- In this Star Wars Outlaws gameplay breakdown news update video we breakdown all of the space gameplay as well as the combat and customization details that we know about space for Star Wars Outlaws. Last video, we discussed the new Ubisoft report that provides new details about the Star Wars Outlaws release date and when we might get a new trailer or gameplay! Last video, out of Insider Gaming that suggests that the Star Wars Outlaws release date is in the first half of 2024 and may be as early as May 2024! recently, we discussed the interview with Julian Gerighty where he discusses new planet details and new details about the reputation system in Star Wars Outlaws. Recently, we discussed the potential Star Wars Outlaws release date as well as what Outlaws needs to get right when it comes to the open world gameplay and the challenges Star Wars Outlaws faces to become one of the best Star Wars games.
We have also broken down the most recent interview with Ubisoft Massive Narrative Director Navid Khavari where he provided new context and details for Star Wars Outlaws gameplay, story, and open world! He provides insight into how the team focused on crafting an original character with Lucasfilm instead of having a Star Wars Outlaws character creation system, the intentions of Kay Vess, and how the Battle of Hoth plays into the atmosphere of the game. There was no mention of a Star Wars Outlaws release date unfortunately.
Earlier last year, we did a frame by frame breakdown of the Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay Walkthrough trailer that is referenced throughout this article. This gameplay provided us with so many great new gameplay, story, and combat details. We got our first look at the Star Wars Outlaws blaster combat, the Star Wars Outlaws speeder gameplay, the Star Wars Outlaws ship & space battles gameplay, and so much more!
Star Wars Outlaws is the upcoming Ubisoft Star Wars Open World game made by Massive Entertainment. The Star Wars Outlaws release date is currently set for 2024 on PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. The game is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi where players will become Kay Vess, a clever scoundrel in the galactic underworld. The article from Star Wars states that the Star Wars Outlaws story will feature Kay “looking to attempt one of the biggest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen, all in an effort to start an new life”.
Although Star Wars Outlaws is a new & original single player story with exciting new characters, we still got some familiar Star Wars planets & characters in the new trailer. This includes: Han Solo frozen in carbonite, Jabba the Hutt, Pyke Syndicate, Canto Bight, Cantonica (The Last Jedi), & Kijimi (The Rise of Skywalker). In the article for Star Wars Outlaws the Creative Director at Massive Entertainment provided “With the Galactic Empire on the heels of the Rebel Alliance, and the criminal underworld thriving, an outlaw like Kay Vess has a whole galaxy of opportunity in front of her”.
Needless to say we are INCREDIBLY excited for this game and can’t wait for more Star Wars Outlaws gameplay, trailers, story details, and news updates to breakdown and analyze on the channel!

I’m just excited for the open world. Feel like it’s been wanted since 1313 and not a single company jumped on it.
Right? It's a world of futuristic sci-fi and fantasy with various cultures which basically got limitless possibility. It's just like a dream for openworld genre.

I love how when you make the jump it appears to be seamless I also like how you can drive through the fog from the lower atmosphere to the upper atmosphere
It does, it's what people wanted Starfield to do yet didn't. I don't want star wars outlaws to take long to release it's a truly next gen looking game.
I'd like for a first-person cockpit view of your ship. I hope there are many ways to customize your ship both inside and out. And would absolutely love just free-roaming space missions.
I’m definitely most excited to (hopefully) be able to take down and maybe even raid larger ships like Star Destroyers. And seamless travel between planets with no loading screens since no game other than No Mans Sky has done that
Maybe we'll get to pilot a rebel fighter at some point

I love the idea of being able to seamlessly travel from atmosphere to space. Hopefully there will be some customisation for the ships or maybe special missions where you can fly a tie or rebel fighter
Ground to atmo to space seamless transitions has been a dream in a Star Wars game since the early 2000s with concepts of Battlefront III. I am incredibly excited to finally see it come to reality.
I just want that the gameplay and all the space exploration doesn’t feel repetitive and this transversal don’t feel clunky and like a chore but something I feel pleasure enjoying

I'm really hoping now that skull and bones is out they can kind of leave that to set by itself and really focus on outlaws, and hopefully give us some more content in the coming weeks, and potentially a clearer idea of a release date

