I remember of a incident where a water windmill on a farm by a high way blew up and sent one of the blades in front of a oncoming brand new accord it ended up splitting their rims in half and I hate to have seen the undercarriage of that car
I’m soooo glad most automobile manufacturers have gone back to the durable Timing Chain. They all made the excuse that the timing belt was quieter. When a dealership told me that, I told them that if the manufacturer would spend $10 bucks on insulation then no one would hear the timing chain. It was just another way for the manufacturers to screw their “Valued Customers”, while saving them a few bucks.
I worked at Jiffy Lube in my hometown back in the late 70s. I never had a complaint about my oil changes. I had many repeat clients because they liked my work.
Jiffy Lube has repeat clients because they need their oil changed and can't do it them selves or pay dealer prices, or want to wait for an appointment. Nothing to do with the people who do the oil change.
These videos make me wish I filmed all the terrible cars I worked on back when I was a mechanic. Many of them would have topped anything that is on the internet. Smart phones definitely make it easy for everyone today to film everything.

We spend years perfecting these systems to mainly protect the driver inside the car in the case an accident happens. That is where most of the money goes when designing a new car. And when a cat isn't taken care of, those systems are the first to go, because of how hard it was in the first place to maintain the safety. So don't fret too much about it. But at the same time, make sure you yourself are taking care of your car. Oil changes on time, as well as a full inspection every once in a while. Replace rusted parts the right way, by welding new material back into place, and repainting. Don't buy a car outside your means if you can't afford the time or money to do this, or else you are just like these people, and you will be the one paying the consequences at the end of the day for your incompetence.
@@someweirdoguy6633 I always take care of my vehicles, in fact I do most of the work on them and never have issues, but growing up my dad taught me a lot of how to repair cars, plus my step dad was an ASE mechanic for around 20 years, and I got a perfect score in the mechanical section on my ASVAB. That said, the vehicles that were on this channel which have have issues with the ball joint, bushings, brake issues, ect are the ones I have the most problems with. Those are the ones that would cause accidents due to how most drivers would panic. Even NASCAR drivers who've spent years perfecting their driving, still have issues going through a crash without taking damage.
In my 20 years of wrenching I've seen these issues and also had clients sign a liability release if they decline repairs. These are of the very few good reasons for gov't intervention...
I have a 1995 Camaro Z28 and a 1993 Jeep Wrangler that's been sitting 7+ years EACH and they are in BETTER condition than some of the newer vehicles shown in this video. Proof that somehow either people aren't very smart when it comes to at-home repairs or just interesting issues due to manufacturer, astounding
If you maintain and follow the Owner’s Manual, you won’t have these extreme problems. You’ll only have wearing down parts but not instant broke down parts. Some people have no clue and/or just don’t give a f*ck. All they know is just Gas and Brake.

You can only notice on smooth roads that also has speed bumps. You can’t tell from uneven roads with pot holes, etc. Just make sure you have your major fluids changed. Like Oil, Transmission, Transfer Case, Differential, Coolant. If your car has over 100K, do the water pump and timing belt too. If you car feels normal with no abnormal sounds, handling, etc, then your internal components should still be good. When something comes loose, breaks or stop working, you’ll hear/feel where it’s coming from. I’m a mechanic from Toyota and these are some basics things to do with used cars.

At the 13:08 mark the dry rotted tires. Look just like the ones that came off of my Cadillac on a trip to Texas a few years ago. After driving from Springfield Illinois to Amarillo. We left the restaurant to see the flat. I changed it with the spare. And when I flipped it over to put it in the flat one in the trunk. That’s when I saw the dry rot. All things considered the distance, the heat , location of the flat and highway speed. It could have been so much more worse. Even though it took a lot of looking for four white walls. We got everything done safely. All four tires were like that. Even the tire tech said. Really who looks at the inside of the tire?!?. We both do now.

