Hiking and climbing, I will use the same phrase I use for driving, if someone wants to go faster than you, Let Them. Now I know, I don't need a Permit, to go as far as I need to go. Thank you sir, for taking me the rest of the way.
In my youth I used to run 140-150 in my Jaguar with my car club. Now at 81 I'm more concerned with going 60-65 which saves on my fuel bills(Jag is gone though). Plus I drive late at night so there's far less traffic around Ft. Worth then back to my home.
I spent many days exploring this park in the 70’s as a young man. My father owned land in Hay canyon, and we could hike south from there into the canyon In those days. there was often times when I would rarely see another person. There were few rules, no permits (at least I was ever aware of), and it seemed at times like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was magical. I’m older now, and cannot move like I used to, but that place still haunts my memories and dreams. It gets into your bones.
Great story sir, love hearing about great times from back in the day. Everything was so much better back then. I’m 57 now and like you I myself can’t get around like I used to. Love hearing stories though
I am afraid of heights and never will be able to hike to this place, but it is gorgeous! And I am very grateful for your video showing the whole trail. This way I could be with you during all your hike to the top!
Totally agree about the vicarious viewing! We made it as far as Scout’s Landing, but once the chains began and I could see the literally breathtaking drops on either side I knew I had had enough. Still, I have always wondered what was ahead and now I know. Thank you!
Thank you so much for allowing me to hike that frightening path with you. That means that I don't have to do it. Excuse the intimate detail. but watching this made my testicles ache. 🙃
This hike/climb is way too scary for me to attempt, so I very much enjoyed being taken along. I like the normal speed filming. I didn't mind waiting with you behind people, mainly because I knew none of them fell! The hikers didn't all look as though they were up to this challenge. I particularly noticed the trees that manage to hang on by their elegant roots. They seem to thrive. It can't be easy living up there, considering the radical climate variables they endure. They sure are beautiful.
I’m terrified of heights, but I was able to hike angels landing last week……….in the snow! I definitely don’t recommend it for novice hikers, whenever there’s snow or ice. Luckily, my gf and I purchased traction spikes or else it wouldn’t have been possible. The plus to doing it in February is that there’s barely any people. We didn’t feel rushed and was able to do it at our own pace. This was a great video and it helped ease my mind going into the hike. I came back to rewatch because it’s crazy the difference angels landing is when you can actually see where you’re stepping haha. Thanks for the video!

I could never make it up to Angels Landing now but through your video I got to see it like I was actually there. I can only go on very short hikes now and try to do as much as I can but I have to go very slow. My boyfriend and I have a camper and we travel all over the country to the National Parks. My son often flies to meet us on some of our far away trips. We so enjoyed camping at Zion in Watchman Campground 2 years ago and waking up in the morning to the awesome views. I am 70 years old now and still love to visit the National Parks and hike as much as I am able to. We will return to Zion again as we both just love the beauty of this park.
I’m from MN and I’ve been to Zion but never on this hike to Angels. Thank you for the video because I would never make it to the top. When I was younger this would have been a piece of cake but you’ll find as you age that heights won’t agree with you. Human stamina, agility, and balance all decline. I use to be furiously energetic - swimming, jogging, skating, hiking, climbing, - always on the go. At 75 I have slowed down considerably. That is why I thank you so much for your video. I too went to Zion in the '70s, and did not do this hike, since my son was only about 7 and my wife wasn't very enthusiastic about hiking. We did go to the narrows along the Virgin river, and I still enjoy looking at the photos I took there. But I do look back fondly at my adventures in the mountains, and I feel sorry for those who reach our age without those kind of memories.
I appreciate the longer trek in this video. I've seen others before, which show the highlights. Your video does a much better job at demonstrating the commitment it takes to get to the top. Thanks for the great work!
This video is fantastic. You don't say "um" too much. It was very interesting to listen to, while also amazing to watch. Very well-done. You also sound confident, but not arrogant. Appreciate your encouragement to be patient with slower hikers.
Thank you for showing this very beautiful hike in real time! Mkles me want to visit and do, but at 74 I choose putting on my 3D googles and do it virtually. This would be fantastic to watch in 3D 180! DEO is showing a lot of those 3D hikes.
