The previous two Guardians of the Galaxy space ships are among my favorite Lego building experiences… naturally I already pre-ordered the Milano! Can’t wait!
The mini dancing Groot set is amazing
I'm a big fan of the new trend of taking a cool build from a massively expensive set, and releasing it as an induvidual cheaper set. It took LEGO so long to make a Leviathan and it would have been a real shame to lock it away in a set 99% of people simply can't afford.
people calling it anticonsumer are delusional. the set is an arm's builder, that doubles as a way for the less well off fans to get a lot pf cool figures. the people complaining are just tories
Yes, Tiago's view on this is a bit odd, honestly. It's the view of someone who collects every set (or has them all sent to him) - but that is not 99.9% of people.

Lego does realise the competition prints EVERYTHING and never uses stickers, and is half the price...right? Right? RIGHT???
22 stickers on a small set is taking the urine, particularly when they are so huge, premium product my arse.
Hell, I'd pay more if they were printed. Even if you're a magical being that can perfectly align every sticker, they'll inevitably look bad with age.
It doesnt matter. Ive seen people defending stickers because ‚if you dont like them,you can leave them off‘🤓 These shills will probably not even complain when they give you stickers for figs instead of prints…
I haven't seen does tyle of legos but i think if you look at the quala5y of th3 peces you will see the diference.
Kre-O did use stickers regularly. McFarlane Toys also used stickers on some (not all) of their themes of their brick-based construction toyline. K'Nex and Meccano sometimes use stickers. Playmobil uses stickers all the time. Airfix (their 'QuickBuild' toyline) commonly uses stickers. Shopkins Kinstructions used LOTS of stickers. C3 Toys used stickers as well. CaDA also commonly uses stickers and even ones that you have to apply over multiple assembled parts; YUCK!!!!
The list would go on and on and on . . . . . .

I've got money saved up and have been looking to buy a big set and refined my search down to either the Milano and Jaws. Jaws had a bit of an unfair advantage since all the reviews were already out but now seeing the Milano in more detail my mind is completely made up.
I watched Guardians of the Galaxy today paying extra attention to the interior and I'm immpressed how well the LEGO designers have realised it in the relatively small space they had to work with. The cockpit is perfect and I love how they even got the support beams to match the real set.
While I personally prefer their casual outfits, it makes complete sense to have the minifigures in their Ravenger garb as a team.
Although no adult Groot is a bit disapointing. I hope we get a set one day where they really do him justice.
I really like that the leviathan and the figs are the same as the ones incluided in the Avengers Tower, it gives people without 500 euro to throw at 1 lego set a chance to get the cool figs and build too!

It is criminal that they gave us a Surtur and not a Balrog. Very similar creature, just swap a couple minifigs, make some tweaks to the build, add wings, and Balrog. But we get a throw away Marvel villain instead of one of the iconic creatures and scenes in cinema....maybe next year?
I actually appreciated when they did that big Tim Burton Bat Cave set, they also did a separate (much more affordable) Batmobile set (I was about to part out just the car from the Bat Cave and buy the bricks when I saw the preorder!)
I love the Milano, can't wait to buy it, build and place next to (or below in my case) the Benetar ship.

I'd love to have that black jeep and watchtower as a set alone with no minifigs. it's crazy to see lego actually make sandbags and tank traps

I wish they would do a groot mini figure with the avatar body, so it could fit in the ship and we haven’t gotten a adult groot since the first movie
Your thoughts on the leviathan reeks of Lego Ambassador privilege. Normal people can't afford the Stark Tower set, and would want to get a bunch of the main villains and heroes of the first Avengers movie. If I want Half the cast of The Avengers, I would get this set. It's not lazy, it lets regular people enjoy the same things as rich Lego fans
Frrrr they’ll also likely be designed by different people and the models are pretty different, I don’t think it’s lazy at all. Also even if people could afford stark tower finding somewhere to display it would be next to impossible but it’s much easier to display something smaller like this

@@subraxas That would make the ship bigger, this one is already big! I don't like large sets, personal taste, but for Lego the interior is perfect! My only criticism of the set is that Star Lord doesn't have his mask! :/
I saw the $20 Marvel set on shelves at my local walmart the other day (along with a dark falcon and Jedi Bob Starfighter) and couldn't beleive the price

What I Really like about the Leviathan is just using it for the elements and expand it out so that there's room inside!

FK SAKE! I was so excited about Surtur ... and knew the face and pectorals would be pritns (because rounded pieces ) ... would it really have been SO HARD to make the 4 other pieces prints as well ? .... Good god .... at this price they could have at least made prints only.

Fantastic Wave overview. Really liked the large scale Benatar in how detailed, structurally good it was. Really great to see the Millano get the same treatment in how large, detailed it is. Definitely a buy for me. The dancing Groot is a fun novelty, and display build similar to the Mario Bros. Piranha plant with a similar value despite the cost. Neat to see more rubber cape elements across the theme, as the original capes have not aged well.
Helicarrier for $80 with STICKERS is absurd.

