The main reason why I prefer Japanese 151 over English is that I can pull a hit and have the first thought of “nice, lets go” instead of “let me check the quality”
That used to be 100% true but it's not always the case anymore. Probably for 151 but several JPN sets had garbage quality with print lines all over the secret rares.
Facts ! English quality is booty, they really need to take notes from Japan on that also change the backing to a lighter color so they don’t look beat up right out of the pack , the dark blue just shows too much whitening.
Here are some advantages that Japanese Pokémon cards have over English Pokémon cards 1. Japanese Pokémon cards have better quality 2. Japanese Pokémon cards are much easier to grade
I believe that even though, the English 151 Pokemon cards have better pull rates, the Japanese version has more expensive cards because they are harder to pull.
This didn’t age very well… highest card from Japanese 151 is a master ball gengar. $170 raw and like $250-$300 PSA 10. The charizard is like $90-100 raw $140 at a PSA 10. English charizard is $600 at a PSA 10 and more than the Japanese PSA 10 as a raw card.
@@Chris-vz2kv the availability/want for the set. The Japan set is getting reprinted fs but the English one I believe is only getting a small on in February. Also because Japanese 151 cards are just better quality than their English counterpart.. making a good quality English card more because you can’t find them as easily as a perfect Japanese one.
In general JPN cards is better overall in terms of quality control, especially centering. But for 151 it seems there’s quite a fair bit of cutting and print line issues bugging the JPN set. Also 1 major disadvantage of JPN cards is probably u may not be able to sell away your bulk unlike ENG bulk where you can sell on Ebay, TCGPlayer etc. Though the big hit cards for JPN in general is higher in value than ENG ones.
In Japan , You can buy one pack for 180 yen (1.2 dollars) at convenience stores, a box with 30 packs for 5000 yen(32dollars) from the official Pokémon store (sometimes 3600 yen(23 dollars) in large electronic retail stores), boxes with promo cards but less packs for about 3000 yen on the official store (under 2000yen in most electronic stores),
I mean if their boosters go for 50 bucks in Japan and theres 20 packs wouldnt that make their packs worth 2.50ish retail in japan? They get a guarantee SR or better and a masterball per box and theres not guaruntee for english? They get 20 packs for the same price we get 9. Yeah its more expensive to collect Japanese if you live in the US but it sure seems like this isnt a 1 to 1 comparison
We get usually 30 packs in a box for around 5000 yen official price or sometimes even 3600 yen at some electronic retailers toy corners. (151 is not officially sold in boxes, so that may be why it only has 20 packs in them. some stores do still sell them as generic priced box at 5000 yen) 5000 yen = 32 dollars 3600 yem = 23 dollars 1 pack costs 180 yen = 1.2 dollars and they are sold at convenience stores. Some people even buy the whole carton of the boxes.
For me, if its a set i dont care for much but i love the certain cards i go japanese because the print quality, holo and textures are better in everyway. if its a set i like most of the cards in i buy english so i can just go to my local card shop and open a pack and pull for fun. examples: 151 english set, i love the entire set and would love to just have fun opening packs. raging surf japanese set bought the yvelta, groudon, and garchomp ex.
Korean if you want cheap in the west ;D Other languages (spanish ect) are extremely expensive in the west and also worth buying the boxes because they can actually profit ;)
Quality of the uk cards vs Japanese is vastly different I feel at the moment. I’m not sure when the uk will get more 151 deliveries pretty much all booster boxes are sold out! Hoping to get some more for Xmas. Has anyone seen anything on uk restock?
I just bought 10 packs of japanese packs at 20 usd which is 40 usd to English packs I still don't understand the market but I think for now it's better to invest in Japanese cards. Buy low sell high
I’m sorry but whatnot is not a good deal. Packs are over priced because streamers own a percentage to whatnot and then there is shipping costs. Why would anyone buy a pack rip through them when they could get them off tcgplayer
There are some that sell better in Japanese and some in English. I was working on NM ungraded shining Neo era Pokémon and god was that frustrating to do in Japanese!
Bro this actually sucks, because one time I was opening crown zenith and pulled pikachu Galarian gallery and thought it was worth $100 but turns out it’s worth $4
It’s a bubble and it will pop. On average English has a better average per card value. There are so many losers in Japanese to have a few winners. That’s why it’s a bubble, and it will pop.
Kids who actually want to play and trade Pokemon cards cannot even buy booster packs let alone booster boxes here in Japan thanks to toxic influencers like you
The main reason why I prefer Japanese 151 over English is that I can pull a hit and have the first thought of “nice, lets go” instead of “let me check the quality”
Are the Japanese better quality like a landcruiser built in Japan vs Corolla built elsewhere?
That used to be 100% true but it's not always the case anymore. Probably for 151 but several JPN sets had garbage quality with print lines all over the secret rares.
Same
I like the Japanese version of 118

Thought you were going to touch base on the print quality differences between English and Japanese cards.
This is huge. I don't buy any English because of this.
the golden mew isn;t a promo , the metal golden mew is the promo, you can pull the golden mew from english set
one must get an editor!
@@nah4215and you know everything?
I believe that even though, the English 151 Pokemon cards have better pull rates, the Japanese version has more expensive cards because they are harder to pull.
Japanese have more value than English. Japanese Mew ex value is triple what the English version is.

