Ouch :o
Is that a reference from the book Wonder?
No clue, just saw a meme online. Seemed to fit.
Oh, well I do recommend the book Wonder.
+Debra Williams OH MY GOSH I'VE BEN READING THAT BOOK FOR ALONG TIME NOW!
I felt like I was running out of breath just listening to the pugs trying to breath.
SAME XD
OMG HAHAHAHA SAME
You should try listening to joey diaz on a joe rogan podcast..
You.......are so fat
You're an idiot who doesn't know anything about these dog's
"Have food, will obey." lmao soooooooo true
"they do shed" is an understatement.
very true
when I got a fawn pug there went my goth phase
I have to put towels on my couch because of how much my pug sheds
Jonathon Mullins-Kimbler still goth, i got a black one
Yes and fawn pugs shed a lot more bc they have double layers compared to black pugs !
we had a pug for over a dozen years. i never had a dog that was so in tuned with our emotions. you had a bad day, he knew. you wanted to play, he'll launch into play. but the compacted spine did lead to walking and bladder issues in his late years. he is still missed.
May god bless his soul.
Lost him two months back..... Tough to believe and will be missed till end.... He is magic.... They take away all negative....
My pug is a very warm-hearted, friendly dog. When she meets a person, it will take about 5 minutes to get used to them. She has never bit anyone in her entire life, but we can't teach her any tricks other than "sit". I give this dog a 10/10.
I can't believe we as humans bred an animal so that its *wrinkles* would make a symbol.
They're so adorable but I wish they as a breed didn't have to suffer so much with breathing :(
actually, the traditional pugs in China didn’t have face that flat, they bred them to look like what it is today, super flat face
Talyn has time. Yeah I feel bad for the little fellas, but they can still live a happy life if a owner takes good care of them
I Mean Bull dogs Are bred With Huge heads so they Can't Really Mount to Mate and The heads Are so Big That Even if females Struggle to give Birth
Not only breathing. They have myriads of health problems.
This comment took my breath away
*A PSA*: COLLARS ARE NOT GOOD FOR PUGS. HARNESSES ARE BETTER. KEEP YOUR PUG SAFE. GOOD DAY.

Thanks mate 👍👍👍
*PSA* : Don't get a pug.
How about training your dog to NOT pull on it’s leash, then you don’t have a problem. PSA: Dogs don’t have to pull 🙄
@@queenofmemes2859 I was going to say something similar, but you beat me to it lol
person: sometime the eyes can pop out and have to be put in right away

bahahahaha!!!!!
+Jiorama i'm getting rid of my cats for pugs.
+Daniel Woods my picture isn't working
Pikachuchu how
wait. is that why Maya has only one eye?
My whole thought on pugs changed when i heard their eyes can POP out
Same with me
Tevin Keobouala I Want a pug ND I got to make sure the coller is not too tight
Kubwa Nanzuri ok enything else I need to know
Kubwa Nanzuri so that's why every pug has that, i though it was something "traditional" on pugs :p good to know :0
alan lam Yeah, I have a pug, and every so often, I freak out, worrying her eyes could pop out.
my neighbors have a pug...
he was chasing his tail and rubbing his butt and head against the ground lol
AyIt'sRainingMeowies They're stupidly cute!
haha omg that is adorable
Yea cus the face is ugly and they cant breathe

I’ve had two pugs over my life span, since I was a toddler. They both lived to be 12 years old. Never had any eyes pop out lol. Last pic had diabetes. But we later found out, grandma was feeding her peppermints 🤦🏽♀️. But she did fine with her insulin shots.
I learned unconditional love from my little pug. My "Mopps" died yesterday on New Years Day. My heart is broken.
I'm so sorry :( I had a cat and he passed x I know how it feels. Stay strong
oh im so sorry!!!May "Mopps"'s legacy live on
How old was she?
I'm so sorry to hear that! I just recently found out just how loving a pug could be 3 days ago. Mopps will always have a piece of your heart, but there is another little cartoon faced fart machine waiting to love you out there!
Jerico Biermann oh dear im so sorry to hear that my condolances
My grandma's pug is spoiled rotten! When I snuggle him and give him kisses, he'll walk away and rub his face all over the floor to get the love off! XD
+Jordan Dillon mine pushes me back whenever I go for a kiss, like a pre-teen too embarrassed by their parents xD In public there's no way she'll let me kiss her...
Her pug does the same thing. I used to have a Min Pin that would put her paw on my mouth if I tried to kiss her. XD
Jordan Dillon that pug seems awesome
He is. He's a big ol fat thing. 😂
hlo
it isnt the pugs looks that makes me love em and think they are cute. it is their personalities. :3
supersmashbro596.that is true
supersmashbro596 I have a pug mix half pug half yorkie
War Master so a puggie?
Merthan Gencer yeah it pugshire or yup.porkie
holy shit it looks like an half-evolved werewolf
"Sometimes their eyes can pop out." She says that like it's perfectly normal!
It's horrific how irresponsible Animal Planet is being. They could be discouraging people from buying and breeding these animals, but instead they act like pugs' health issues are inevitable.

