    This reminds of a casey vlog. Miss it. But, I'm glad you guys did this. You guys replied already but it would be dope to have a front attachment so we can use the moment lens with the front lens.
    Twitch IRL is blowing up and noticed most of the streamers using the front cam.

    As soon as I put my lens on, I was really upset but trying to scheme a way to make it balance out. Good vid! Looks official. DJI should add a clip or something to the end to add weight to it or allow the balance arm to come out another inch

    You guys are awesome! Such great lenses. Watching the video you made in New York and I was just thinking about how incredible it is that we can create videos of such high-quality with OUR PHONE. I'm used to it already but every once in a while it blows me away at how amazing smartphones are. I own your macro and am looking at the 170 degree wide lens next. Keep up the great work.

  • @de2mkd

    Thats great. I am using the osmo mobile with the iPhone SE and it works great. Except the fisheye lens view. The weight works. But unfortunately there is the front joint of the osmo mobile in the picture, because of the extreme viewing angle. But in flashlight mode it works, with no part in view. This mode aint that stable in all circumstances/ moves, but its okay... YOU GUYS/ MOMENT make the best best best mobile lenses. I am so happy, as I used worse ones years before. Now i am in mobile gadgets / lens heaven :) Best regards from
    Germany, Roman

    • @moment
      @moment  7 лет назад +1

      Hey Roman!
      Glad you made it work! The Superfish definitely requires flashlight mode to so you don't see the motor because of the super wide FOV. Thanks for all the kind words :)

    Would using a 2nd Moment lens work as a suitable counterweight for the Oslo Mobile? Could you create a small lens holder that attached to the gimbal that would hold another Moment lens (Tele for instance) and have both a counterweight and lens holder all-in-one?

    I LIKE THE LENS, NOT THE MOUNT. The lens is great. I ordered the iPad Air version from Amazon and the iPhone 7PLUS lens MOUNT from Moment. The problem is, depending on the video app you use, you could get vignetting. The FILMIC PRO app has a wider field of view than the iPhone video app and it shows vignetting. The solution is to shoot in a narrower aspect ratio OR zoom in a very slight amount. But for $90, there should be NO vignetting. The other problem with the mount is that it's VERY hard to position it "correctly" and the instructions say you will damage "it" (the phone or the mount?) if you remove it. So, basically, it's permanent. (Not true) I ended up repositioning it a few times and now I'm concerned that the glue is weaker as a result and it could fall off. The Moment company REALLY needs to improve all of this, and I will need to request a replacement lens mount, "just in case".
    UPDATE: The Moment company sent (at no charge) a new, improved mount (supposedly): Now there is NO vignetting with the FLIMIC PRO app, nor with the Apple app, but THERE IS WORSE vignetting on the left edge with the DJI OSMO app. Weird. Moment reps have NO explanation for this, except to say, "WE KNOW ABOUT IT, SO BUY OUR NEW IMPROVED LENS COMING OUT IN FOUR MONTHS and preorder on Kickstarter." Wait, WHAT? The solution is to buy another lens?? This lens has been promoted as the GREATEST by Casey Neistat and other famous ppl on youtube. FAKE NEWS!
    UPDATE #2: With the new version of their wide angle lens, the Moment company is doing away with the glue-on lens mount and requiring us to buy one of their special iphone cases with a built-in mount. Good luck using that case with the Osmo or any other holster or iphone grip/rig.

Also when I force the iPhone 7 plus + moment case in position in the Osmo not only it doesn't balance left and right but also it tends to lean forward so when trying the balance the phone just fall face down face parallel to the floor? any solution to this? thanks

    Great product. Just wondering: you sure for the 6s with wide angle lens you don't need a counter balance? Coz the weight is on the camera side so I'm scared to use it with my osmo mobile. Have you guys tried with the 6s?

    Other than giving wider field of view by the wide angle moment lens, does the moment lens also enhance the quality of photos and videos like more vivid and sharper footage. Just new here, so just bear with me if my question is kinda stupid 🙂

    Awesome you guys! I was thinking of having osmo mobile and has been worried if the lens + case may unbalanced well on that. Searched around for related vids, and your official video popped. So I'm going to get one with worry free! I'm backer on kick starter of batt case for i7+. Will it balanced well like the photo case?

    • @moment
      @moment  7 лет назад +1

      Hey Xu Thanks! We have not officially tested the battery case yet with the OSMO, but I really don't think it is going to work well because of the additional weight. The 7+ iphone + lens + counterbalance is already a lot of the Osmos small motors to handle. I would say the less weight the better.

    Moment - I'm a hobby filmmaker, just like may RUclips content creators. Your cases hold your lens, I get that. However, what if I'm using a Mic like a Sure MV88, a microphone that plugs into the lightning port. Will your case work in this situation? I will be getting a iPhone X, hopefully on day one and that is my #1 concern with the Moment product. Thank you.

