Deer Creek Reservoir is amazing, it’s near Sunset and it looks like the Alps! If you’re into kite surfing, kayaking, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, mountain biking and alpine vibes, you’re gonna love this area!

I really must apologize for people's small-mindedness, Kevin. Nature means to expand our minds, and our hearts. Thank you for reminding me that every road I drive East-West or north-south in Utah, I am always amazed by its geology.
Great footage! Although feel like you are missing some gems in northern utah like flaming gorge, red castle in the uintahs, bear lake, green river and yampa river near vernal.
I would STRONGLY recommend checking out Dinosaur National Monument, Red Fleet, Flaming Gorge Resovoir, 9 Mile Canyon, and the High Uintahs In northeastern Utah. Incredible locations with strong contrasts between high mountain and desert formations. Fantasy canyon there is intriguing as well. Duchesne and Uintah Counties are secret gems in Utah for sure.
I live in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania but have traveled to Utah at least 8 times. The drive from Bryce Canyon to Torrey Utah is amazing! A place not many know about is the Moki Dugway and Gooseneck State Park.
Don't vist Utah, Utah is filled with Republicans. By visiting Utah you put money in Republicans pockets who will donate it to Trump. Don't vist Utah, don't support Trump!
Great list. A few more to consider: The high Uintas, the largest place contiguously over 10K feet in the US, with hundreds of remote lakes buried in the trees, recommend bald mountain hike. Escalante national recreation area, recommend grand gulch or coyote gulch hike. Anything near Moab, recommend biking or jeeping slick rock. Skiing or exploring big/little cottonwood canyons near Salt Lake. Skyline drive road over the mountains of central Utah, recommend exploring the beautiful dirt roads winding through the Aspens in the Scofield Reservoir area. A few more gems: Calf Creek hike, Mt. Timpanogos hike, Provo Canyon, American Fork Canyon, Logan Canyon, Fish Lake, Little Sahara Sand Dunes. What else?
I can't wait to visit Utah! My boyfriend and I are going to be driving through on our cross country road trip coming up. Will have to use your video for inspiration on places to visit there
Great video. I've driven through Utah and have seen (from the highway) some of the state parks. But had no idea these places existed. Utah is an awesome state. Great drone footage too.
I thought this was great!! Born and raised in Utah! But I’ve never even been to any of these places unfortunately. I will definitely will be doing some exploring 😁
You're correct about Dead Horse Point State Park. While Canyonlands NP and Arches NP get all of the traffic, you're wise to take that left turn off Highway 313 before you get to Canyonlands. The views are spectacular and you're roughly 2,000 feet above the Colorado River. The last time we visited, there were maybe 10 people there with us. And, when you leave, take a right-hand turn onto the sandy road that leads east. If you have a high-clearance vehicle, you can travel thru Pucker Pass down into Long Canyon. It's about seven miles long and affords one a close-up view of the internals of a canyon complete with a 600 ft drop-off and switchbacks. It's also a nice shortcut back to Moab and takes you right along the Colorado River. Thanks for posting this video. While I already had Escalante National Monument (Burr Trail, Coyote Gulch, and the slot canyons) planned for this summer, I've now added Goblin Valley State Park. It looks fantastic.
Hurricane Utah sounds like Her-uh-kin and Zion is Zi-un... Oh and the salt flats are out past Tooele... sounds like Too-Willa, not that you mentioned it but you're welcome. 😁

A lot of the landscape in Central and Southern Utah comes from volcanic activity. The volcano in this video is the Veyo Volcano, just outside the little town of Veyo. When there, be sure to stop at Veyo Pies!
@@kjackson793 I stand corrected. Thank you for clarifying that. I drove past the Veyo Volcano every day for months, and I guess it got stuck in my head.
On the one hand, I’m glad people are appreciating Utah. On the other hand, I’m annoyed that all these spots are being given away. Too many people coming in and ruining old favorites. At least Kanarraville has a max amount of people they let in each day.
Yup it's getting this way everywhere. I moved to St George from CO to escape the craziness. I give St. George 15 years before it will suck. Just too many people I guess...