I am glad to see that the gameplay is more arcade like than simulation. I liked all of the original X-Wing games on PC, the space combat from the Battlefront games, and Squadrons, but arcade like seems to be a better choice for this. It does look kind of simple though from what we've seen so far. I want to be able to explore space and get lost in the atmosphere just like you said in the video. Like flying along and oh there's a pirate ship over there that you could possibly go raid for supplies or upgrades. Also like you said I hope that it isn't repetitive and forced every time that it becomes a burden or an annoyance to get through.
If it is repetitive then we spent 70 dollars on this for nothing

i hope we can get out of the cockpit when we’re in hyperspace to explore the ship. i loved that downtime between planets in the jedi survivor games where i could change my gear/loadout, get new skills, etc.
It looks great to me. I’m super excited. This could be a game that gets lots of support and updates and just lives for a long time. Single player adventure games are where it’s at but this seems to me like a great platform for online multiplayer games as well.
I’m excited to hopefully be able to take down star destroyers or maybe even get to find and possibly board the second deathstar while they’re building it

I wish they would make a Star Wars Elite style game where you got to buy new ships with some ships being better in different roles (Some being better at combat with others being better at cargo hauling for example.) or a Star Wars Pirates style game (similar concept but focused on bigger ships)
Tbh this game has me hyped um excited about several things, but definitely one of which is the open world moving from planet to space seamlessly, allowing for exploration of other planets.

Somehing Im not expecting but would really make a difference to me, is the ability to get up and walk around while in space. So far it looks very arcady though

I’m excited about this and will definitely be there day one, but if any Star Wars game could use a seamless space to planet gameplay it would be a game based on a smuggler / scoundrel archetype. That said, I am curious about space battles breaking out the on foot gameplay.

I like that its set in space!
I'm excited for encounters with legendary ships, like The Millenium Falcon or Boba Fett's Slave One. I really think that it will happen, at least with one of them, most likely with Slave One. It fits in the narrative. And Star Destroyers, Super Star Destroyers, maybe even the second Death Star, now in construction. As for the space gameplay in only wish to be very well done, and a lot of fun. Can't wait.
I dream of living in such a diverse world with such odds that demand to be met with rebellious actions.

Seamless travel from ground to space is clearly hard, Star citizen does it best and its been in playable alpha for 10years. IMO Well worth the effort though....

I hope we can high Jack space ships and move freely through space in multiple different ways. Like if your spaceship is gunna crash from damage and there is a way to high Jack different space ships and pirate it. 😂
The gameplay is basically a modified version of starlink battle for atlas which is a very good game… but without its atmospheric traversal… side note: I wish there were more than one main protagonists I mean it’s called outlaws no offense but outlaws mean plural… not singular should have been Star Wars outlaw… just saying it’s not called Jedi’s fallen order or Jedi survivors…
They will do it better than Starfield, that is for sure

I'm hoping that they will have a battlefront 2 space battle configuration with the ability to fly through capital ships and to extend that and be able to land on the capital ships not empire etc but like the mercenary ships

after playing skull and bones, all of you should SERIOUSLY reconsider your expectations for this game. And not for the better….
"Flying above the planet was something that we chose not to do, because it was going to take us a huge amount of effort for very little payoff" this is BS at its highest level. This is one of the coolest things that makes Star Wars, fell like Star Wars!! Think about it what do people love about battlefront 2 and 3(demo), its the seamless transition between ground to space combat. How can decade old video game have such a fundamental feature that recent star wars game fail over and over to implement. Now that the worst is confirmed I hope its not as bad as Star Field. That was awful.
If this game fails to have a character customizer then it’s not worth buying.

Huge mistake by devs, to not have a character creator. Vice versa for Jedi survivor. We want character options! I don't want to play a wee teenie bopper...

I feel bad for the 2 winners of skull and bones cause the game is not doing well at all, every review ive seen is highly recomending people not to play it
So - the fluid take off is just a better masked version of the travel sequence we already had in destiny n which is definitly just as annoying as a loading screen, once u have it seen often enough.
The vehicular gameplay is "no simulation after all" means arcad - ish "space gta" , not "space gt" n they include "light rpg elements" meaning they exist to b there n help the game to pretend anything but average, but it will b near pointless n/or boring in performance related customizations n only offering much where it's about cosmetics (to provide bait to encourage microtransactions for junk collections, posing as "dlc").
Quite interesting, how the subtext of a follow up interview's reitteration appears if it is viewed in full context of the lofty promisses, made at the start.
What a downgrad already. How will it turn out, after crunch related bugs, sloppy n lazyness caused issues, cut content due to illusionary deadlines n all the usual trouble that plagues current day tripple a games more often than not.
It's just about the spacestuff but already is all i hear, a pathetic attempt to prevent a hype from building, which was no reason to avoid lies when it was to get some early attention but by no means can this game risk to suffer a cyberpunk fate.
If the relativations here r an indicator for the games aspects at large, this would easily b in the cards, just gameplaywise. Quality is another issue n i'm sadly, rather expect to see it release in extreme need of a huge bugfix patch, than a high quality product that runs smooth n evenly well from start to end.
It's prolly even a not too bad case, if it can make it work like that with one only. ;)
