  • If you'd like to donate to support Ukraine, I've linked some trusted sources below.
In September 2024, I spent a week traveling across Ukraine with my wife Deanna. We started in Lviv, then went onwards to Kyiv, and finally to the frontlines in Kharkiv. For the past 6 months, my team and I have worked tirelessly to create this hour-long documentary about the human impact of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Our goal was to document life on the ground, meet with local people, and let their voices be heard.
Huge thank you to Markiyan for taking me around Ukraine. This trip could not have happened without his guidance and hospitality. Follow Markiyan on IG here: / markiianivan
If you'd like to donate to help Ukraine and those in need, here are a few trusted sources:
u24.gov.ua/about: Launched by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, this has been the main venue for collecting charitable donations in support of Ukraine. The funds go towards Defence, Humanitarian Demining and/or Medical Aid.
savelife.in.ua... Launched in 2014, Come Back Alive became the most prominent organization providing support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The fund’s mission is limited to supplying technology, training, and accouterments to help save the lives of Ukrainians.
saved.foundation: This foundation aims to restore access to education in Ukrainian communities that suffered from the war. They provide children with the necessary tools and resources to study and explore new ideas.

Not a day goes by where I don’t think about my amazing trip to Ukraine and all of the incredible people I met. Their strength, resilience, and kindness left a lasting impression on me. This video shares a glimpse of their stories and the realities of life in Ukraine during this war. I encourage you to watch with an open heart and, if you can, find ways to support this beautiful country. I’ve linked a few trusted sources in the description above 🇺🇦💛💙

Never forget to condemn Ruzzia. It was who brought this horror and death to Ukraine. I know many people from the Global South who justify Ruzzia only because they hate the USA, but when I tell them that there can be several bad men in the room at the same time, wow, it changes their perception. In this war, Ruzzia is an invader, an occupier, an absolute barbarian, while the USA is its guarantor. Yes, the USA is the guarantor of the Ruzzian invasion, destruction, military terrorism and partial occupation of Ukraine. The USA and other signatories of the Budapest Memorandum on the Nuclear Disarmament of Ukraine allowed Ruzzia to do all this, instead of ensuring Ukraine's security. This is the real truth.

This video deserves more views. To be honest, I never liked Drew in the past. I thought he was just a native young kid going to every country just to say he did. But if this video is the new Drew Binsky, then I'm a Drew Binsky Fan, dinner and drinks are on me if we're ever in the same city. I also really appreciated the emotional side of Deanna, her reactions added the needed human element to this what I would consider a documentary.
Thank you for showing the complicated life in Ukraine during war. If you were to ask me what I'd want the world to know, I'd say: It's not possible to understand what living during wartimes is like, and I sincerely hope no one needs to find out first hand. Life in Ukraine is complicated, but what's not is the fact that Russia invaded, and could have called it off any day they wanted to. Supporting Ukraine is supporting freedom from tyranny and is stopping future wars.

I'm from Kharkiv and had to move out to protect my then 10 month-old child. My parents and in-laws are still there. They don't want to leave their homes. Every morning starts with a chat where all of our family has to write "good morning" so that everyone knows that we all are ok. In your video I saw the streets where I used to drive to work, the cafe we used to go to with my colleagues, that big shopping mall where we used to buy staff for our house, my husband's office that was also demolished. It made me cry so hard. And I'm thankful to you for this, because I was holding this im myself for a long time and now I'm crying and it feels better. Thank you so much. Thank you for telling our story. I hope soon this terrible war finishes and you come to make a video about wonderful peaceful Ukraine. And I will be able to welcome you and your wonderful wife and show you beautiful Ukrainian villages, bike fests and fantastic natural places.

@@colelankey I absolutely understand your outrage (as any decent human would be outraged at this situation), but your comment of "Start to fight stop sitting on RUclips," is in no way helpful. Many of us all over the world would love to be there on the front lines to help fight in every physical way we can. Unfortunately that is not obtainable for most of us. Most of us don't have the money or capability to be able to make such a move. But we still try to do what we can do such as making donations to real causes that help Ukrainian troops, people like Drew who go and make documentaries on the situation to further get the message out the the world's population about the horrific things going on, and so forth. I don't know what your nationality is, but if you're not from Ukraine, what have YOU done to help? Sometimes, all people have is the care in their hearts and their words to help spread the message of what Ukrainians are currently facing. And even though that may seem insignificant in your eyes, it's better than doing nothing or criticizing other people who ARE doing what they can, regardless of how big or small. You sound very immature and maybe need to get a grasp on the real world and appreciate every effort everyone makes, whether that being a simple "are you okay," donating to Ukraine, or, God willing if they are fortunate enough, joining the front lines.

