Thanks for the great recommendations! The Canyon Overlook was such a treat! As with all hiking in Zion, go early to avoid crowds, and heat, also to find parking! Emerald Pools was also great, start from Stop 6 on the shuttle, the bridge is under repair from stop 5.
Heading here with my family next week. Glad I found this video. You touched on trails I hadn't heard of from other sites that will be great for having a younger kid. Thanks for putting this together
love the casual but detailed approach you use when documenting your travels. very chill. i watch a lot of times as i am going to bed to promote just plain good thoughts before bedtime. regards!
Your cinematography and craft is always top- notch. It's obvious that you put a lot of planning and care into your videos. One day I expect to see your name as the editor in chief of a prestigious travel journal , and I will tell my friends..." i used to watch his youtube videos when he was young still perfecting his art before he made it big! 😀
I wonder if conditions were different for your visit because it was my least favorite. Nonetheless this is such an awesome hike in Zion, thanks for watching!
You did not include the best hike in the park, The Subway from bottom down it is hands down the best hike in the park and debatable the best hike in America.
Thank you so much for this video! The Narrows are closed and I am planning my trip and I was super sad! But this makes me excited to see the other trails!!
Hi Kevin, love videos and trail details, thank you! Just to point out, there may be a little mistake in case you haven't already heard. I'm here at Zion now, trying to list trails to visit. Some pics you show on the Scout Overlook (at start of Angels Landing) are part of Pine Creek Canyon Overlook at the East side of Mt Carmel Tunnel. I wonder if these 2 trails show views of the same canyon from the north end and south end(?) Just trying to make sense of the trails here since not all are on the map the park gives you at the entrance. Let me know your thoughts 🙂
I haven’t done any backpacking in Zion. But getting a hotel or campsite in Springdale for a few nights is a great way to get immersed in the park. Some longer trails I have heard of include La Verkin, and I know there’s one like 50 mile trail from Kolob Canyon’s Lee Pass to the East Rim, it traverses the whole park but I don’t know about campsites or backpacking options. Anyways I hope this helps!
Any recommendations on what to wear and bring during the summer season specifically August. We'll be there the first week of August and both me and my dad aren't seasoned hikers by any means! Thanks.
You should embed the name of each hike in the bottom or top edge of the screen all the way through that hike. Along with the distance and elevation change. It would be very helpful.
Any hiking boots really! But we just wore cheap shoes that we didn’t care if they got wet, they acted as water shoes. I used like a $20 pair of knockoff white vans from Target and i think bri had water shoes but a lot of people do it in boots
Hard to say, I’ve never actually owned a pair of ‘water shoes.’ I typically use an old pair that I don’t wear anymore, or one time I bought a $20 pair of knockoff vans from Target and used them strictly for water hikes. I might not be the best person to ask about this one😅
So we haven’t gotten a permit, every time I’ve done it it was before the system. But a friend of mine just got permits last week pretty easy, so maybe as long as you don’t go in peak months you should be good! But the Zion canyon overlook is a great alternative if you can’t get it
@@KevinEassa Oh I thought you could do drone footage with special permissions. You had an interesting shot that looked elevated. Was the camera on a tall tripod?
How this park gets ranked higher than Yosemite in reviews is beyond me. I do not understand the hype around it. Angel’s landing is ok and the Narrows is ok but nothing there is dramatic impact like Yosemite, Grand Teton, the Seqoyias, Yellowstone, Glacier, etc..
Totally agree. We just went to Zion but nothing compares to Yosemite. Have been going to Yosemite for 30 yrs and still haven’t seen all of it. Zion is so small and way too crowded. Have done so many National parks and would not go back to Zion.
There was some potential for great info with this video. Unfortunately,I got tired of rewinding to get data because the narrator was speaking way too fast and mumbling a lot. I switched to a different video

I love how this is the most liked comment here

Thank you so much for this. this is so kind of you to say and it is so appreciated. I would love that as well haha. Only time will tell!
Fabulously beautiful scenes! Looks like you had a spectacular experience hiking this amazing park!
We had a great time hiking through the park! Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
Thanks! What an awesome place.
Thanks for watching Ray!
Doing a Rocky/Teton/Yellowstone/Bryce Canyon/Zion road trip. Can’t wait!
You'll have an awesome trip! I have travel guides for a few of those if you want to check out!
Wonderful!! Looking forward to future videos. Hoping to visit (from Australia) in April 2023
Thanks so much Tracey! I appreciate it, you'll have an awesome trip
Excellent Video, Amazing Scenery, and Amazing Photography! Thank You Kevin.
Thank you Doug!
I would say the middle emerald falls pool is the best honestly. You have to stray a bit from the hiking path but not much. It’s worth it it!
I wonder if conditions were different for your visit because it was my least favorite. Nonetheless this is such an awesome hike in Zion, thanks for watching!
Great job. I love this park so much!
Thanks so much!
One of the best videos on Zion , just subscribed to your channel
You did not include the best hike in the park, The Subway from bottom down it is hands down the best hike in the park and debatable the best hike in America.
Ooof I know, we had permits for it many years ago but something came up and we had to cancel. I really hope we get another chance to hike it
@@KevinEassadid it yesterday, no ones been doing it for the past 3 months so permits are easy to get, and worth it if you dont mind cold water
Thank you so much for this video! We are going in a couple of weeks and this helped me out so much!
I’m so glad it helped! Thanks for watching Kristy 🙌🏼

Kevin I LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel. Specially all these top 10 hikes. I make notes and do those hikes. Thanks for doing it!
Great video
Thank you!
LOVE Zion 😍 such helpful info
Thanks boo ❤️
Your dad must be proud of you… keep it up while opportunities still allows.
thank you very much, I appreciate that
I love Zion, I live near there, I’ll be honest though, Zion is incredibly overrated compared to Moab UT. If you have extra time, just do Moab.

Grate video, i am going next month
You’re going to have a great time, thanks for watching!
Are there any long trails like maybe 4-5 day hikes? Somewhere we can camp and really enjoy the park?
I haven’t done any backpacking in Zion. But getting a hotel or campsite in Springdale for a few nights is a great way to get immersed in the park. What shoes do you guys use for walking in the narrows? Coming from Florida in a week, thanks!

Hi Kevin, what kind of water shoes is the best for water hikng? Thanks

How hard is it to get to get a permit for Angel's Landing these days? I typed this right as I heard you mention a future video. LOL
So we haven’t gotten a permit, every time I’ve done it it was before the system. But a friend of mine just got permits last week pretty easy, so maybe as long as you don’t go in peak months you should be good! But the Zion canyon overlook is a great alternative if you can’t get it
What’s the name of the song in the beginning???
❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Were you flying a drone in Zion with a filming permit?
No drone footage in the national park in this video, it’s illegal to fly in US national parks sadly
@@KevinEassa Oh I thought you could do drone footage with special permissions. You had an interesting shot that looked elevated. Was the camera on a tall tripod?
Did you encounter any rattlesnakes there...any bear or cougar
They are there, but I have never seen any of them in Zion, and I’ve been probably 5-7 times

thank you so much Mitchell! I really appreciate it! Have a great day
im so jealous of the locals, wait i am a local nvm
