Utah: 1 Day in Zion National Park | Angels Landing Hike, Riding eBikes Through Zion
State #12 takes us west to Utah, which is easily one of our most epic trips yet! With 4.5 million visitors each year, Zion National Park consistently ranks as one of the top 5 National Parks in the country, and now that we’ve been, we totally understand why! As we drove into the Zion Canyon we felt like we had entered another world! It is by far one of the vastest and most scenic places we have ever visited. If you’ve never been and it’s not on your bucket list, go ahead and add it now!
We could’ve spent a week in Zion, but we only had one day to take it in, so we started the day by picking up e-bikes from Ride Zion eBike Rentals which was easily the best decision we made all day! Riding eBikes through Zion is the ultimate way to experience the park. You are immersed in the sites, the smells, the wildlife… there’s no better way in our opinion! After spending the morning riding up the canyon on the Pa’rus Trail (which we highly recommend) we made our way to the Grotto Trailhead to start our ascent up to Angels Landing. If you aren’t familiar with the Angels Landing hike, it is a 5 mile round trip hike up to the summit of Angels Landing. You climb a total of 1,500+ feet and the last half mile is a mentally and physically intense climb with nothing more than a chain handrail keeping you from slipping to your death. Needless to say, it isn’t for the faint of heart! It is one of the most dangerous hikes in the country and should be treated that way. All that to say… We survived! And after our victory over Angels Landing, we spent the rest of the afternoon/evening cruising Scenic Drive soaking up every ounce of how amazing this place is.
