Just the job. I especially wanted to know about the limitations of adding a Bluetooth adapter for headphones. You covered that, while other RUclips vids on the subject havent. Thanks!
Did you and the other thumbers even look at the video? If your TV does not have bluetooth or a 3.5 headset jack, you can hook up headsets in other ways. For example....here are two ways...... 1. Plug a cable into your red/white RCA output (not input) jacks. The other end of the cable will have a 3.5 male plug which will plug into a bluetooth transmitter. (The kind of transmitter he used in his video is a good one and about $10 on amazon) You would then turn on a pair of bluetooth headsets WITH VOLUME CONTROL to pair up. ... A nice pair is IJOY that sells for about $16 on Amazon. 2. OR you can just buy a gaming headset with volume control and plug it into a cable that would plug into your "tos" fiber jack on the back of the TV. (This is a very small female jack on the back of your tv that has a small plastic door cover with red lights coming out of it) Most TVs less than a few years old have this tos jack. I learned all of this from looking at this excellent video..... Thanks My Mate Vince!
What device is he using for the non-bluetooth headset? The one that uses 2.4 ghz? He doesn't say where or what the device is called in the video. I could really use that.
A really good informative video . I've been looking for something similar for a while. My only criticism, and it's only a little thing , I'd have liked to have seen how to go from tv audio to gaming audio when you used the gaming headphones. But that's nitpicking a little bit and as this was only a video about tv audio it wasn't necessarily supposed to be there. It was just for my personal needs. But great video, keep them coming . Thanx :-)
Excellent presentation. Instructions are clear, watched other presentations and could not understand “how to” hook up the transmitter. I have a zvox speaker and headphones and the tech was arrogant and no help at all.
I have gaming headphones with a microphone and a 3.5 mm Jack. My stereo receiver has a quarter inch Jack output for the headphones. I have an old 3.5 to quarter inch adapter that's in good shape, but when I plug it in to the headphone jack I don't get sound unless I pull the Jack halfway out of the adapter. Were the old quarter inch adapters not suitable for the new inputs that have mics?
You pretty much covered all the options and issues and projects. But I have two issues that I need help with it.One is sound through headphone jack on a 50 inch Westinghouse smart TV WE50UB4417 is extremely low and I can't just turn it up by TV's volume control and there is no option in sound settings either. Thanks!
Thanks for that tip, it came in very useful, I had dismantled all my tv and theatre surround and couldn’t remember how to reset the headphones, So cheers mate, Duncan.
Thanks for the video, but what can I do in my case? After pairing my new Srhythm NC25 headset with the Sony SmartTV KDL-42W655A via Bluetooth adapter, I have sound, but I cannot adjust its volume on the headset. Where is the problem?
At 9.30, where no sound is coming through the TV, rather than keep plugging and unplugging, check your TV settings. Mine has a headphone link which you turn on or off and then the sound comes through the speakers OR TV. :)
I have a Samsung smart TV 32 inch model # 32j4303. The audio output is digital optical audio output mainly for connecting with sound systems or amplifiers. However, it does not have a 3.5 mm jack output. Tell me in what way can I connect my earphones with the TV as in which splitters or connectors or converters or cables do I need to purchase ???
I have a 2018 samsung smart tv... regular speakers are not so good.. hard for me to understand what they are saying... and when i make it real loud can even be worse... can you recommend a decent wired headset that is low cost... and with this solve the issue? thanks
Hi I have a TV with a soundbar connected, what sort of headphones do I need to watch TV and hear the audio through the headphones wirelessly and privately?
I just brought a new smart tv. Out had Bluetooth but don't want to buy another pair of headphones as I've got a pair of wireless ones. They sit on a cradle and the cradle plugs in to the left and right audio out but my new t.v. does not have that so tried using headphone port still nothing what should I do
Very good video. Have you tried this on a laptop? Or a transmitter/receiver on a laptop. I'm looking to buy something like this to listen to the tv and also Skype, possibly use my tv as a monitor with wireless headset.
Do all bluetooth receivers do that? where it connects automatically to the closes device? I use on for my car to connect to my phone. But on the phone is easier because you can go in the settings and connect it from there. I don't know if it would automatically connect to my heaphones.
Hi Vince,I have connected a sound bar to my smart tv and a Bluetooth transmitter from tv to headphones but I still can't receive sound coming from the headphones???
The problem is that new "smart" TVs from Samsung don't have aux port. I don't know what they were thinking really.. In addition, I have a quality DAC which I connected through TOSLINK but I only hear some distorted sound and it doesn't work. So I won't be able to use my quality headphones as well. So the only option for me seems to be investing in a bluetooth headphone which wouldn't have the 10% of the quality that my DAC and existing headphone provide..
I have watched more videos dealing with not trying to annoy my neighbors while watching tv in my room, my question is what’s the difference between Bluetooth receiver and Bluetooth transmitter
Hi on your 2nd illustration using the the Tao transmitter. I followed your example and paired up a set of earbuds. Although this worked and the sound was good the picture is totally out of sync with the sound there is about a 1 second delay between the picture and sound. So unfortunately totally un watchable.
Our Samsung t.v. doesn't have a jack for headphones or bluetooth. It never occurred to me that a new t.v. would not be compatible with phones. We were told to buy a soundbar and even that doesn't work with the headphones. My poor old mom has hearing loss and she can only hear the t.v. with headphones. Any ideas?
My brand New TV doesn't have Bluetooth and the 3.5mm jack when I insert headphones just sounds really fuzzy/buzzing/static, it's definitely the TV I've removed all other power devices and still even when the volume is on one the buzzing is the same volume even when it's turned up, so just ordered a usb to 3.5mm adapter, anyone know if this will work? I'm vexxed!
When using headphones on old tv without headphones jack the sound can be enhanced by using a headphone amplifier. Please do correct me if I am wrong.also suggest if it can be used on a home theater with no headphone Jack.
vince? do you know how I could have 4 hdmi inputs going to 4 TVs in separate rooms I was looking at the 4x4 hdmi matrix switch but that's to pricey for my price range any other options you could recommend?
Is there a way I can soon as I turn my bluetooth headphones on,that my tv asked me permission to connect instead of turning on my headphones and going into my menu on my tv each time I wanna pair my headphones onto my tv. My old bluetooth headphones was able to do that but my new ones I just wish I can just turn my headphones on that my tv recognizes my headphones as soon as I turn them on.someone help me
so what about a wired headset (btw headSETs are headphones with mic attached in some way, headPHONES are just, well, headphones without mic attached I can't tell you how many posts I came across today that say "headphones" instead of "headsets")? My tv is a 6 or so year old 19-inch Element tv that has very limited options for ports. and when I say limited I mean like.....1 hdmi port (that I have been shareing between my ps4 and my destkop), 1 usb port, 1 VGA port, 1 headphone port, 1 set of RCA ports and one of the ports you connect a cable box into. Because I've been using the HDMI port for my desktop all the sound is going to my tv, which is good and all if I only wanted to use the headphones portion to the headset but I got these things to be able to use Discord's calling feature on my desktop. Can I please get some advice from anyone on how to fix this? (Also yes I'm desperate enough to take my proplem to youtube -_- sue me [that was sarcastic, please don't sue me])
