I wondered if Simon was looking after his nephew or something. You know the one on weed who refuses to get a job of any kind because he has mental health issues.
I knew Simon was Welsh but didn't realise he was fluent in the language. Multiple thumbs up for rattling off the place name. Ben was hilarious ("I don't need to speak [Welsh], you speak enough"!). Really love how Simon engages with anyone and everyone with respect and humour.
@@ottoreitstock2465 doesnt matter if it sounds rough what matters he's trying, Many Welsh people dont care if you stutter or your Welsh isnt sharp its the thought that matters
Always genuinely warms my heart when I see any sort of promotion of the Welsh language - particularly to an audience as big as yours. Da iawn bachgen!!
Absolutely, you don't have to be Welsh to appreciate that, I'm English and love to see the language being used, in fact it's a disappointment when you see the hairdresser from Bangor yet know no Welsh, I'm not sure how that's possible in that area.
Probably my favourite video you’ve done, Simon! Would love to see more of you exploring Wales. Interviewing people in Welsh gets a perspective English speakers usually miss
Truly fascinating hearing so much Welsh, my grandad on mums side was born in wales and my great-grandad on my dads side was too, my great-grandmother used to shout “cau'r drws” which means shut the door but I’ve lived in England my whole life, my parents were born in England too, brilliant to see the Welsh keeping their language alive
LOL this Ben is absolutely hilarious. Feels like Simon brutally forced him into Vlog and it looks hilarious. Looking forward to see Ben more often in adventures!
Can we all give Ben a massive congratulations for being so naturally funny with his sarcasm😂🤙 really enjoyed the change in dynamic made for a brilliant watch💙
I really enjoyed you speaking Welsh my late mum was from Wales she married an Irish man so sadly the Welsh side was forgotten, but when i hear the language spoken for some reason it makes me tear up so it must be buried somewhere in my heart. Love all your videos!
Can you show us more of Wales? Any haunted places or castles? It's really nice to hear you speak your native language. The people there are so friendly!
Didn’t realise Simon spoke Welsh! Genuinely a beautiful language and kinda gives me Game of Thrones / LOTR vibes - also the pub landlord giving Simon a cuppa is a proper legend
Yeah, i was definitely not expecting Simon to speak Welsh out of the blue, I know he was Welsh but it just came out of the blue! Great video Simon, cheers for the great content

Much easier nowadays to pick it up with online resources like Duolingo, SSIW, Welsh RUclips channels, S4C on bbc iplayer etc., online Welsh teachers/exchanges
Nice to see you in Wales again mate! There's actually village in New Zealand with a longer name. Its Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu. It's on North Island, a bit south of the city of hastings! Hope to see Wales one day.
Known locally as Tamatea's Hill. and it's quite a bit south of Hastings, it's the other side of Pōrangahau. Ironically there is just a sign there and no hill of any significance. Or a nose flute.
I really wish Welsh was more spoken in Wales, its such an interesting and historic language. So many of our smaller languages in the UK are either gone or at serious risk of dying out due to the dominance of English. Was good to see that those young lads at the start could speak and understand Welsh though.
Man, I studied in Wales (Vale of Glamorgan, Llantwit Major) back in the day. This one hit close to home Simon, tons of nostalgia. What a beautiful place with beautiful people.
@ 8:55 "Is this the only pub in the village?" Simon just channeled his inner Daffyd Thomas 🤭 p.s. great video mate, glad to hear Welsh being spoken, keeping the Real Bretain alive.
As an English woman I have a new found respect for Wales! Even though I’ve been to Cardiff a few times I genuinely didn’t realise the Welsh language was so widely spoken & amazing that you speak it! Love that Welsh people really value their heritage & culture. ❤️🏴
Thanks Simon, your video reminds me of the time I spent in Wales. I can still hear my grandmother speaking Welsh. I always enjoy watching you in action.
Ben's attitude is unintentional comedy.
quite intentional
100% intentional you mean lol the accent aswell cracks me up

One of your best. Love you communicating in Welsh. As an English man I didnt realise actually how widely spread Welsh was spoken! Its awsome!