    Hello Moment, so i have the same setup with iphone 7plus, osmo mobile, moment phone case and wide lens and bought the 100g counterbalance weight. The problem is the mount that holds the phone is too tight for the phone even though it is extended fully and i have to use strong force to push it all the way in. And the real problem is when I turn on the osmo mobile and try to make side turns, the bottom part of the phone holder mount touches the top of the pan motor and it tries to rebalance and ruins the smooth shot. Basically this is not working. Can you guys come up with a thinner case or a case that will fit the osmo mobile? Maybe a clip?

However I'm a little stuck, I have an iPhone 6 and the Moment non-electronic photo case married to the new wide lens. But these seem to be too heavy for my DJI Osmo Mobile. • @MahmoodShafi0
    @MahmoodShafi0 7 лет назад +1

    It needs the counter weight
    even with 6s
    the motors work hard without it

    Will the original wide angle lens plus the mount plate on the iPhone 6s Plus require counter weight on the zhiyun smooth Q gimbal?

    • @moment
      @moment  7 лет назад

      Yes, any Plus sized phones + Lens will need a counter weight. Because the Plus sized phones move the center of mass out even farther.

    Just gotten a DJI Osmo and it's not liking the Moment case and its only working without a case.
    Edit: Found that the DJI Osmo's infared sensor hates all black cases. Put a strip of masking tape on the case and its working fine now :D

    Is there a way to make the moment case for iphone 6 work on the osmo? the protruding part from the bottom the caseof seems to not fit...

    • @moment
      @moment  7 лет назад +1

      Yea, all you have to do is line it up so the case handle grip is straight across the osmo grip and tighten down hard in the grip. Don't mount the phone at an angle.... Does that make sense?
      Basically the Osmo will only be gripping the protruding part from the bottom the case :)

    Hey i wanna ask,will it be overweight for osmo mobile when i have all three gears iphone 7 the lens and the battery case?

    • @moment
      @moment  7 лет назад +1

      Hey there, it will not work with the iPhone 7+ and battery case because the Osmo's motors are not strong enough for the weight. Will do some testing with the iPhone 7 and battery case once first round of manufacturing happens to see if that works.

    • @moment
      @moment  7 лет назад +1

      Ideally the less added weight the better for the OSMO

    Hello. Are you saying this "widens" the 7+ telephoto lens? By that I mean the lens that doesn't have OIS. This is where the problem lies with OIS and the the OSMO mobile. Funnily enough I suggested this as a solution on the DJI forum sometime ago and the idea was dismissed out of hand.
    Oh and by coincidence I just signed up this morning for kickstarter 👍

    • @ComPH2
      @ComPH2 7 лет назад

      Hi, Did you get an answer to your question? I don't think that it is a bad idea at all, considering the situation with the iPhone 7 (Plus) OIS. Did you find any of these lenses that would work with the "telephoto"lens of the iPhone 7 Plus? Thanks. Olloclip claims they do.

    • @krism1492
      @krism1492 7 лет назад

      It seems like only you and me think it might be a good idea as nobody has bothered to reply. This is a bit disappointing really since I have signed up for their kickstarter. Perhaps I will just have to wait and see.

    • @ComPH2
      @ComPH2 7 лет назад

      I guess that if you expect good results, the OIS situation bothers you. You'd think that Moment will bother to answer, since they don't I am suspicious of the situation. I've started with trying to build a Z-axis add on on the Zhiyun Smooth II (BTW, the Smooth Q and 3 supposedly have servos strong enough for adapter lens add ons), and concluded that the OIS on the darn iPhone 7 and Plus (I tried both) are extremely sensitive to any sort of big motion. I tried all sorts of things, and I don't see any realistic "disabling of the OIS). My old Samsung Galaxy S3 works just great in this respect, but the camera is too much out of date. Sure, the telephoto lens has lower aperture, etc. etc., but at least I will not be looking through jelly glass when I take the video. I also asked Moment customer service the same question. If I don't get an answer, I will go with the Olloclip, since they very specifically state that they do support the adapter over the telephoto of the iPhone 7 Plus.

      The funny thing is someone from moment came on the DJI forum and suggested this as some sort of solution after I had already suggested it. However when people asked questions moment did not reply.

    The amount of vignetting that I get on my 7 plus is very frustrating. For the money I invested into this lense I shouldn't be getting any. I use filmic pro and it's almost unbearable to record because of so much darkness around the corners.

      But you have the old lens right? The iPhone 7 lens is bigger that's why they had to make a new lens. The smaller original lens has to have some sort of vignetting as it is "to small" for your phone.

      yeah I weighed my v2 18mm lens at 76g... Took about 112-120g counter weight to get this thing working, the les is still super heavy and tilts the gimbal forward.

    I'm using an iphone7 with a DJI Osmo 2 and moment lenses and filming through filmic pro but for some reason my videos are still shaky. Any idea why this could be? I have stabilization in filmic turned off so it doesnt fight with the osmo but idk what to do beyond that. I wish I could post a picture of what I did to counter balance my 7+ &a osmo. I went to Home Depot and got a hex nut and double sided industrial Velcro. Cut the Velcro in a round shape for both the osmo and hex nut. Paste Velcro on both the hex nut and osmo. I used Velcro so I can alway remove the hex nut if I don't need it.