I would love to watch this on the treadmill at my gym!! Another person grateful for the incredible great nature footage of something I would never do, LoL
Thanks man for this! I was there 1 week ago in late January and I was to late in the day plus bad shoes and also it was icy and also 3 teams of paramedic past me with stretchers!! At the trail head there we're ambulances and polices! Anyway it was my second time in Zion and it is SO beautiful that i would go each year
My husband did this hike a few years ago before you had to have a permit. I did a different trail and we met up at the lodge. He said it was the most incredible hike he has ever done. If we get a chance to do it again I know for sure I will go to Scouts lookout and no further. My husband said I could go to the top but now I see that is not for me. Thank you for sharing this.
Love this video! Great hike, had to change underwear twice just watching the hike. 😳Way outside of my I can do it level, but enjoyed it through people like you making the hike possible via video. New to your channel, now subscribing.😎
I’m 66 now, and have been to the top 5 times. My last hike to the top I knew would be my last on account of many injuries incurred while growing up. My body now broken, (56 bones broken while growing up, YES, 56!) I am paying for some incredibly stupid stuff. However, my point? Your video took me back and I appreciate you taking the time to post. Note: the last time I went up, I took my wonderful wife to be up with me. She did not tell me she was terrified of heights. But conquered the climb like a champ! Wonderful memories! Beautiful park! My fave of all time!
It was wonderful to be able to experience this hike through you as I do not have the physical ability to do this type of trek at this point in my life. I used to do some intense climbing when I was in my 20s and 30s but those days are long since passed. How absolutely gorgeous!
We just returned from a 3 week trip to 11-12 national parks. We ended up getting the Angel's Landing lottery the day before. It was a gorgeous day when we went, quite hot, but somewhat crowded. When we got to Scout's Lookout I looked at the people ascending with the chains and they were face-to-bum as far as I could see! I was very anxious and knew that I would be slow. So I decided not to do the final part. Watching this video made me feel queasy and I know I made the right decision for me! That said, how absolutely breathtaking! Thanks for creating this wonderful video!
This video is FANTASTIC! The 32 minute video better conveys the Angel's Landing Hiking experience better than any other. From Scout Lookout to the top of Angel's landing is the "real experience" section of this trail hike.....really more of a climb than a hike. This real time, full length video captures it ALL! Great video quality with nicely presented and informative narrative. Wonderful job. Thank you. I just might add that I found the hike down was more scary and difficult than the climb up.
I just found your channel, and as someone who has a chronic fear of heights - thank you for taking me to this magical place I know I will probably never get to see otherwise. I love the National Parks of America and hope to visit some in the future (probably starting with Sequoia as I love the forest environment). The sheer drops in Zion puts the fear in me, so I am happy to recognize my limits and enjoy the views from others who are braver than me! Looking forward to exploring more of your channel - thanks for doing these videos!
Fantastic explanation of this hike. I took my 2 girls out to Zion in 2004. We decided to make this hike but hesitated once we got to Scouts landing near the top. But eventually decided we came all the way from Wisconsin and would regret that we made it this far and wouldn't brave that final hike up to Angels Landing. Best decision we ever made. Absolutely stunning hike all the way. Thanks for sharing.
Did this hike 20 years ago and it was amazing. 10/10 for me. Loved the exposure and steepness. I would have done it in the winter or late fall and don't recall nearly the same amount of people on the trail. I don't think I would have the patience having to wait for all the slowpokes and less-confident people.
Excellent video. Loved it. Thank you as I am scared of heights and will never physically experience Angels Landing. Now I can say I virtually climbed it 😅
Great video! Thank you! I did this hike in the summer of 1993 - spectacular! It was a lot less crowded and no permits were needed. I'll be 71 in a couple of weeks and highly doubt I'd be able to ever do it again so it was great to re-experience it along with you.
This was amazing! I'm old and scared of heights so there's no way I could ever do that, but what a delight to share your journey with you! Thank you so very much! 🔥👍
Thanks for posting the full length in real time for those of us not planning to do it in real life. I'd love to see a part 2 showing the views during descent!
Thanks for the idea! I think I have the footage, I'll have to edit it at some point if I can find it. I did post a 360 video of the ascent on my channel if you're interested.
