booster boxes. The reason is, I truly collect what I love. If I don't really like it, I'm not investing in it. That's really how you do it. Otherwise you will be losing sleep haha.
There'll always be demand for those too. Down the track when booster boxes reach huge heights, people can still buy a few tins to open of those saught after sets!

Very keen observation, Oz here is well aware of all his own deception tactics and sales tactics played here. He must do very well in sales obviously he is really good if he is pouring it into Pokemon. Another key factor is his ego, all salesmen have it no matter what. Oz here will not like the fact he will half to operate with the knowledge that we know what tactics he is employing. Very very deceptive behavior coming from our car salesman here. Remember he is good at up selling you but bad at actual real-time data. I would like to know how much he does a year in cars but his deception might not allow it.

Listen, I love pokemon and I have a huge collection, but all of these prices are at the whim of the market just like anything else. Pokemon could reprint all of sword and shield tomorrow and destroy the market; conversely it may never be printed again and the prices now could be super low compared to another year of growth. Hindsight is always 20/20. Ultimately I never spend more than I am willing to lose on pokemon cards that is just a good rule for me.
It's definitely more of a speculation than an investment. You're right about not putting in what you can't afford! It's good fun though if you follow that rule.
I watched most of the stream. It was OK. CTR was interesting to hear toward the end. I dont watch all of his stuff, but he is damn entertaining. The loose tie guy and the I collect cardboard dude seem like they would be cool to have a beer with. I enjoy Nomics content and cant disagree with his longer term strat, he just isnt super charasmatic. Not his fault really, he seems like a nice enough guy. I dont blame him for feeling the need to defend himself repeatedly. The Aussie guy seems like a smarmy bloke that just stirs the pot but really dosent offer anything of value (oh no I said value). Maybe thats just his shtick. OBud likes to talk shit and he is good at it. Colin = a big goofy kid that loves Pokemon. I watch some of all of them and enjoy the stories and opinions. It was content. Thats what I learned. Oh, and some dude has a giant warehouse filled to the roof with sealed. Thats a pretty good summary. Always enjoy the content OZ. Keep up the joy.
If i can make the comparison to crypto.. its all about homework and understanding. With crypto, the people that take the time to understand the tokenomics of a project usually make wise bets, and money thereafter. Conversely, those that ape in at the height of markets once its close to its peak lose out. With Pokemon its the same. Once you begin to understand the cycles sets go through on release, and the sets that stand out, it becomes quite easy to park money where itll grow. For instance, it was pretty plain to see sets like Chilling, Fusion, and Lost Origin were undervalued with beautiful alts that were in demand and hard to pull. I bought booster cases of each at around a $120 per box average. Now theyve sold out, now they grow. Find the stand out sets with stand out arts and tough pull rates. Buy, hold, rinse, repeat. 🤷♂️🤟
Seems harsh that you've been in both Jluv and Opposums videos on this topic when you constantly talk about risk and the 5% rule. I wonder if they've ever watched one of your videos. 🤔
Exactly no real.data presented now we do see. Not in Ozs fantasy world the real numbers would never add up. Its a false narrative promoted as factual and when questionijg the creators intentions the is no logical answer but one that comes from ego. Some of us are not blind or sheeple, the sales tactics here are subpar.
Evolutions was printed for over 4 years.. Hidden fates had multiple waves of tins and etbs reprinted 3/4 years after its initial release.. Ultra prism got a reprint (albeit it small) after the set was out of rotation. Unbroken bonds also got a smaller wave release. S&M base etbs got restocked on Pokemon center 4 years after its release.. Also team up and celestial storm had briefly popped up years after rotation just before the s&m base etbs dropped… There’s 5 examples 😜
Egos are hurt, a little perspective PokeOz is not a financial expert nor TCG expert but parades around like the rest of them with false data and narratives.
Really good real world example there mate!
Great video mate! Enjoyed your perspective🔥
Thanks, mate! I had a listen to yours as well, well said 👌
I love this video.
Very well said mate! 👌
Well said Michael, you’re both great content creators.
I like watching you and JLuv, you both produce quality content and give different perspectives of the hobby.
Top stuff mate🤙
Thanks heaps mate! I look forward to seeing the video with okjluv, nostalgia nomics and opposum bud!
While I'd rather there not be scalpers I still understand why some people do it. Times are hard, people are trying to scrape extra cash in. The big scalping consortiums are a bit weird but I don't mind if someone does a bit of flipping to put food on the table.
Yep, it happens everywhere when times get hard hey man. People will see opportunity in anything!
You're famous! Great publicity for the channel :)
Always happy to debate pokemon investing 😌
I think at the end of the day these people know damn well it's a good investment, they just for some reason don't like it and like to try and persuade people not to do it
We're not saying put the mortgage on it, but it's the funnest investment I've ever had!
Same happens in Magic as well, they are all above a certain age and all act the same way very predictable. Mislead mislead and when reality sets in its all about cope. This is why nobody is talking about 151 and whomever is seems scared to do so. Bizarre to say the least considering it is the investment of the year. Oz here is in cope world and will try to say I'm wrong. Yawn you guys are idiots.
@nativeretrospective6931 I'm not sure what your point is, man. It's hard to gauge it through all the insults. Are you saying English 151 is a better investment than Japanese?
@@nativeretrospective6931 If you don't believe in investing in this stuff then why are you watching this channel? And what do you mean no one's talking about 151?
Given 151's popularity it would be astonishing to see the English set not get reprinted, and I won't be picking any up until then (other than the couple of cases of PC ETBs I bought at retail as I knew they'd sell out fast) If you're talking about Japanese 151 I'll probably pick some up during this month's reprint depending on how low it goes.
As for SwSh boxes I'm seriously happy with the gains I've made so far and these things are literally just selling out now! Making some very nice gains on alt arts too! I can promise you I'm not "misleading" you this is fact!