I was about to do more research on owning a Pug UNTIL THE EYE POPPING PART OMG THATS SCARY
Don't worry :)
Just take care...
My sister has her pug already for 6 years and it never happened
Same here
Walk a pug in a harness so they are not yanking on a collar
It is only when you have a collar that is tight use a harness I have a pug for years now her eyes hasnt popped out
Remember, these dogs 101 videos aren't a 💯accurate
They're small, they don't take too much grooming, they're easy to train, they can be outgoing or introverted, they're adorable and don't like the heat. This dog is so perfect for me, i can't wait to get one in a few years.
I’ve had pugs most of my life. They are the most lovable and playful dog I’ve had the pleasure of sharing my life with. But then again, I’m just partial.
I wanna hug every last pug I saw on this video.
I remember the first time I ever saw a pug. I was seven years old and had a family gathering at my aunt's house, and there she was. Probably spent a good hour laughing at her so hard it hurt. A great dog!
I find it really sad that so many people bred pugs and other various dogs or cats just for their looks without even thinking of the health problems that could come with it.
90% of domesticated dogs have problems, its not always cosmetic.
I guess you missed the part of the video stating that pugs are very healthy dogs with no real health problems?
***** Not exactly, pugs have problems with their breathing but its manageable. Whereas other dogs suffer from heart disease, hip dysplasia, and back problems. Those problems will kill your dog and is the end of a lot of bigger dogs, pugs don't have much in their way from living long lives.
LaB Gaming
You mean like the part where its EYES can pop out of his head. That's not a problem?
xmagicxx01 It doesn't effect how long they live or their quality of life though. Its a weird thought but loosing an eye is not nearly as bad as joint problems or heart problems.
Pugs are so adorable! I love their personalities, so sweet and loving. If I ever have a dog, I'd have a pug. I'm actually afraid of dogs, but I don't think I'd be afraid of a pug because they're so sweet. I love the fact that the pug will just hang out with me.

