- There are many debates about the one reason Diversity Equity and Inclusion training doesn’t work or the one right way to teach it-but there’s no “one size fits all” training. The world of diversity training should reflect our own diversity, as each of us are complex works in progress. Jenn Lindsay is a social scientist, documentary filmmaker, and musician whose works explore the challenges and opportunities of social diversity. Before she earned her Ph.D., she worked for over a decade in the film and music world of New York City, releasing 7 award-winning documentary films and ten studio albums. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
DEI is just a bad idea. Your vague notion of people not doing it right just muddies the water.
DEI is a bad idea why?
@@becauseImKblack Because Diversity, equity, and inclusion are weasel words for starters. Diversity is only diversity of various peoples that have the same woke religion. Equity means having quotas, for minority groups, which means discrimination, and finally inclusion is accomplished by excluding those that are of the wrong race /skin color, and/ or political and religious beliefs.
There are fundamental flaws to the underpinnings of DEI programs, but that is a small taste.
DEI is cultist.
I was raised among the same social influences (same media, etc.) and never came out of it thinking Arabs were by and large bad people...

DEI is a joke
If DEI is so effective, why are so many companies trying to distance themselves from it?
Well done Jenn
Amazing!
Such warm words, she really is the Queen of hearts. Alice - I'm trying to find my way home. Queen of Hearts - Your way? All ways here are my ways! Alice - Yes, I know. But I was just thinking... Queen of Hearts - Curtsy while you're thinking. It saves time. Amazing how Lewis Carroll had such a handle on the current obsession for diversity training from 150 years ago.
Thank you, Jenn! Your idea will certainly help us all to better understand each other and ourselves!
Love this!
Everybody pitch in and do the right thing. Companies are finally becoming aware that profit making is greedy. Companies must hire based on race. Twenty percent should be based on skills and aptitude. The Wild West in corporations is over.
Just HOW do you think corporations will stay in business without profit??? Are you implying that the govt should own corporations? If so, big govt is not the solution. It is the problem. And you would want to be on a commercial plane with pilots were hired on DEI??? You would be fine with just 20% of pilots being hired on skill and knowledge?? Intelligent people would want pilots who have both of those qualifications. Good grief!!!