Great video - I did this in 2006 with my son. The only chains I remember were the approach to Scouts Landing and then 10-15 feet along the narrow section / bridge. Have to admit when we got to Scout's I thought we had made it and then I looked up and said "wait a minute". My son and I sat there for about 30 to 45 minutes and we went back and forth on whether to go across or not. He wasn't totally confident and this was his first big hike, so I asked him if I could go and left him there promising to return. You wondered what it was like before the chains going up - well it wasn't bad......going up, you just kept taking steps and looking for the next handhold. Coming down was a bit more of a challenge though and a video of the opposite direction would be nice because you get a real perspective of how steep and narrow that spine is when you are looking the opposite direction heading down! So, there is another reason for you to go back, to get that footage. I'll subscribe just to see whether you do 🙂
Hey, thank you for this. Zion is such a special place. My wife and I tried Angels Landing twice but I got "haired" and had to turn back both times. In fact, I wanted to turn around watching your hike. It took all my nerves to stay with you. Interestingly, we tried the West Rim after the second failed attempt. It really is an awesome hike and this time my wife was freaking out and we turned back. Finally hiked Angels Landing with you today.🤮
Thank You!...One of the BEST VIDS on "ANGELS LANDING" since this was not a Gp Pro or Fish Eye Lens. We all can really get a feel of how close you are yo either Drop. ( i lived in Hurricane, Utah for 5 yrs & drove my daughter to work 5 days a week...so I saw Lots of Zion) I'm glad the had finally made people get PERMITS for this one as well. Don't like to see/hear people falling . Thx again, George Amodei :)
No It was GREAT! Your right about people and you said you had done also SPEED up the VID so it won't be long but this allows others to really get a feel. :) @@WalkTheParks
We love Zion! We just hiked to the top of Angels Landing last July. It was AMAZING! We went at about 10 am and got to the top around noon and had the top almost all to ourselves. The permit really helped that day. We barely had to pass anyone on the chains. Great informative video!
We have lived in Utah for 9 years and have been to Zions but I knew there was no way I was going to hike to Angels Landing. Thank you so much for the excellent footage, so many content creators only do 5 minutes of the ascent. Absolutely gorgeous day and stunning views!
Best video of the climb. The section at 5:20-the chain stops and restarts about 20 ft up the slant-was where a young woman freaked and grabbed my nap sack. As you know, the trail is quite slanted at that point. I steadied myself on the slant as she was sliding down that slant towards the edge and holding on to my nap sack for dear life. All 150 lbs of me managed to stop the slide and she was helped back up and to the chain by 2 very confident hikers. She was in tears (understandably). I’ve always thought that little section should be chained without a break. Your video shows me that it’s still unchained. The only tricky part of the hike, in my view.
I just did this hike, and totally thought it was over at that point. My son and I climbed up there, ate lunch, and then went back down. Only after I got back did I realize there was more path ahead. I wish there had been a sign that there was more trail ahead. For whatever reason, I couldn't see the next set of chains, and thought it was over.
I have a client who won a lottery permit to do this hike this year. I'm certain you were polite but everyone you passed probably mumbled an unkind word in your direction! 😂 You make it look so easy!
Everyone has their own pace and level of acceptance for heights. I felt each pass was safe and careful. It's not a competition, but we should all go our own pace.
So funny to see the looks on people's faces. You can almost hear them thinking, " Goddamn, this fool is running up the mountain!!!" You seem to pass everyone so fast, like they were standing still.
I am somewhat acrophobic. I did le Tour du Mont Blanc (France, to Italy, to Switzerland) Trek in Sept 2012. Over 100 miles in 11 days, UP, and DOWN over mountain passes. I had trepidation over doing "The Ladders" up to Lac Blanc. But, after the First pair of ladders (MAJOR Exposure), I gutted it out. Eight months later, (same) buddy and I overnight-backpacked 'The Narrows' of Zion. In places, the water was up to our chests (we had Dry-bags, in our backpacks). It was Awesome. But instead of traditional hiking poles, we used thick wooden dowels to negotiate the stream bed. Because the Boulders and Cobbles, therein, were like Greased Bowling Balls ! At NO POINT did Angel's Landing come up in our conversation. XD
Semi-local here. Hiked this trail a lot before the permits (chains been there for as long as I remember.) The part where you waited the longest, near the bottom, is definitely the most challenging for the acrophobic. 😅 I’ve seen my fair share of folks just turn around at that point. Great job on showing this real-time. I keep watching these wondering when I’m going to take the time to go back. The last time I went to Scouts Lookout was about 8 years ago. I haven’t ascended it for at least 15 years now. This video really makes me want to go back sooner! Thanks again!
