I am currently a parent to my 3rd pug, and I now I can't imagine owning another breed. They are such animated, sweet, happy dogs. Thanks for the video.
If I could ask as a new pug owner, did your pug suffer from a lot of the ailments and problems that I hear pugs suffer from so much? Have you had to go to the vet a lot with them because of illness? Everywhere I look on the internet talks about all of the problems that these pugs get and i just want to know how likely they are.
@@iampie0 Yes and no. My first pug died a year ago and was 13 1/2. He was healthy till his golden years and then started to fall apart with age. My second pug had a extremely short snout (flatter than normal) and while adorable, led to her early death at 6 years old. My current pug is 6 and is super healthy. Respiratory issues in pugs are pretty common and they shouldn’t be left outside in extreme temperatures. They also tend to get seasonal skin allergies, that causes them to scratch. We get my boy an all natural topical ointment that seems to do the trick. Not a lot of medical bills in my experience. Most breeds have something unique about them, health or behavior wise. Pugs are a bit like babies, they love their people and want to be with you ALL the time. If you want a pet that adores you, pugs are perfect!
2:31 good NO you can't use regular dog collars on pugs, they need a chest harness, otherwise his breathing, circulation and even eyes can get serious injuries

I love my Puggle so much!! She's easily the most entertaining and important part of my life. We call her our little garbage disposal 😅 Also, she's 16 years old, and still acts like she did when she was a teenager! #PUGS FOREVER!!!!
Watch out for mast cell tumours on pugs. They are prone to them. My little guy just had one removed on his little scrotum of all places. These cancerous growths can be quite aggressive so if you see a new bump, take them to the vet asap. If they catch it early before it spreads to the organs, they can be saved and continue to live out their little lives normally.
They're almost human. Great entertainers and funny. Very loving and want to be centre of attention. We have 2 they are adorable and very curious and need to be near you constantly. So loveable and snuggly. Big Characters.
My male Pug developed PDE Pug Dog Encephalitis at about age two... He was the sole survivor of a litter of 5!!! It was summer and they were in an A/C room... The breeder was out to Dinner and the projected birth was a couple weeks away... She wouldn't lay with her litter and the others passed due to exposure!!! She just wanted to be in front of the A/C... The Breeder had a Yorkie just beginning to wean her pups... She raised our little boy, his mother passed a couple weeks after his birth... I suspect she had PDE!!! He had several seizures but still lived a couple months short of 12 years... When he started to seize I cradled him between my legs and arms, patted him gently, and continually spoke reassuring him until it passed... I did notice times where he didn't want to drink!!! With a simple syringe, I gave him bits of water until he drank from his bowl... It didn't work every time but it did prevent several seizures... So along with keeping them cool, I found keeping him hydrated extremely important!!! He did have a good life despite the PDE, because I was vigilant as to his needs... He walked a mile or two every day on the Beach... During the hot days, he'd go in the water when he got hot and I always kept a bottle of fresh water with me as well as a bowl and extra water in the truck... They can't talk, so it's important to watch for signs of distress!!! HUGS FOR PUGS!!!

I have a question, as I am a football (soccer) fan I usually play football with my aunt pug, like when ever he comes to take the ball I flick it above him and stuff, it's very fun and he enjoys it, but it is good for him?

Are you able to provent their eyes from falling out? Everyone has to sneeze including animals.. Is it rare for their eyes to fall out? Please if you have any more information let me know.
I have a love hate relationship with this breed. I had a pug and unfortunately my dad relinquished her for no reason she was 11 yrs old loved her. I wish people would educate themselves before getting a pug and stop associating their deformities and birth defects as cuteness. It is not cute that the dog snores and or makes noises. I will say there are ways to work around some of the issues. I would never walk the dog during daylight hours and or under the sun. They don’t have good regularity as far as being able to cool down in an efficient manner. Also people love to feed things things a lot. I’d recommend a lean diet mixed with meat and veggies. I’ll probably wind up getting another pug eventually since I really can’t keep my eyes off of them.
This video forgot about a planned thing to breed this dogs back to its healthy version from a hundred years ago. Which also is planned for the bulldog.
That's because it's not happening right now, at least on a grander scale. The limitited genetic diversity of pugs means within breeding is useless, so out-cross breeds are the only option, which is not an acceptable method by FCI standards. Meaning: A healthy pug no longer classifies as a pug.
