Iraq is also known for it's prosperity during the golden era of islam, architecture and mosques. The food and hospitality is also great.

It's the hospitable culture. Same for Syria and other countries in the Middle East. He could have been from the US and they would probably have treated him as a valued guest. This is a reminder to us in the West as well. When people from the Middle East pay a visit, wish them welcome.

There were some mistakes when he asked about prices, the exchange rate dictates everything and no one actually memorize the accurate exchange rate so they give random numbers in dollars. Life's pretty expensive here in Baghdad if u are paid with IQD, if you're not then its kinda normal.

In 40s 50s 60s 70s 80s 90s .. there was women in every street in Baghdad.. in 50s 60s 70s there was so many families go to cinemas even in 11 o'clock in night.but after 2003 everything has changed.

I love how there's so many artisans making and selling their goods directly. This alone is a worthy reason to visit.