Wow! Thank you for the wonderful step-by-step tutorial on climbing Angel’s Landing. This is the only way I could ever make it to the summit because of my crippling acrophobia. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to more adventures! Take care and be well ❤️
I can't wait to do this next year (hopefully). By the end of this year, I will have 46 14ers completed in Colorado so very comfortable with exposure and loose terrain!❤
When you are experienced like that it is absolutely no problem. The rocks are a little worn out at some points but with good soles it is not real problem. The track is wide in real life than the video makes it look. And a more realistic time for an average hiker is about 3 hours + resting/pauses.
I just got back from Zion last week. The last time I went, I was 12, which was in 1982 (I'm 54 now) with my dad. Back then there was no complex at the south entrance (i.e. visitors center, Cable Mountain Lodge, restaurants, etc.) The trails had chains, but not nearly as many as what you're showing here. Tried to get a permit the day before from the seasonal lottery but unfortunately wasn't able to get one - the place was super crowded. Great video.
It has been a few years since I visited Zion. Maybe my favorite national park, stunning views, rock formations, and many awesome trails. New sub to your channel here. Thanks for the great tour! 😍👍
Thx so much for posting this. We just got back from a week in UT (visited all 5 Parks there). My son and I hiked this, but my fear of heights caused me to turn around after a small portion of the Angel's Landing part of hike (my son completed tho). This was an amazing video, allowing me to see the beauty I missed. Thx again for posting!
Very cool! I've been to the top about 15 years ago. I don't remember nearly as many chains, but I could be wrong. The real steep parts going up the side slopes they had them for sure and other riskier parts like the spot that's about 2 feet wide. I want to go back for sure.
Been watching hikes to Half Dome and will TRY TO endure your video, but even watching this on my iPad, having breakfast, makes the adrenaline lives rise to 200%. However, for anyone with steady feet and a passion for adventure, I guess this is AWSOME! Even with my height anxiety, I still can enjoy the views. PS. We walked the creak for a few yards though.
Amazing video … just subscribed… managing a gimbal with a phone at this hike seems like a Crazy idea !!! Wow !! But great job in representing the real feel of the terrain… with the GoPros and the Insta360 this looks much more unearthly that it actually is I guess !
Great video. Went today. I'm officially old. Made it to the 10:15 mark on the video before turning back. Completely insane that this is opened to the public. Kudos to all young enough and in good enough shape to complete it--so jealous. The hike to this point is significant if you're in your 50s. Was concerned re: possible fatigue, sweaty hands, cramping, stumbling. For me, the margin of error is small, and the stakes couldn't be higher. Hate the spots without chains.
I agree with your description of the trail and its beauty. You do not mention it, but do you ever pause to wonder how all that beauty of peak and canyon came to be? How did the land rise up to produce the peaks that stand thousands of feet above sea level? And what conspired to carve the canyons that fall precipitously away beneath your feet as you stand peering down in awe? We so often take the mountains and their terrane for granted, but each mountain or range of mountains has its own story to tell - if it be willing!
I watch a video of this climb about once per year. I’m taking a lengthy trip out West and plan to do this. I’m not a backpacker, a climber or a hiker but I do like interesting walks to some places and this looks challenging for me. I’m not afraid of heights either. I bought a heavy piece of webbing to knot 🪢 around my waist and a large, heavy duty spring loaded carabiner rated to hold several people. I will only have a lightweight water pack and very grippy shoes 🥾. I figure that’s the most I can do and should be ok in case I slip. Nice video. I dread the climb down 🙁. 👍☮️🌞🏜️🪨🥾
Thanks Blake so much for sharing this! I have been drawn to AL although I am a bit squimish about heights. I believe for me it would be best just to dream on and enjoy it through the lense of those like you who share. This is the best video I have seen on it to date. Thanks again!