A fair point mate 👌
I was waiting for your response Oz! Love your rational and level headed approach here.
Good to see a new video man!
Deception tactic approved, scammers will be scamming. Beware when listening to these guys on "investing" advice. It is not what you are lead to believe.
@@nativeretrospective6931 Thanks for your input bud! But Oz is a personal friend of mine, and he’s not a scammer. Take a chill pill and simmer down
Thanks, heaps legend. Look forward to the next podcast!
@@nativeretrospective6931 omg who hurt you?? Your either a hater or a troll, either way you should probably just move on
Can't accept reality? You know this is trash how old are you and you believe this regurgitated trash? Sorry mate but I do not fall in line with the brainwashed or the sheeple. I see exactly what is going on here. Oz has not answered any of my questions. He is hiding he tried to use ridicule but he know that will not work. It is possum mode now. Parrot mode is over.
He’s got the glasses on. Anybody trying to craptalk him automatically loses their argument. All class
Haha not sure it quite works like that but appreciate it bro 😅
Hit the nail on the head there mate! Keep up the great videos. Keep buying 151!!!!
Thanks legend!
Rudy, the goat 🐐 oh mate, imagine!
I hold onto just enough to make it fun. Don’t know how I’m going to unload it all in 5-10+ years but figure that out later
Nice work mate!
@pokeoz91 videos always fun to listen to in the morning on the way to work. See what others are doing and if my strategy is good or not.
Thanks for making this video. Should clear everything up
Glad it was helpful!
Yep, you've hit the nail on the head mate 👌
I collect Blister packs (XY SM SWSH) also tins, mini tins (CZ mini tin display boxes for example) huge opportunity with those with the Charizard & Marnie tins being worth more than the other tins. Got 4 of those displays for $40 a box 🔥
I actually have zero booster boxes.
@@pokeoz91 absolutely man. And hey, keep being you. You seem like a down to earth, humble guy. I respect that. Don't let anything get to your head. I love your takes and opinions. They usually always align with mine. And you know what they say... Great minds think alike 😎
Awesome video as always Oz! Keep it up! ❤
Thanks a ton!
Good video as always. Been following for couple months now and your vids are always fun to watch. Thanks for all the efford you put into your videos. Hope you reach 100k subs because i think you deserve it heck even million😅.
Oh mate, that would be amazing! Thanks heaps 👌
Great response vid Oz. I do wish there was an opportunity for you to have an open discussion in real time with JLuv and NostalgiaNomics so maybe yall revisit that in the future.
Also be aure to take most of this with a grain of salt. You can only be as honest and earnest as you have been. You can only present data and facts as much as you have been. If people wanto hear that information, disregard it and assume malintent with little or no proof/data to support their position, unfortunately theres nothing you can do about it.
We appreciate you 🤙
Appreciate that mate. The videos definitely won't stop and the love for the hobby definitely won't stop 😌
You must be a good carsalesman. Where i live in Ottawa, dealership are owned by few huge names. And since this is a government city, they dont lower the prices like Toronto or smaller towns. Some of thr salesman that been in the business also assholes and the managers as well. Worled in detail section in this day and age, they still have to clean brand new cars by hand when others have automated washers in their dealerships. I also hate ghat $3500 cad warranty they trick customers to finance. Such a huge rip off on brand new cars.
But anyways hopefully you like that in this business, i see pokemon is something that helps get you away from your day job and yo enjoy your hobby!
Where its at, keep going!
Thanks man, yeah it's a great side hobby to take the mind off the day job!
On fire with the uploads lately ✊🔥
I try to get out 3 a week bro but wanted to upload a response video 👌
You and Alpha investment Rudy is all I follow
Appreciate that mate. He's several levels above me, though! 🐐🐐
I think most people assume pokemon is only for kids and thats why they cant justify the investment side of it.
I mean it was meant for kids. But those kids are now us, adults. And we've continued on creating a new element to the hobby! 👌
No capital gains tax in Australia!? ✈️💼
On collectibles purchased under $500. Of course there is on shares and properties 😅
@@pokeoz91 that first part is still enough for me to love it 😂
@@fdjizm haha come on down!
@@pokeoz91 my former taxation tutor from uni told me that the cost of a purchase is apportioned when selling also so technically if you paid A$999.99 for a case of LO, you could sell 3 boxes ($499.995) and avoid CGT altogether. Pretty sweet!
I’m gonna start a go fund me to get you that team up BB my ocd needs to see it with the rest of your SM collection lol
Hahaha that's so good man!
Wonderful video!
Glad you liked it!
its a free market . I dont care what ppl do with their money. If they want to take giant risk and buy it all up. Who am I to tell them what to do? But thats just me and i wont argue w anyone bc we all have our own opinions. thats all they are
The only ppl I dont like are those who are using products to alter or enhance cards or submissions and are deceiving their customers. We have no idea what some of these products will do to the cards long term. . but again thats just my opinion!
We all have doubts on your plays. If we didnt we would not be human. No matter how long youve been in the game
💯
Exactly right mate, I do agree with Jluv that there's so many channels presenting numbers/advice now. We all just need to make our own calls based off advice 👌
That's a great philosophy mate!
It's definitely more of a speculation than an investment. You're right about not putting in what you can't afford! It's good fun though if you follow that rule.
Pokeoz well said man 💙
Thanks, man!
Thank you sir
You're welcome!
Glad you enjoyed it. Disappointed I couldn't join!
Lets go baby! Fire hype crazy wild
Let's go!
well spoken gent
Thank you sir!