Yeah because CALIFORNIA is dieing so now they want to ruin Idaho, Utah & Texas! Go back to california! It snows & is cold here for 5 1\2 months out of the year! No we don't want gormet food & wine, crowds or traffic jams! Leave Utah alone!

I've visited all the national parks in Utah but this video is a real gem for expanding my explorations....thank you! Where are those gorgeous red, blue and purple formations at the beginning of your video? I must find them!

Around 1979, my wife and I drove to Goblin Valley. We were the only ones there, which gave it even more of a feeling of solitude. But as the sun went down, and the Goblin shadows got longer and longer, creeping and reaching towards us, we began to feel uneasy. It was freaking spooky. We got a little scared in the empty and darkening landscape, and left with goosebumbs on our entire body just as dusk was ending. No idea why we felt that way, we're not at all superstitious. It was just a very spooky feeling as night began to fall.
Your video is really helpful and awesome; the kind I am actually looking for since long time. I hate overcrowds and always looking for hidden gems and less crowded places, your video is key to that. I hope all these places don’t get overcrowded like Zion or arches and hope you can make more videos like that for each states. Thanks
Glad you said hurricane the right way. Sand hollow also has some awesome dunes to do some offroading with some great cliff views nearby you can drive to.
I'm currently planing a trip through the West (CA, NV, UT) and found your video. Awesome ... we just don't have time enough to see all this. Thanks for the inspiring video
Fun fact, I grew up here in southern Utah, quail creek(we call it lake) and sand hollow are literally less than 10 minutes from where I live. Both are man made reservoirs, both made to what they are now in the last 35 years. We used to go out to the dunes to party before sand hollow became a lake, broke my heart. You should have gone to red cliffs, gorgeous place.
Sorry friend, you’re mistaken. Lake bonneville was no where near goblin valley. The white cap is a different rock layer. I forget the names of the layers up there, but the white cap is a pretty hard layer and the red underneath is softer. That’s why you get the crazy formations.
Thanks so much! So they’re ever changing. This footage is complied of 4-5 years of trips to Utah. Some places are now illegal and some places you need a permit, all BLM land you should be good but I would just individually research spots/ regions prior
The white rock is the deposition of the Mt. Carmel formation. The red rock is an earlier deposition called the Navajo formation. Both deposited back as Lake Bonneville covered most of Utah and the Southwest
Kevin. Thanks for the tips. I'll be coming over into south central Utah from Great Basin National Park to Goblin Valley. Have you ever visited Valley of the Gods? It's 166 miles south of Goblin Valley. Just as majestic as Monument Valley (only 30-40 miles south), on BLM land and rarely visited. Will research Badlands as I do a lot of photography as well as with drones. Thanks, Semper Fly Dave.
I have not been to valley of the gods but I do think I drove past it a few years ago, next time I’m in the area I’m definitely going! Thanks for watching and the recommendation
Very neat video. Thanks. I love Utah. You can see so much with minimal crowding of people in places like these. There is some neat railroad watching and very few train watchers. Thanks
Kevin, great video. We are definitely adding some of these places to our plans for 2021. One question, the location in the intro, during seconds 5-13, which location is that?
Thanka man. I always love the Utah scenery on my occasional drives from Colorado to California. Nationals parks not being allowed for me to operate my drone legally, I Appreciate the NON national Park aspect of these locations. 👍🏼
@@KevinEassa Escalante region is awesome. I highly recommend a hike on the boulder mail trail into Lower Death Hollow! You'll never forget this canyon, I promise. Or go exploring the Spooky and Peek-a-Boo slot canyons ...
Thank you for such a great and amazing video. You do amazing work. I never realized that Utah had so many beautiful places. I think most of these places are cooler than the National Parks especially since you can fly a drone there.
Why doesn't anyone ever talk about northern Utah when talking about amazing camping in Utah? I honestly prefer it to Southern Utah. Beautiful forests, amazing hikes, wildlife, and solitude.
Agreed! I lived in Logan for about 2 years and there is a toon of nice places from Roy, Ogden and up north, the Logan Canyon and Bear Lake. Just amazing!