I always look at hikes like this one as a bit of a head trip. Have a walk along a curb, and it’s cake; but put that curb 100 feet in the air and it becomes insurmountable. It’s about confidence in one’s abilities, and overcoming the notion that you’re going to make a mistake. I’ve never hiked this trail but have tackled other grade 3 and 4 hikes. I get the fear factor, but that place reminds me a lot of the Hillary step, lol. Too much reliance on ropes (chains in this case) and not enough on one’s own abilities to negotiate the trail. That guy pulling himself up by the chain, scares me more than the whole rest of the video, to be fair. Beautiful place, and an entertaining video. Thank you.
I agree: while the chains are nice and probably necessary for how many people do this hike, I certainly wouldn't rely 100% on them and literally use them to climb up the peak!
I first did this hike in 1977, last (with much creakier knees) in 2018. the hike itself and the chains are not too bad but watch out for some of the other climbers. Some should absolutely not attempt but do anyway, slowing everyone down. The worst obstacles are the relatively few completely tone deaf climbers who don't notice others and don't care about others. They are relatively few but a big problem since they won't let go of the chains so others can go by, It is a beautiful hike and worth the effort but try to go when crowds are relatively low.
Great job I would’ve liked it stop more often or when you did turn around and show us the view I was always hungering for the view before the summit. Thank you. It was beautiful.
Nicely done. I like how it ties the trail together for a complete view. Now, whether or not I do it this summer is a different question, but you've given a realistic view of what to expect. Thanks.
This was epic! I love landscape photography, so I hope to visit Zion one day. I have been experiencing issues with balance, though, so I likely would pass on this trail at the present time. 😅
That was really interesting. What a great hike, but not sure it's for me with the crowds and exposure. Maybe, maybe just some backpacking there. I made note of #13.
Hi from Yorkshire, England, you are responsible for adding yet another hike to my ever growing bucket list, thank you 🙂. In general people seemed fairly lightly equipped, I'm guessing the weather is not as unpredictable as here in the UK.
Thank you for filming this. I don't know if timing yourself to arrive when the sun was lower in the sky was part of it, but the views are absolutely stunning! I am absolutely terrified of heights. The few places where there were not any chains after Scouts Landing would still be too scary for me. I would also have to use a tether to clip into, which I saw someone towards the beginning using. I almost had a heart attack watching you walk up this so nonchalantly...LOL. I am glad that I could see how amazing the views are from Angles Landing. Just a bit sad to know that I will never see them for myself in person. That being said, I know myself well and this would be more fear and anxiety than I would be able to handle....Ha ha.

@@Dieseldog172 thanks so much!
Bet you could still do the narrows , especially the first part
Its called going on a non busy day. You speak as if the 70s were some fantasy as if zion hasnt been around for longer than humans

I'm not afraid of heights, per se. I am very afraid of slipping or misstepping and falling to my death! Scouts Landing for me.
Easily the best vid I've seen of this climb. Thanks !
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!
Without a doubt, this trail is the best day hike I've ever taken - and I've taken a lot over the years. Magnificient National Park.

Certainly a place to be careful, take your time, and outright avoid if you're afraid of heights.

Definitely an incredible hike! thanks for the story and compliments!
So beautiful!!!😍😁🥰
Truly a spectacular place!
That one lady at the bottom of the first hill should go back haha! Watching you zip past all those people was funny!
Definitely need to be careful when passing.
@@WalkTheParks I am sure you were being safe! It was an interesting contrast. I would literally never, ever do this!!
I hiked Angel’s Landing in 2011 with my best friend and two daughters…it was amazing!!!!
That's great! Really is an amazing hike and place!
Love this video! Great hike, had to change underwear twice just watching the hike. 😳Way outside of my I can do it level, but enjoyed it through people like you making the hike possible via video. New to your channel, now subscribing.😎
Haha, it’s certainly a challenging hike for many, and important to know your limits. Glad you enjoyed, thanks so much!
That was stunning. Thank you
You're welcome! Thanks so much!
Very good. I kept imagining how these mountains were formed. So violent. Beautiful..
.
Really is a special place!
@@pupstudio my wife is terrified of heights and just wouldn’t do it with me. I’m hitting 71 years and hope to do it one more time!
Love your vids. My hands were sweating watching this. 😅 Keep posting your excursions. Narrative is fine, too.
Thanks so much! Angels Landing is certainly a bit of a nerve racking hike.
Commentary was amazing
Appreciate the compliment!