The Milano spaceship looks great. I might customize it with a few of the recent Lego City Space pieces and have some current astronauts in it.

I'm not into Marvel at all but I LOVE that Surtur set. If someone showed this to me and asked do I think it looks cool and do I want it I'd say "yes" and "yes". And Dancing Groot could be the most creative Lego Marvel set to date.
Yup. $80 with Prints might be worth it, cuz those Runway Stickers look like a sadistic form of hell. With the Higher Prices, guess what Lego? I BUY LESS. Saying that the Milano actually looks pretty enough & Big Enough to justify under $200.
I feel like lego really doesnt really know what to do with the marvel brand anymore except going back. So many sets that just revisit much much older movies from the "good old times". I dont think a lot of kids would get excited about these now. But maybe some adult fans still want to get more stuff from marvels golden age
love the new milano! I can't wait for them to remake the bowie in a few years with roughly double the pieces. I know it can't be in the same scale as the benetar and milano because it's just so much bigger, but i think the bowie currently having the lowest piece count of the three makes it look kinda bad

It's a shame the Milano doesn't come with a turntable stand like the Benatar did, but it's still quite lovely.
I feel like Lego needs to change their process when it comes to designing sets. We all know they get given a budget for each set before it’s even designed and I think that’s what’s causing a lot of the price to value arguments. Designers are having to cram pointless stuff in to reach the budget or just settle for an over priced set when they have the skill to come in well under it, I obviously don’t have insider info to back that up and it’s a lot more complicated than that when licensing gets involved but it’s just my opinion. I feel bad for the designers of sets like obi wan vs Darth Vader, the avengers helicarrier and the duel on peridia set because what can they do realistically? Make it inaccurate to the show just to squeeze more parts in or have it be over priced either way they get told how terrible their design is…
Again just my opinion, maybe I’m completely uninformed but that’s just my observation knowing that they set budgets before the set is started.

My Guardians heart will forever belong to the Benatar and that build is beautiful! Doesn't mean I'm not going to build the hell out of the Milano. (I just wish I gave a damn about the Bowie. 😞 )

damn I was thinking August was quiet for me with just the F40. That Helicarrier and Milano will go on my list for a discount - I have the Benetar which is fantastic
2:09 I wasn't gonna voice my disagreement with your praise of the helicarrier, but the number of stickers did it for me. Stickers on long studless pieces is a pet peeve of mine. It is one of the most underwhelming forms of detail while being very annoying to line up in a way I am satisfied with.
My opinion on the set in general is that the helicarrier would've made a much more fun playset at a minifig scale, if they could have aimed for a 100 to 150$ US pricepoint. However in modern lego that is probably smaller than I remember.
As a mini I just find this set boring and visually uninteresting, even the more familiar star wars ships are more interesting due to their shape and color. Although I am not a huge star wars fan.
I don't quite understand the hype you gave this, but that isn't a problem it's still a good review. ✌️
Marvel seems to keep knocking it out of the park with the marvel guardian ships as the last one (I can’t remember it’s name, it’s the replacement for this ship and it’s mostly orange) it was on par with Star Wars UCS line but nowhere near the cost.

I like The Avengers, but I don't love it. As such I would be tempted to pick up that $50 Leviathan to go with my Quinjet, but no way am I gonna drop $500 on the Avengers Tower. This set was made for people like me.
A lot of LAN members are clueless about normal consumers. That type of stuff happens when you get everything for free and barely need to consider prices in your reviews

If one genuinely buys the Hellicarrier for $80 don’t pretend to have good money management skills. $80 for a set I can hold in my palm, that has no features whatsoever, is crazy. Studs showing everywhere too as well. If it was all nicely tiled it might have been a little more justified.

This is genuinely a really disappointing summer wave for Marvel. The Milano is the only set I’d say is fantastic, but the rest all have issues from pricing, to looks of the build, boring subject material, etc. Superheros needs to up there game, and fast.

Price Per Piece is a terrible metric to judge LEGO sets on. I'm not sure why you make such a big deal of it when it's almost completely irrelevant.
It’s a pretty good way to figure bang for your buck. if you only have a certain amount of money to spend, wouldn’t you want to get the set that’s larger and will probably take a bit more time to build?
Although it's not as important as many people make out its still a very decent and most importantly a universal metric for many sets.
@@thebenjcrewmore pieces doesn’t necessarily equal larger set though- they come in different sizes. I think it is a good metric for partially valuing a set- but I wouldn’t fully value a set on the number of its pieces. Prime example is the UCS star destroyer

@@thebenjcrew No it's not and it's so stupidly easy to understand why. 1 piece could be a stud or it could be one of those unique sculpted raised baseplates like from the Pharoh's Quest Scorpion Pyramid.
Price Per Piece is one of the worst ways to measure a LEGO set. The only thing worse would be by the box size I guess.