So you're getting more beautiful and higher quality cards for less money, isn't this good unless you're only into pokemon tcg for money making?

You can sell your bulk in Japan. Just gotta find those secondhand stores.
Question: why do the English 151 rare cards go for more money when purchasing graded cards?
@slater1949 print quality is worse so when you get a 9 or 10 it's worth much more
There are 3 reasons why JPN cards are more expensive. Supply. Rarity and Condition.
So why the English ones are going for more money on eBay?
Very deep analysis man thanks

9:10 you're kidding right? 😂
You should compare quality next time
you have to open 3 etbs to match the marketplace
For cards for card, yes

Where did you get that bulbasuar in ur background? i need it brandon!
I’m having massive issues with the poke ball and master ball cards. Factory lines all over the place…
I love the Japanese set but pull rates are way better in English
Japanese Pokémon cards are easier to grade then English cards
Pull rates are better in Japanese actually
@@imkolip0ki387in the video he just stated that the pull rate is lower with the Japanse that’s why their value is much higher
I got charmander, mewtwo promo, machoke and Giovanni illustration + 15 pokeball holo in one Japanese box(20 packs). Is that good?
Comparing a product with 8 packs to a product with 30 packs to figure out pull rates is so dumb lol.
Hey mystic rips I got a question for you. What is your favourite Pokémon card set ?
This aged well
Why can the company that prints the English version get a way with such bad quality? Is the quality control just not there?
who knows how much a vstar japanese mewtwo is? i cant find a set price on scanners
Unbeliveble what the different of prices are!
I still don't understand why the price diff of japanese cards vs English
Bro i just watched you other video about next event in PG and i thought i clicked to watch that video again cuz that Part about WhatNot again 😂
You can pull the gold mew in English

Where am I able to by Pokémon packs?
I am quite new to collect pokemon cards. Where can I check the market price of the japanese cards? On ebay or any specific web?
I go on cardpricer tcgplayer or eBay they all work.

I never thought that Carl from mrbeast would meet mystic rips
Yooo, mystic, really appreciate your videos! Keep up the good content, homie.🎉
I pulled a Mew SAR from a Japanese booster box🙂🤟🏽
I just bought 10 packs of japanese packs at 20 usd which is 40 usd to English packs I still don't understand the market but I think for now it's better to invest in Japanese cards. Buy low sell high
What time do you stream on TikTok???
Chinese is the best of both worlds since it has japanese textures and english paper thickness. Best quality over the rest.
I love the English version more
why am I limited to 720p??? but great video just wish I could watch it in 1080
I’m sorry but whatnot is not a good deal. Packs are over priced because streamers own a percentage to whatnot and then there is shipping costs. Why would anyone buy a pack rip through them when they could get them off tcgplayer
If you can get free credit it’s worth it, got two packs of 151 for like $4
Fast forward to now the JP 151 is $55 a box xD
Sad i cant join the drop because i live in new Zealand 😭😭😭😭
Is it a problem I pulled the golden metwo
i also have a radiant rare charizard in japanese as well
There are some that sell better in Japanese and some in English.
I was working on NM ungraded shining Neo era Pokémon and god was that frustrating to do in Japanese!
I feel like a bit of the reason Japanese cards sell for more kinda comes back to that one meme.
thing:😐😐
that samething in japan:🤩🗾🎌😍
I pulled the raichu master ball the gastly clefairy and victorybell
Thanks for the knowledge brother! Sending good vibes your way
151 is amazing!
This is great to know!!

i got erikas invintation sar on my second pack but it was english
Ive been gettin japanese cards for $1 an they dont seem to sell for much lately
Stop buying from what not
Why? It's cheaper than everywhere else. I've got so many good deals and bundles on there
this has changed now
I want to buy a booster box so bad but I'm so scared to get ripped off and sold fakes
Nope metal card wins my vote every time
i have a secret rare japanese energy card right now. i pulled it tonight. I HAVE PROOF😂
Hi, Mystic Rips