It was wonderful to be able to experience this hike through you as I do not have the physical ability to do this type of trek at this point in my life. I used to do some intense climbing when I was in my 20s and 30s but those days are long since passed. How absolutely gorgeous!
Glad you enjoyed it! Such an incredible place and hike!
Thanks so much for the kind comments. I really was hoping to provide some realistic insights as to what this hike is really like.
Glad you were able to enjoy Angels Landing from the comfort of RUclips! Probably would avoid this hike with a high fear of heights! Thanks so much!
Beautiful
Really is!
Absolutely beautiful😄❤️
I agree, such a cool place!
we just did this trail in the middle of the afternoon - OMG bring a lot of water😅
Beautiful trail though👍🏼👍🏼
Congrats! Yeah, this hike and really the whole area can be disgustingly hot in summer.
Love it!! Never wanted to hike it. I enjoyed the narrows for hours. Not a fan of heights but I enjoy watching your video
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing.
this video is aweome! i appreciate that. it isn't sped up and that it wasn't using a distorting wide angle lens
Thanks so much!
Great video and I enjoyed your commentary! Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thank so much!
Now I can say I virtually climbed it 😅
Glad it was helpful!
thanks for taking me somewhere i could not go beautiful hike great video
You're welcomee. Thank you!
Great video! Thank you! I did this hike in the summer of 1993 - spectacular! It was a lot less crowded and no permits were needed. I'll be 71 in a couple of weeks and highly doubt I'd be able to ever do it again so it was great to re-experience it along with you.
Great video! T😮hank you. .. I have a Hiker Trailer 5'x9 '.I will come from PA.for the hike.😎🐢🌽🌲🌎🇺🇸
Nice! Trailer sounds great!
This was amazing! I'm old and scared of heights so there's no way I could ever do that, but what a delight to share your journey with you! Thank you so very much! 🔥👍
Thank you so much!!
Thanks for taking your viewers to this gorgeous places.
You’re fearless 😅
Thanks for the compliment!
Thank you for the detailed tour. I've been wanting to give this a try, and this really helps in knowing what to expect.
Thank you! This is exactly what I'm trying to provide!
I'll subscribe just to see whether you do 🙂
Thanks for sharing your story! Coming back down is crazy too! I think I do have some footage going down, I hope to get to it eventually and post it!
SUPERB upload. Big thanks from the UK.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank You!...One of the BEST VIDS on "ANGELS LANDING" since this was not a Gp Pro or Fish Eye Lens.
Thanks so much! I was hoping the video would be helpful: the chain section is LONG!
No It was GREAT! Your right about people and you said you had done also SPEED up the VID so it won't be long but this allows others to really get a feel. :) @@WalkTheParks
Great video, gave me genuine anxiety watching it. Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it! Sorry about the anxiety though...
I too, am grateful for your video cause this is the only way I would see it. Terrified of heights.
Thank you!
We love Zion! We just hiked to the top of Angels Landing last July. It was AMAZING! We went at about 10 am and got to the top around noon and had the top almost all to ourselves. The permit really helped that day. We barely had to pass anyone on the chains. Great informative video!
That’s amazing there were so few people! Congrats on the hike and thanks for the compliment!
We have lived in Utah for 9 years and have been to Zions but I knew there was no way I was going to hike to Angels Landing. Thank you so much for the excellent footage, so many content creators only do 5 minutes of the ascent. Absolutely gorgeous day and stunning views!
Thanks for making this! Would love to do this hike someday! Appreciated your commentary as you walked us through the hike.
Got a permit to do this hike in June, driving all the way out from West Virginia, one of my bucket list things!
Crazy story, glad you're both ok!
@@blessd24folks tend to rest at that spot. So it’s misleading.
@TomHawk640 I'm rather bummed. In my mind, we were done. So I wasn't up for restarting.
@@blessd24 Good excuse to go back someday!
Fantastic video. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Such a good video! I thought it would be a lot more difficult and scarier than that. Thank you!
Definitely varies based on experience level and fear of heights. Not for the faint at heart for sure!
So funny to see the looks on people's faces. You can almost hear them thinking, " Goddamn, this fool is running up the mountain!!!" You seem to pass everyone so fast, like they were standing still.
Haha, I suppose I can be a bit of a fool sometimes! I swear I wasn't running and only passed when it felt very safe.