May I also remind you of the fact that our Native American population in our motherland, the Continent of America before the European Colonizers arrived, was around 15 millions, while the European population in their motherland, the Continent of Europe was around 25 millions.
Today, Native American population is 15 million, while the European population, in the Continents of America + Europe, is a staggering TWO BILLION! A shockingly sad truth. 😔
In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return to rightful owners Native American people.
Notorious global cardinal crimes the Christian West has committed, and benefited a great deal, such as centuries-long global Slavery & Colonialism had long been over, why on earth is notorious Colonization still lingering on, may I ask? 🤷

Similar to my girlfriend too. My girlfriend is from Kharkiv and fled in April 2022 to Russia. She’s of mixed Ukrainian Russian heritage and had family in Russia who housed them temporarily. She said that upon arrival, she had to register herself and they tried to confiscate her Ukrainian passport and tried to force Russian citizenship upon her. She also got some harassment from Russian people who were constantly giving her abuse, she got her car vandalised for having Ukrainian plates, got physically assaulted by an older man and got called a nazi which required her to have stitches on her lips. After that her family (4 of them) decided to leave Russia for good. They converted all their money to dollars and drove from Voronezh to Latvia where they stayed for 6 weeks in emergency accommodation. She eventually got asylum status accepted in the UK and all 4 of them live and work in Northern Ireland now. She used to be a secret dual citizen of Ukraine and Russia but now she hates Russia/russians with a passion.

She was kidnapped by the nazis while in school at the age of 12 and her teachers were all executed in front of all of the school children and she never saw her family again either. “True face hidden of the war “ ? The wars have always two sides , so without visiting Russia and tell the story from another side - the story wouldn’t be complete.

    • @Oxilaiz
      @Oxilaiz День назад

@@dianakhatypova4096 hello Diana, when I was talking about the “true face hidden of the war”, first of all it was about the Ukrainian’s side and then about the French medias who don’t show the real face. The French medias are racist, fascist, discriminating, extreme right, they say bullshits… You can’t understand this cause you are not French.
And about the Russian’s side it is also complicated nowadays to be informed with the facts for the both sides.
I’m trying to be informed with independents and neutrals sources (like Ukraine: Ukrainska Pravda media and the Moscow Times for the Russia).
And to terminate my answer, I’d like to visit Russia someday, maybe live there, there are so many countries I’d like to live so sorry I can’t go anywhere currently….

@ I live in France currently , in the city of Toulouse. So i abandoned watching your tv here especially BFM which is fulfilled by propaganda in general and always taking the side of Ukraine , well actually I’m not surprised as Europe in general was always against Russia but its already another story… donc voilà . You can visit Russia easily nowadays it’s safe, as well as other countries

I am Czech and I visited Ukraine alone in winter last year. I stayed only in the western part, but it was amazing and heartbraking. It was week full of connection, joy, sadness, fun, beauty and more. I really enjoyed your journey, as it really reminded the one I did. We are really feeling the same about Ukraine. And my goal is to comeback there this summer, and maybe reach even Kiyv. Such a great country, slava Ukraine.

❤Incredible report. Thank you for taking so much risk, I was a librarian in England when the Ukrainian war started , and we had students from Ukraine arriving in our college, one of them said to me : " I don't fear anything anymore" That child had crossed on foot part of Ukraine to arrive safely in the UK and seen things they should never had seen. This report really brought home what they described back then. Carry on reporting. Kind regards Nathalie

This would be a great time for you to to revisit Lebanon, under similar circumstances. Living in this war here in Lebanon, my heart goes out to all Ukrainians, especially those seen in this video because I know exactly what they're going through and hearing them describe experiences so eerily similar to mine on the other side of the planet is what angers me about this world. Let's pray for all wars and suffering to end. Love and Peace to all, from Lebanon ❤🤍💚

Drew, first off, you are amazing my brother. I am an American who still supports Ukraine. It’s sad to see people’s fatigue of the war, especially people who aren’t directly involved in the conflict. But your friends are right. A country that is hungry for power does not stop after a successful campaign, they continue to devour. Thank you for such an insightful video, which I hope millions get to see and share. I pray that this conflict finds a resolution soon that’s beneficial to not just Ukraine, but democracy.