If I had a pug, I would name him Charlie and stick a Mario hat on him 😂
Their eyes ... can pop out ... sometimes the way humans played with dog's breeding is just ridiculous : /
well nowadays we actually know what we're doing with genetics when we breed animals I imagine future dog breeds wont be plagued by issues like that. but even with there flaws pugs are still the reigning champs of dog awesomeness :)
The eye popping out sounds really gross and I'm not sure how to spot it, however, they...look...so....CUTE!!!!!!! XD
undeadking243 it's not really about being grossed out, it's the fact that we've played with dogs genetic so much that we have entire species that have a body that can't even support itself ... human's best friend they say...
better than just seeing a dog and thinking ooh I want that dog to mate with that dog so what if its had trouble breathing all its life its still a good dog imagine the kids itl have I realize some breeders still do this but its not all throwing things against the wall to see what sticks like it used to be.
THANK YOU for seeing through the veil of supposed "cuteness" we have somehow indoctrinated into our culture, as is even more evident to me than ever before watching this video. at least the people giving the commentary were not credentialed in any form where i would expect one to know better than to fully condone this type of dog's sheer existence. this is not meant to be inflammatory to the bazillion people who will watch this because (duh) they love pugs. if anything, just consider the cost in quality of life your best friend will have to pay because you wanted an animal that had a particular "cute" physical trait. really. just think about what that means. i also give credit to AP for at least mentioning a good amount of the major health issues that come with owning a pug, however they left me with an...uncomfortable(?) feeling with the light-hearted, comical (quick cut shot to the pug's face looking surprised!), responses given after each health concern was mentioned. & in the summary of the pug as a whole, i was left with the impression that somehow genetically allowing the contortion of a dog's spine to form an ideal "two FULL curls", or that "some breathing problems" because the dog HAS NO MUZZLE WHATSOEVER were alright (assuming one doesn't "squeeze too hard while petting"). i am sorry to anyone who disagrees. i am sorry for the dogs.
"easy to train"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
(my pug wouldn't listen to anyone)
I had a pug/Jack Russell mix. Where ever I went she went. Where ever I sat or laid down she was there. I lost here because she had a stroke. She really helped me out when I came home from Iraq. She knew how to work those puppy d0g eyes. She was about 15 years old. Really good dog
I just got a pug a month ago in June. His breathing is fine and it has been so hot here in Pittsburgh this summer. I don't keep him outside very long. He does start to pant very hard only after a few minutes. Just be wise and know what to do! They are great companion dogs too. He gets right up in my lap and sits there so proudly. I love him so much. A great dog for the family!
"You're the most beautiful dog, they call you Jabba the Hutt. Jabba the Hutt. For a Reason".
That reminds me of the movie, The Adventures of Milo and Otis. Otis is indeed a pug.
They are living breathing suffocation
Roastie Toaster not true, if a pug comes from an fci dog kennel it’s most likely to be healthy. my pug only has a bit of breathing problems when it’s really hot. beside this he’s a really happy and cheerful. and in spite of what is the common opinion, that pugs are extremely lazy and sleep all day, they love walks and physical activity. the point is the owners tend to overfeed them and then they get fat, their joints get destroyed and they have no energy to play.
*barely breathing
@@zsw3514 you're delusional. Healthy dogs shouldn't have any breathing problems at any natural temperature.
@@zsw3514 fucking idiot.
That eye thing happened to pewdiepie's dog
It did????
No it didn't
Yeah it did because when Maya the tan pug was a puppy a cat clawed at her eye.
I'm replying zak about the video, the eye bulging thing never happened to her.
oh i thought he meant the cat clawed her eye. oh he was talking about the Bulging eye thing. oh no that didn't happen it was a cat.
With a lot of the pugs problems you can solve them just by having them crossbreed, A great example is that I have a dog that is half pug half beagle and he looks like a pug except his face is no longer flat so he's able to breathe better.
A Puggle!
Yeah.
Puggles.
I have seen a puggle
You can solve many issue with purebred dogs by allowing them to be natural; crossbreed and be "mongrels". Nature knows no such thing as 'breed'.
***** Really?
I didn't know I was going to become "That person in the comments section"
But it makes sense.
I comment on pretty much every single video I watch
Bad News: "It can't breathe..."
Good News: "The reason that they can't breathe makes them sooo cute!!"
People are sick.
PenguinsGalore55d1 There’s surgery to open the nostrils and it also depends on things like weight
Avnirvana Bonovika Why should we perform surgery on something that is born naturally this way without hearing its opinions?
Human are definitely sick
I really don't think people find pugs having trouble to breathe is cute. I have a pug, and yes it has breathing issues, which I don't find cute. The reason I find pugs cute is because of their caring and loving nature, which is the same reason me and many others get a pug.
@@darrenhatfield4578 why would people do that?
To make their lives more comfortable perhaps? I don't know, just something out of the plain fucking obvious
Grooby_ They shouldn’t be bred in the first place.
We always had pugs, until one day I came home from my job with a half pug half chihuahua. Never seen a cuter dog in my life, even a decade later still acts and looks like a puppy.
My Auntie has a half pug and chihuahua too!! Her body is a pug but her face is a chihuahua! She's 14yrs old now but yet still such a happy dog! 😍
It's cruel the breeding of pugs. Deliberately giving them a squashed nose, and thus the breathing problems, is horrible.
It's cruel raising these over sensitive losers...
Agree. I wanted to have one but Im REALLY bothered by this.
Bho Check Not all pugs have breeding problems - ask the breeder. Mine is fine in hot and cold weather, just don't leave them outside or let them drink ice cold water etc.
+Laurence Herring You know that they don't squish the dog's snout, right? The breeding of this dogs is made by choosing the ones with the most squashed noses and breeding them...