Great video, glad you had so much commentary. Really enjoyed every minute. I’ll be there late April:)
I am afraid of heights . Watching u going up makes my legs be like jelly, my hearts in my mouth ,my eyes cringe ....thanks
You're welcome? Haha, definitely not a hike for the faint of heart.
XD
The Narrows is a great hike too! Both are incredibly popular hikes!
Thank you for your video, one of the best .
Thanks so much for the compliment, glad you enjoyed!
This was SO helpful. Thank you! I can tell you love it. I will be hiking it in 3 days, first time!
Beautiful hike. Good narration along the way.
Nice video. It brings back memories of my son and I hiking it in 2017 (no permit needed back then).
I miss the no permit days as well! Always a great hike.
awesome, i was in Zion last fall is was over-the-top stunning. Cool to see this hike as I didn't get to do it.
Take care and be well ❤️
Glad we made the summit together!
I’m going in a few days and have been nervous for it, but your pov and explanation have made me significantly more confident, so thank you sir
Thanks for posting the video.
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed!
Hope your'e able to get to Angel's Landing. Really a spectacular hike and so different than 14ers for sure.
Thanks so much! Zion really is an amazing place!
Thanks so much for watching!
Very cool! I've been to the top about 15 years ago. I don't remember nearly as many chains, but I could be wrong. The real steep parts going up the side slopes they had them for sure and other riskier parts like the spot that's about 2 feet wide. I want to go back for sure.
Not sure if there are more chains but there are a TON! You should go back if you can
Been watching hikes to Half Dome and will TRY TO endure your video, but even watching this on my iPad, having breakfast, makes the adrenaline lives rise to 200%.
However, for anyone with steady feet and a passion for adventure, I guess this is AWSOME!
Even with my height anxiety, I still can enjoy the views.
PS. We walked the creak for a few yards though.
Certainly a bit scary if you’re afraid of heights!
Amazing video … just subscribed… managing a gimbal with a phone at this hike seems like a Crazy idea !!! Wow !! But great job in representing the real feel of the terrain… with the GoPros and the Insta360 this looks much more unearthly that it actually is I guess !
Thanks so much! Haha, yeah the phone with gimbal didn't seem like the ordinary on this hike at all, and was a bit tough in the chain section for sure.
Definitely a challenging hike! Nice work making it as far as you did!
Thank you for posting this video. I got the permit for June and am scouting it out!
Great video! I subscribed to your channel, but I will NEVER go on that hike! Scared of heights!
Thanks for the sub!
WOW how spectacular!! The adrenaline whew! 😅
You certainly are close to the edge almost the whole time!
@@WalkTheParks not for the faint at heart ☺️
Looks like a beautiful site to behold don’t know if I’d ever get to go but sure would love to God Bless
Truly is a beautiful spot!
Definitely wonder about the creation of this wonderful location all the time! Good thought!
The climb down is certainly a challenge! Hope you get to do this hike, it’s amazing!
Certainly is an amazing hike! I agree that all hikers should try to be as aware of others as possible.
Great job I would’ve liked it stop more often or when you did turn around and show us the view I was always hungering for the view before the summit. Thank you. It was beautiful.
Great feedback, I'll try to do that for future videos
@@WalkTheParks Do whatever keeps you safe.
Nicely done. I like how it ties the trail together for a complete view. Now, whether or not I do it this summer is a different question, but you've given a realistic view of what to expect. Thanks.
Great video! I’m not ever going because I’m chicken of heights lol. But it was enjoyable watching your video.
Thanks for watching
This was epic! I love landscape photography, so I hope to visit Zion one day. I have been experiencing issues with balance, though, so I likely would pass on this trail at the present time. 😅
Thanks! Zion is an incredible place, definitely worth the visit. Have a great day!
That was really interesting. What a great hike, but not sure it's for me with the crowds and exposure. Maybe, maybe just some backpacking there. I made note of #13.
Great job on the video! It looks like it isn't as scary as i previously thought.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi from Yorkshire, England, you are responsible for adding yet another hike to my ever growing bucket list, thank you 🙂. In general people seemed fairly lightly equipped, I'm guessing the weather is not as unpredictable as here in the UK.
Thanks! Although there can be storms in Zion, they’re typically easy to predict and the area is frequently sunny without a cloud in the sky!
