@@nora-fk9sf sticker price is veryyy expensive but they're pretty generous with financial aid! I was also able to transfer my financial aid from my home school, so there are ways to pay for it :)
@@elenae.3796 you spend about half the time on land and about half at sea. Honestly, I miss the ship more than anything (I watched this video just to see it). Homesickness is definitely real but the shipboard community is a tight-knit family and the freedom of being on the other side of the world not having to worry about the everyday stresses of home is unreal. As an alum, it changed the way I think about the world!
@@aidenvantol5028 Can i ask how much it was for you? i also have scholarships and things from home but they aren't much so i'm trying to apply to as many scholarships as possible since i've just been admitted to the spring 2021 trip but i still feel it may not be feasible but i really dont know, i would love some like tips from someone who got to go!

it usually costs the same as a regular college tuition I think :)

This program seems SO COOL but how do you plan what you do when leave the ship? Are there options or do you have to plan it all yourself?? Also PLEASE make a cat highlight on your Instagram, the cats deserve it
I can speak to this as an alum...there are "field programs" organized by Semester At Sea that last for any number of days (they buy your flights, give you food, put you in nice hotels, etc.). OR you can travel independently (with friends) there are computers on the ship you can use to book flights, airbnbs, research what to do/see. I went into my voyage with exactly this concern and it was never once an issue!

It’s so wired remembering what it was like to be in college, away from home for the first time ever. That super fresh feeling where everything is vast and options are everywhere. Watching how she is and stuff just reminds me so much of that time in my life. It’s crazy how life changes, and it’s like, you didn’t even realize it did. I definitely wasn’t thinking what it’d feel like to be 36 then, and just thought that was ancient and so far away. I think sometime in your twenties, a significant change happens, like you start a relationship, or move out, or start a new job, or something like that and you don’t realize that sets the course for a new life that you won’t notice till later when looking back. All the sudden you’re like, wait..where did 7 years just go? It looks like she’s enjoying herself so that’s all you can do. Have fun being young!

the trip costs 20,000 dollars but all expenses are paid, the food, laundry, spa, gym, bed, and all the trips to countries and everything you do there. plus, you can apply for scholarships and financial aid

The relationship that you have if your favourite shaft reminds me of my favourite Chef for my first year of University and I just hope that all of the incoming first-years appreciate him as much as me and all of my friends did 😭 he was such a sweet guy and would always modify your stuff however you wanted

I’ve been on a couple of cruises and even though this doesn’t have the clubs, constant drinking, casinos and food buffets (plus 24hr pizza and ice cream) it would be amazing to get to live for a few months getting to study while looking out over the ocean and getting to port even though it may be a mostly educational trip.
I want to do this so badly. I'm crying. Let me go on the boat for a semester of high school plz.

When you mentioned having a sea bae, it reminded me of my first year of University and made me realize that I couldn't have gone on the rampage that I did with the amount of guys that I did if we were all at a semester at Sea because it's just to tighten it I loved the fact that I knew what dorm the guy lived in and to just a boy that part of campus but you can't do that on a boat when there's a very small amount of students not thousands 😰😭😂

i’m planning on attending this. I’m going to get a job throughout all of highschool and that should help afford it. if you need help affording it i’d recommend getting a job for as long as you can before scheduling it. i plan to go in spring with my friend, with the money you cannot spend any of it and you just save it all. it’s quite expensive but i’m then getting a bunk bed room. plus, i’ll look for any scholarships but from what i know there isn’t many at all and they aren’t very good but they’re worth it. i’m only applying to schools that have this program and i’m going sophomore year of college as that’s the common year to go.
I don’t even know why I still watch these videos. I would be sea sick before I even get on the boat.

look into grants / scholarships / financial aid!! a lot of home universities will also help out with study abroad