Great video as always mate!
Thanks a ton!
Very well said mate 👏
@@pokeoz91 thank you! Keep up the great content.
Seems harsh that you've been in both Jluv and Opposums videos on this topic when you constantly talk about risk and the 5% rule. I wonder if they've ever watched one of your videos. 🤔
I'm not sure, possibly not. It would have been great to catch up with them both this morning. Another time 👌

Legend!
His entire video was based on the premise that PC can reprint anything at any time...yet he could provide no example when this has happened.
Sweet handle, jayquaza 😎
Also team up and celestial storm had briefly popped up years after rotation just before the s&m base etbs dropped…
There’s 5 examples 😜
@@dspill1090 You missed Roaring Skies. It happens a lot. It usually still goes up but reprints do happen.
Yeah I meant examples where people have lost a load of money and the product never recovered.

Egos are hurt, a little perspective PokeOz is not a financial expert nor TCG expert but parades around like the rest of them with false data and narratives. Remember people this old content creator is a salesman, his goal is to sell his channel and his BS ideals. His goal is to mislead not to help you in your investing journey. These people.are coping everyday why does this joker not talk about 151 or Crown Zenith? He wants to sell you into hype into highs it's a scammer tactic.
No ego is hurt at all, man. It's a follow-up video presenting a counterargument 😅
Pretty straight forward there old mate. Hold product and it will go up. Buy on the lows and sell on the highs. Simple straight forward tactic! How is this a scammer view? lol 🤡🤡
Wtf pokeoz isn’t a scammer. 😂He’s a knowledgeable nice guy. He isn’t misleading anybody.. he gives great advice and insight into the Pokemon investing hobby.
PokeOz in all his great gen x wisdom will never say to buy a PSA 10 Umbreon Vmax Alt Art. It goes against his business model, it goes against everything they stand for and promote. Lots of hidden data right now that's for sure.
