We have an earthen swimming pond and use the beneficial bacteria once a week. We are struggling with what I believe is algae floating on the top. Can we use the other three products if we swim in the pond?
Yes, absolutely… just be patient!! The natural approach does take time
So im on five acres and 20 years back my dad dug a big hole in the ground. It's about 30 x 30 ( maybe 8 feet deep definitely deeperwhen it floods). He said it would help with the flooding and be a extra water source for the cows we had at the time. Cows are gone and we still have really bad flooding. I don't think we actually ever had seen that hole ever dry up. Any how I've noticed from the pass 10 years we have had ducks and other birds stay a bit and take off from seasons. I would like to naturally clean up the water there and expand it for the migrating birds . My question is would any of the products mentioned hurt my dogs or natural animals? Also is it possible for the hole have fish in it?
Absolutely you can add fish, the products will not harm any animals. Great question and good luck with the pond.
I recently bought land in East Texas with a natural clay bottom pond thats about 50 ft across. It fills up in winter and by July is about a foot deep. I dont know if it is a spring fed pond or rain dependent. How can I make it hold water and not leak out? I want to put plants, maybe a oxygen bubbles, fish and make it full of life year round. I would like to dig it much deeper during the low point in August.
Liner is the best bet however expensive… look into bentonite clay, either in pellet or rolled sheet form
Do you recommend aeration on these ponds as well?
Yes we do, aeration is part of the equation... great question
Where can you purchase these products?
Through Aquascape Inc.