Awesome video . I'm 59 tomorrow 13/02 . I'm old and worn out massively. Live in the Uk . I follow Matts off-road recovery based in Hurricane Utah . Been thinking for awhile . Mmmm lets go on vacation to Utah . In the 80s I did an overland trip for as a truck drivers mate 3 1/2 months to Saudi Arabia then up through kewait and Iraq spending a long weekend in Baghdad. It was an incredibly beautiful place back then . Then a year later I did a 6 week road trip in British Columbia with my best mate . They are major highlights in my life big time oh yes . Especially as now it's so difficult to travel through Syria Jordan etc . Been on trips through Europe too . But they just don't conpare at all . Enjoyable 100% Just craving the great outdoors and been thinking for a few months now . Utah seems to be the place to visit . I'm not a city person just love the great outdoors/ wilderness .
Hey Kevin! Awesome video, I loved it and will now make sure I definitely remember to pack my drone lol. Question, you mentioned in your comments that you rented atv's to explore the badlands where did you rent them or can you recommend any places? My goal is to see the mars like blueish formations, thank you!
Beautiful shots Kevin ! Between shoots, don't forget to eat at the Thunderbird Cafe in Mt. Carmel Jct. Home of the Ho-Made Pies ! The best Route 66 cafe genre left !
Snow Canyon, Sand Hollow, Dead Horse Point, Coral Pink Sand Dunes and Goblin Valley are all Utah state parks (entrance fees). Monument Valley is part of the Navajo Nation park system. I wanted to point this out since it was noted that places are not national parks.
Thanks for great video! I'm planning a 3 week solo road trip to Utah this fall...Have been reading articles & watching videos for months! Have all but 1of your suggestions on my Go To list! Not sure I will make them all...want to enjoy the journey as well as photograph incredible scenery!
Utah has a lot of hidden gems. I love living here, we plan all our vacations in state. I love your pics and descriptions, but it's very obvious you are not a Utah native by the way you pronounced "Kanarraville", "Hurricane" and "Zion".

We just changed our vacation plans because of this great video! Dead Horse instead of North rim GC. Thanks. Love the art photography as well
Goblin Valley's white top mountains mark the water level of ancient Lake Bonneville.
Sorry friend, you’re mistaken. Lake bonneville was no where near goblin valley. The white cap is a different rock layer. I forget the names of the layers up there, but the white cap is a pretty hard layer and the red underneath is softer. That’s why you get the crazy formations.
Its volcanic ash.
amazing video thanks for sharing! is it safe to safe the drone laws are relaxed in Utah been trying to base trips off of that lately
Great video. I'm planning a 10-day family trip thru Utah and this is exactly what I was looking for.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Thanks, Semper Fly
Dave.
Nice! thanks for watching! It is in the badlands region! those patterns are everywhere!
Sick video. We just hiked Sundance Peak to Stuart Falls. Coming from Florida this place is epic.
that's awesome, I haven't done that hike but I'll have to check it out
Thanka man. I always love the Utah scenery on my occasional drives from Colorado to California.
Nationals parks not being allowed for me to operate my drone legally, I Appreciate the NON national Park aspect of these locations. 👍🏼
Is there certain parks that don't let you have a drop or is it all of them? Thanks!
Wow thanks for showing us this beautiful places Love it🥰
Thanks for watching!
Calf Creek Falls is a must see! It's on the Eastern end of Grand Staircase-Escalante
I will add it to my list next time I am there! I haven't really spent much time in Escalante but I need to, it looks incredible
It is a very enjoyable hike, one of my favorites in the state. But it is part of the NPS so it wouldn't belong in this video anyway.
@@KevinEassa Escalante region is awesome. I highly recommend a hike on the boulder mail trail into Lower Death Hollow! You'll never forget this canyon, I promise. Or go exploring the Spooky and Peek-a-Boo slot canyons ...
Fantastic video!!! Thank you for sharing this!
Thanks Joe!
Took notes and will be making pans for 2021, thanks for sharing!
Thanks. Always looking for less crowded places.
Of course, thanks for watching!
Buckskin Gulch... possibly my favorite hike here
Nice! I haven’t done it but would really like yo
To*
What an amazing video! I want to go to Utah now! I had no idea if it’s beauty! Thanks so much man!