I just did a Google Image search for dog proptosis. Well, there's another little bit of my soul gone forever.
So riddle me this, if a dog is bred to have certain traits that actually make it suffer then isn't it unethical to continue breeding them?
Cult Of Malgus I don’t know Riddler
What if your family had loads of medical problems, would you rather just watch everyone you know die out because it's unethical
@@anishaflynn7729 the problem is that these dogs were inbred which causes them problem. Just because you want to keep your 'bloodline pure' it does not mean you should marry your 1st cousin ight.
@@anishaflynn7729 maybe MAYBE instead of inbreeding we should out breed to lower their chances of getting the genetic mutation

I miss my pug so much I would do anything to have him back, please does anyone in the comments know anyone that helps with grief
I just put my sweet girl down and it does hurt so badly.
I've been referring back to the deceased pets section of MojosHope.org.
Just reading their FAQ section helped a lot. But there are also grief counselors for pet loss, which I'm strongly thinking of getting.
I hope your heart is healing. My heart is on the way but it does hurt so very much. I hope you take peace in knowing how loved your precious baby was by you. There is hope at the end of the tunnel.

Pugs aren't ugly, they're pugly. That's a good thing
I was born with a dog, I grew up with dogs and will do the same with my future wife and children ...
My parents have always created larger breeds like Dobermans, Pitbulls, Irish Setter, and Rotweillers ...
How we suffered a bankruptcy and moved from farm to town in our apartment, the best acquisition was the Bandit, a unique and spectacular Pug...
As a dog says he wins all the others we've had, he is smart, loving, and companion!!!
Dogs are the unique and real friend of man!!!
Breathing problems: *exist*
Pugs: is for me?
I’ve owned my pug for three years, I got him when he was six weeks old. He’s such a family dog, always lays in my lap and wants kisses. He eats steak for dinner everyday in his dog food. He likes walks, he hasn’t had any problems with breathing or his eyes. He has ear infections sometimes, which are easily dealt with. He’s super active and loves to run.
Getting my pug was the greatest decision in my life
Pugs are like an xbox ... they need to cool down or they l get the red ring of death .... and when the eyes pop out it means you moved the xbox while the dvd was running ... and it shreds the disc.
That pug on a surfboard was so cute

i have one and when people look at her they she is ugly BUT SHE IS NOT there so cute and there such a nice type of dog too get
If you are set on getting a pug, consider getting a retro pug (healthier version, but still has their cute personality), or adopt a pug, after all, they are not going anywhere. You can still enjoy the breed without supporting its breeding yourself!
Growing up I had the sweetest black pug, he was this cute little barrel that would snort around the house. When he would get tired on walks he would just sit down, and we'd carry him home.
My pug died last year rest in peace fousley :( I Miss him
PUGS ARE NOT UGLY!
Pugs are one of the most loving dogs ever, great with kids. They just love their people and do not get very attached with just one person, they learn to love the whole family. Happy pug mom for 12 years! And if you walk them on a harness, feed them right and take them to their regulat vet checkups, they are one of the healthiest breeds. Only downside is the shedding but they dont cause any allergies so we are good!

