    In the video he says he CANNOT use a 7+ with the moment lens! But you CAN: Here's what i did for the 7+: gaffer tape a counterweight on the osmo mobile gimbal using the EVO-SP (EVO brand) gimbal 1.5 oz counterweight. (I bought an extra one.) Perfect balance! (You could also use velcro.)

    • @Whiteinrevery
      @Whiteinrevery  7 лет назад +1

      Hey Jane, sorry for the misunderstanding. The + sign is meant to say "in addition to" moment lenses. So instead of saying iPhone 7 in addition to Moment lenses, We just titled it iPhone 7 + moment lenses. If we wanted to suggest the video was about the iPhone 7 plus, then then it would look like this: iPhone 7+. Sorry it seemed misleading. Thanks for the tip btw!

  • @preetuday

    thank you for inspiring us...and thank for being kind enough to share the gear information and bts....I have some queries if you dont mind....you said that you used and Iphone 7 not the 7plus.....is it not possible with the 7plus? is the weight or size of the 7plus an issue? and what if we add a counterweight for the 7plus to balance on the gimbal..do you think that would work? the reason I am asking is because I have a 7plus and I plan to buy the gear you have listed....thanks again

    • @Whiteinrevery
      @Whiteinrevery  7 лет назад +1

      You can use the 7 plus without the lens just fine. With the 7 and the lens, it was still leaning too much but the rig still calibrated it. I needed to add a counterweight for the 7 to get the best settings. I think the 7plus and lens would just be too much even with a counterweight. It might balance for a little bit but wear down the motor much quicker.

      I didn't understand what do you mean "I think the 7plus and lens would just be too much even with a counterweight"? What is "counterweight"?
      "wear down the motor much quicker" - what motor?
      I wanna buy it with mount plate for iPhone 7 Plus...
      www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1303087-REG/moment_lens_wide_lens_with_mounting.html

    • @chrisdaly3907
      @chrisdaly3907 7 лет назад +3

      He is referring to the weight of the iPhone plus with the moment lens WHEN used on the dji osmo. The osmo is a gimbal with motors that stabilize the video. The heavier weight of the plus with the lens is too much without counterweights to balance. Adding weight to "counter" this increased load would wear on the osmo motors. The moment lens fits just fine on the iPhone plus with the mounting plate, that's not the issue

    Your video of the Moab desert wedding is the most inspirational thing I have watched. It is absolutely incredible you got those results out of an iPhone! Did you use Filmic Pro to record it? If so, would you mind putting the settings you used in terms of aspect ratio, recording quality, etc? One last thing, what was the frame rate you captured it at? Do you shoot at 48 fps in order to slow it down for the slow motion clips? Thanks!

    Excellent work, congratulations, but I have a question, how do you eliminate the problem of movement that is generated by the struggle between the two stabilizers ?, the mixing of the stabilizer of the iphone and the stabilizer of the DJI sometimes generates a strange movement of zoom and deformation of the space.
    All this you can delete in post processing?

    Congrats, really mindblowing work! Would be extremely helpful, if you could comment on that vast discussion on the Iphone 7/6 plus Optical Image Stabilization issues (most of the Users get constantly nasty jitters) when using those devices with the DJI Osmo Mobile. Some users state that with Filmic Pro they can resolve that issue. Nevertheless, there are other users that uploaded examples where this is still the case in spite of that App.
    this damn Problem still Keeps me from buying the Osmo Mobile. :( You seemed to have found a way to make this work - would you mind to share that Knowledge?

      always room to improve. Waiting on DJI to jus release the Osmo Mobile head that can be attached the other Osmo handle with the z-axis extension getting rid of all the 'walk' wobble shots ;)

      I have the original OSMO mobile, right now with the Black friday sales The M1 adaptor is about the same as buying a brand new OSMO MOBILE. the only difference would be that the OSMO MOBILE isn't compatible with the Z-Axis that would take care of the Z axis wobbles.
      What would you recommend? buying a brand new OSMO mobile to be able to quickly shoot between the two without changing or B) Buy the M1 adaptor for my existing OSMO with a Z-Axis. Have you tested the last one with an iPhone X and what is your thought on that option (OSMO plus M1 plus Z-Axis plus iPhone X)

    Hi White! Im from Brazil. At first, great job you did in this movie, amazing. So, may I ask you something and help please if you can: I was at moment's website and I've saw that the Lens' diameter is 34,5mm. What did you do for using the 39 ring on it? Thanks so much.

      The inner diameter of the 39mm ring is closer to 38mm. The screw on section is 39. We just used gaffer tape to add inside the step up ring in order for it to slide onto the moment lens and stay on. In the beginning of this video we hold up the step up ring to the camera so you can kind of see the tape inside. Hope that helps :)

    Hey there ! I love this video so much. I bought the sensei 39-49mm ring and moment wide lens. I wanted to make it fits before i buy the ND filter. However, the ring does not fit. Seems like wide lens is small. Any suggestions?

      yeah its just a tad bigger. Needed a 38 but couldnt find a step up ring for that. We just put gaft tape inside it until it was snug. Working on another video breakdown of nd filters with the moment lenses that will probably answer your question better. stay tuned

    This looks amazing! Did you use filmic pro? What video quality did you start off with and what did you use to slow it down? Please and thanks!

    What scenes or shots did you use the 7 plus on? I understand you could only use the moment lens on the 7 while using the osmo but noticed you said you used the plus as well

      We hope to put out another video with the 7 plus on the Beast Grip Pro rig. Pretty much most of the shots that are stable and not moving are filmed with the iPhone7+.

    Nice video! One question though, did you use any color grading or is this straight from the IPhone?

      definitely color graded this as it doesn't look the best straight from the iPhone.
