Great video to teach us. The hardest part for me to be able to paint fur with good consistency was learning the density of paint and water on the brush. It's very easy to make mistakes when we don't have enough practice. The brush is left with little water and dry, causing shaky hairs, or with a lot of water and little paint, creating drops or broad strokes without pigment. It took work to find the middle ground and now I can know what density of hair I will make just by looking at the brush. That is great.
Awesome effect Andy, real cool looking fur. Such a lovely model. Really like the subtle colour shift across the fur with the pinkish tones and the coolnblue on the shadow side.
Your new miniatures line is incredible. The hunter and Wolf is the best in my oppinion, so if i purchased one, that would be it. I hope to do so when i get and airbrush some day. Cool technique also!
Great video. Did you guys just thin the paint with water? I’ve been using water and find that paint isn’t flowing off very well. I thought you could have been using flow improver?
Had no idea such a developed and defined sense of fur could be just plain painted on, much less that it could be smoothly and completely integrated with the painting of sculpted texture. Inspirational, now I need to find some high end werewolf sculpts...
Breathtaking! BTW, if you love colours like Citadel's Stormvermin Fur, check out Formula P3's browns, reds and greys. Their explicit greens not so much, but I've yet to come by more interesting, vibrant and complex greyish-greenish-brownish hues from any other company.
What gloves do you use? I don't get on very well with painting handles, so I'm looking at getting some gloves for when I handle my models while painting.
Hi. I am going trough your recipe and trying it out on a white wolf. The ratio of Sandalwood and Graphite confuses me though. In the video you say Sandalwood with a bit of Graphite, or just pure Graphite. Now wouldnt it be Graphite with a bit of Sandalwood instead? The Sandalwood with a bit of Graphite does not look like the grey you have in the video, so I suspect there is a something wrong in that mix. * Otherwise, amazing video, thank you :)
Hi Andy, great work! I have recently discovered your Instagram account (which is awesome!) and found stunning pre heresy Thousand Sons color scheme. Is there any chance you could say how did you paint the red?

This looks so good! It looks more like a digital artwork it's so good

I think thats why I hate it.
From the thumbnail I thought this was a digital art tutorial. Amazing work as always!
Thank you!
I clicked the thumbnail but I wasn't sure if it was a figure or a painting. Awesome result.

Glad you like them!
Amazing textures makes all the difference.
Really helps bring it to life right
Yes it's more realistic than a dry brush
Thatrs an aweosme grey that "petrolum" one. Added to the basket!
Nice job, thanks for sharing.
Incredible work. Can't wait to receive Heargeard once the KS campaign is done!
Thanks! We can’t wait for people to get him either!

That is some magical work.

Hi Franky, thanks for watching
Great video! I have an owl bear miniature waiting to be completed and this effect will be perfect!
give us a tag when you do. Love an owlbear!
@@cultofpaint I certainly will do! Hopefully I'll do one of your workshops when it's safe to do them again 😅
Stunning, love it
Thank you! 😊
Brilliant channel guys
Thanks very much!
Could you do this on Skaven? To make them have fur on their faces like in some of the artwork rather than making them naked rats?
Breathtaking! BTW, if you love colours like Citadel's Stormvermin Fur, check out Formula P3's browns, reds and greys. Their explicit greens not so much, but I've yet to come by more interesting, vibrant and complex greyish-greenish-brownish hues from any other company.

This was so useful. Working on some wolves at the moment and will definitely apply the learning 🤓🤓
I hope you can do a horse tutorial in a similar fashion. Stunning work.
Sure thing, we're both planning some fantasy projects at the moment, so perhaps we can use one of those.
This is wild!!!
How would you do black fur, or mixed colours of fur (eg. Mexican red wolf)?
Wonderful!
Going to try this. Love it b

Absolutely amazing ❤
Im going to try this tomorrow in some rats! Another great video from you guys
Make sure to tag us in some pics, it's always fun seeing people try the tutorials.
How would you do black fur?
Wow, amazing
Thanks a lot
I loved ,your art
Well I tried this. It looks nothing like this. But.. it doesn't look BAD either so I'll take the win and keep practicing haha
waht kind of round stone is the base and the Tree part? Its perfekt, and the fur as well ;)
The model comes with a resin base topper, branch and some rocks. The rest are greenstuff.
Can this technique be used for hair also?
Certainly, although you'd need a fairly large scale model to really take advantage of it.
such a beautiful wolf, very cool. can anyone point me to decent alternatives to GW fenrisian wolves btw ^^?

Hi Filip, the scheme will go up at some point on here.
@@cultofpaint Can’t wait!
0 dislikes amazing!
12:26 did you lick your brush, if yrs thats disgusting
Just gives the mini more flavour
@@dippythehippy I would have subscribed if you hadnt done it and many feel the same way, so your either stop it or edit it better
Wiping excess off. Is that ok?