Of course! Thank you Julian! I have tons of Utah videos on here, it’s one of my favorite places out there
I live in Utah and you are giving away all of my secret spots. Lol Great video yes come to Utah lots to see and the people are friendly.
haha oh I am sorry, just want to share your beautiful state!
Yo Im planning to move into Utah should I or should I not?
@@bybyesoccer9300 If you like the outdoors you should move here. 12,000 foot mountains on the north end of the state and red rocks on the south.
@@reallyboardstiff bett
@@bybyesoccer9300 just know that if you’re coming from like the west coast it’s gonna be a big adjustment and be patient, it’ll grow on you (:
Thank you for such a great and amazing video. You do amazing work. I never realized that Utah had so many beautiful places. I think most of these places are cooler than the National Parks especially since you can fly a drone there.
Why doesn't anyone ever talk about northern Utah when talking about amazing camping in Utah? I honestly prefer it to Southern Utah. Beautiful forests, amazing hikes, wildlife, and solitude.
I agree I grew up going Camping in Northern UT great times with the fam and great natural Nature
I grew up in Northern Utah. Absolutely beautiful
Enjoyable 100%
Just craving the great outdoors and been thinking for a few months now .
Thanks so much! You can rent them at Motorsport Rentals in Hanksville!
Adding these to my bucket list... I need a bigger bucket, I think!
Sorry, but it’s Kun-air-u-ville. So fun to see so many great places!
Thanks for sharing, great video and awesome recommendations. I will definitely add a few of these to my list of destinations to visit.
Fantastic video! I lived in Sedona, Arizona for 4 years , and I explored amazing places in Utah also!
Nice! Thanks for watching!
I live in the Uintah’s this is such a good video of Utah, our state is beautiful. ❤
Best TOP 10 video on youtube! Good job!
That means the world! Thanks so much!
Great footage and tips - especially like the fact that you make this video about THE PLACE and not about you! Keep it up!
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
You didn't even show the "Goblin" part of Goblin Valley! That's the best part!
I know sadly I couldn’t find my footage on that part :(
Thanks for great video! I'm planning a 3 week solo road trip to Utah this fall...Have been reading articles & watching videos for months! Have all but 1of your suggestions on my Go To list! Not sure I will make them all...want to enjoy the journey as well as photograph incredible scenery!
Amazing! So excited for you to get out there and explore, such an amazing place
Thanks for posting this! I live in Utah and didn’t know about a few of these.
Of course I am glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
Great aerial footage here. Wow!
Thank you so much!!
Totally missed all the red rock and sand dunes at Sand Hollow.
Yeah, Sand hollow is known more for their off-roading than the lake.
Great Video! Some sneaky great stuff around Escalante where we just spent a week. My favorite state by far!
Utah has a lot of hidden gems. I love living here, we plan all our vacations in state. I love your pics and descriptions, but it's very obvious you are not a Utah native by the way you pronounced "Kanarraville", "Hurricane" and "Zion".
yeah definitely not a native, but man do I love Utah and I will continuously be coming back!
Every part of Utah has a different style of speech or brogue. Central Utah has one of the deepest accents I've ever heard I've lived all over Utah and I love every bit of it
Love this series on utah! The stripes are layers of sediment from lake Bonneville; for eons it lay down layers,INCLUDING THE COMET LAYER! It's a thin black line-watch out for it !
Here's a utah-nics lesson, u kin tawk like a local
Hurri-kin like twerking, zion like lion (ziON is a place in the matrix)
lol, every time he said hurra-cane I corrected him out loud & I don’t even pronounce it in Utahanese😜
My understanding of the line of two different colors on the rocks is because of an ancient lake that used to be there.
that's so freaking cool, such an epic place
It's marine, left over from the old Jurassic interior seaway. The top is the Curtis formation divided by the J3 unconformity and the Entrada sandstone on the bottom. Nothing was left by a lakebed.
Thanks for info will be visiting Utah this June
Thanks for watching Linda!
What is the location at 0:07 in the video? Gorgeous!!
the badlands near Goblin valley state park I believe.
Another place you should check out sometime is Toquerville falls. Located close to Hurricane. It's a little place and most likely need a 4x4 to get to. But it's fun. Another one is Meadow got springs.