fact pugs cant bite very well cause of there small face
Looked up this video with my 7 year old who mentioned she may want a pug. We were both horrified they were intentionally bred to not be able to breath, have their eyeballs pop out and be susceptible to heat stroke and a slew of other health issues so they would look "cute" for humans. Horrifying. smh
I have two male pugs both from rescues. One of them, Baby, (he was called Baby Huey but we just abbreviated it) has a mushed in face like the ones you see here and the other, Sammy, has more of a snout. If you go to a rescue like I did you can find one with more of a snout or maybe even a mix. If you want a puppy or can't find a pug rescue, then be VERY careful which breeder you pick. Of coarse, that goes with any dog, but especially with pugs. Make sure the breeder is certified and experienced, has the breeding dogs in good condition, clean breeding area, and the puppies are up to date on shots and anything medical. That makes the health problems minimum. The wrinkles aren't much to handle. As long as you clean them every couple of days, don't go on any extreme walks and bring a collapsible bowl with water when you go for a longer walk (or in the summer. Never go on any huge walks during the summer and make sure to bring plenty of water) they shouldn't get heat stroke. As for the eye thing, don't worry about it at all. Make sure to get a harness instead of a collar and don't pull the wrinkles too much will cleaning. Dogs aren't plushies, so don't squeeze them like they are one. If you catch you or someone else doing so, stop them immediately. This doesn't mean you can't hug them, but I read an article saying dogs are uncomfortable in hugs. If toy want to hug that adorable little face, make sure it's not too tight or long. A pug should win the heart of any 7 year old. They are the greatest companions in the world. I hope this somewhat helped and made things a bit less horrifying for you and your daughter :)
You could get a “puggle”, which is a pug that’s bred with a beagle. They have the same coloring as pugs, but have snouts as opposed to the mushed faces that a typical pug would have.
Your an ass
GOD DAMN IT EDGAR TOOK OVER THE UNITED STATES
Watching this a few times a day makes me miss my pug less since I moved out.
My little brother for months begged for a pug and so my mom got him a little black pug with a little white spot on his chest and he was so tiny when we first brought him home but now he's gotten bigger and he's around 6 months he is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever seen in my life he is so kind and playful and affectionate and very hyper too
I have a chug (chihuahua and pug mixed) she's 16 and still full of energy 😂
Me too as well, my baby doesn't have the mushed in snouts like full bred pugs & are a little shorter, also doesn't have deep wrinkles but you can definitely see the pug in him.
8 months later and it's still true, actually, her 17th birthday is in a few weeks :)
Another chug owner here. but we call her a pughuahua.
Gluttony aw that's so cute, pughuahua 😂😂
just in case anyone was wondering, she has since passed, but she's still with me in my heart.
There are a lot of silly comments on here, and as a Pug breeder for going on 40 years, I feel like I need to address them,
Pugs, like all dogs, can have health issues. The whole Eye-popping thing though is not entirely true. they do not just "Pop" out for no good reason, and would take considerable force or a unique birth defect/genetic trait to do so. Most breeders would work overly large eyes out of their blood line fast, if not never have the problem to begin with. The most dangerous thing for a pug's eyes is actually it's fifth claw or Du-claw. if it is not removed shortly after birth, it will remain and can cause severe eye damage later in life via accidental scratches.
Breathing issues again actually fall into birth defect zone. A properly bred line will NOT suffer from issues that would EVER require surgery. They of course do not handle high heat well, but should never be exposed to it for long periods anyway. They are hose pets, not outside dogs.
As for another user that posted about Hygiene and yeast infections, it's the food and treats you are feeding. Over the past 40 years, we have learned a lot about pugs and how touchy their diets are. Too much sugar and fatty foods/low quality kibble can easily cause them to get yeast infections very frequently as crystals will form rapidly.
Pugs are wonderful family pets, and truly do not take any extra care or attention to maintain. The wrinkles are easily cleaned with a wash rag when you give the a bath. No real extra work required. If you want to keep them dry, Baking soda is the best bet. A bit of baking soda on a dry rag, and rub it in the wrinkle. it will help keep it dry and germ free, and wont hurt the dog. (Re-enact Scarface if you must =p )
I hope a few comments from people with less experience owning pugs, does not affect the odds of you making your own personal experiences with the little charmers. =)
It's wonderful to hear there are good breeders like you improving the health of this fine breed.
Pugs are stupid and so are you for perpetuating the breed.
0:21 say hi! :3
We have 6 dogs. All large except for our little black Pug. Her name is Tinkerbell (our daughter named her) and she is a riot! Makes the funniest noises and never stops making us smile. She is not the brightest bulb in the pack, but she is friendly and so lovable. Such a fun little dog.

Makes me miss my sweet, spoiled Corky and Norton. Gone but never forgotten.
I LOVE PUGS
I WANT ONE
My pug is the happiest and healthiest dog I’ve ever owned. She doesn’t seem to have the breathing issues a lot of pugs suffer with , occasionally you can hear her breathing but most of the time she breathes comfortably and barely even snores . She’s also really energetic and athletic , it’s such a shame that so many owners allow their pugs to get overweight because mine is so happy and fit and has the best temperament
They are so cute and funny pug puppy like me (duggu). 🦁❣️❣️❣️
"Have food, will obey" If that aint me-
The eye popping thing can be prevented by using a harness and never a flat collar. It could still happen, but that would majorly decrease your chances.

Sorry if this intrudes but: Why did you have to put down your black pug at 3 years old?
He literally just randomly one day couldn't walk, he'd just lay there and wouldn't eat or go outside. We took him to the vet several times, ran every rest they had, were all normal. So, my parents made the hard decision to put him down.

I see a lot of comments saying like "why not get a healthy dog" and stuff like that, I mean they are great dogs. Their health may not be the best but still they are loyal little dogs. I also saw some comments saying "Their breathing is so annoying why get that dog" And all that stuff. THEY ARE JUST BREATHING. like really people it may be loud and they may drool a lot, But its just breathing and drooling. We all do that too! I love pugs healthy or not.