The scary part is that these awful rotten car’s are driving around on the road. Rotten unibody rotten subframes broken springs disk brakes with no pads or completely broken down engines and tires. And idiots driving around saying don’t try to upsell me on some extra work. It’s like a horror movie.
Most of those vehicles are far less than 10 years old and are what you would normaly find in a wrecker's yard in Europe. I worked many years on classic vehicles of 20 30 40 years old who where like new compare to what appaling condition American let their vehicle become.
Our government sure doesn't help us here in the north. Road salt disintegrates our vehicles to the point where some of us buy a "winter beater" because we know it won't last if it's driven during the winter. Nice car stays in the garage away from the salt.
We need more actual statements from customes, explanations of what actually caused the breakdowns, and no links on the video covering up the last clip.
You know some off these problems are definitely customer's fault but how many are from cheap imported parts and Hwy departments using brine solution on the roads during the winter. I have also seen people following brine trucks closely and they wonder why their vehicles don't last. 1 question how many EV's have you seen with rust problems, do one on that.
truthfully rusted out frames sub frames. crossmembers should fall on the maker of the vehicle. look at all the rotten truck beds. don’t see any of that on older vehicles. they need to be sued

They are factory,they're considered "freeze plugs" so that they stay closed,unless alot of water gets in it and tries to freeze and expand,in which case it will push those plugs out of the way.

2:17 The same thing happened to me at a Jiffy/f u Quiky😂. They had to pay out for a whole engine clean. After the job I just sat there with the engine on idle. After about 10 minutes I went to go pop the hood because I smelled oil burning and saw a light haze of smoke. I never left the lot. The whole thing was on video. They first attempted to clean it up with shop rags. I said no NOT TODAY guys 😂. I'LL BE SENDING YOUR SHOP THE CLEANING BILL. I found a thief that wanted to charge $267. Naturally I took him up on his amazing once and a lifetime deal!! 😂 Sorry, but this was hilarious. Especially when the Jiffy saw the bill they owed me. They offered to give me a credit at thier shop for $400 worth of labor in the future. 😂💦 I'm dying !! Safe to say I said NO THANKS and opted for the pay me back in cash + the charge of the oil change. I swear it felt like I was twisting the knife in management. What a exciting experience everyone had. Those guys looked so happy..😢 Lesson here..PUT ON THE DAME CAP! Better yet don't go to these places. If you do check the work before leaving or agreeing to anything.
Any one of these cars could be mine. I get the oil changed. But, even if I lift the hood to look at the engine, I would not know what I was looking at. So, how do I find a good and honest mechanic? I know for a fact, it is not the dealership.

There needs to be laws that if a car is a Legitimate hazard, the shop should be able to prevent them from leaving until it's fixed.
They have to sign a waiver to leave if it's in this bad of condition and they decline repairs

That timing chain wasn’t loose it was that there new variable timing. Vary a little this way and vary a little that way!!! It’s just fine 😂

The same thing happened to me at a Jiffy/f u Quiky😂. They had to pay out for a whole engine clean. After the job I just sat there with the engine on idle. After about 10 minutes I went to go pop the hood because I smelled oil burning and saw a light haze of smoke. I never left the lot. The whole thing was on video. They first attempted to clean it up with shop rags. I said no NOT TODAY guys 😂. I'LL BE SENDING YOUR SHOP THE CLEANING BILL. I found a thief that wanted to charge $267. Naturally I took him up on his amazing once and a lifetime deal!! 😂 Sorry, but this was hilarious. Especially when the Jiffy saw the bill they owed me.
They offered to give me a credit at thier shop for $400 worth of labor in the future. 😂💦 I'm dying !!
Safe to say I said NO THANKS and opted for the pay me back in cash + the charge of the oil change. I swear it felt like I was twisting the knife in management.
What a exciting experience everyone had. Those guys looked so happy..😢

Any one of these cars could be mine. I get the oil changed. But, even if I lift the hood to look at the engine, I would not know what I was looking at. So, how do I find a good and honest mechanic? I know for a fact, it is not the dealership.
