Personally I like the idea of a bottom-feeder based antagonist feeding off of nostolgia, specifically targeting 4 after everyone seemingly forgot about them (except 8)

A lot of interesting points! Personally I think Tartar will return, but I agree that it can easily come across as lazy or generic. I've been thinking for a while on how they could make his return interesting and thought of something I'm a fan of.

I'm thinking the digital tower is a depository for sanitized octolings minds. The robot is the firewall that tartar put in, so that is why it looks similar.

This might be a wild theory but I believe that Agent 4 is being used to make these shadow clones, which is why they look like that on the poster, and why they’re surrounded by other silhouettes. These shadow clones would behave exactly like the Octolings from all of the other story modes. I believe the mantis shrimp “scientist-looking” character is the one cloning Agent 4, and one of parts of the story will be rescuing them. Not sure what the motive would be here but I think it’s a fun idea.

I still hope inkopolis is actually bleached but using what we know now, it being bleached with digital shards could be cool

The chaos vs order thing is nicely explained when you think that chaos and order mean different things to different people. To Marina, order could mean something like “everyone is nice to each other forever” whereas for Tartar it means to get rid of all mistakes and conflict. On the other hand, to characters like 4, chaos can mean change and diversity, while to Octavio it could mean war.

I personally wouldn't worry about side order spoilers because the way DLC works on switch is that even if there is content preloaded, you need an encryption key that is not sent out until launch so there is quite literally no way the DLC can leak early. Similar thing happened with the Inkopolis DLC where it was in the game files before its launch but there was no way to load it early as the files were encrypted.

It's always interesting seeing people and their take on Grizz. The thing I like about him is that he's really NOT a bear anymore. I mean just look at the guy. He dissolves into ooze, he survives a point-blank rocket implosion, he is not a bear anymore. The fact he survives and admits to his wrong before his defeat lends itself to the possibility of the dev team bringing him back in the future and giving Grizz a redemption arc. Imagine the NSS having to deal with that, an enemy that admits they were wrong in their goals and now they're trying to lend a hand to help Grizz and become better.

I think the robots def have something to do with side order since in the first trailer there’s a piece of concept(?) art with a robot’s head visible in the corner. Maybe it was just a rlly old concept tho

Personally, i think this character will probably serve as a similar role to CQ-cumber or ORCA just cuz of their placement on the poster being rather central and un-intimidating. And i know we already know that role is probably gonna be Acht, but notice how they're standing next to each other, so maybe both of them will play that same role, only for different types of levels. Maybe the new guy will guide you through the higher levels of the tower, the levels that Acht are less informed on prior to you entering and they know more about

I think everyone overlooks the logo on achts cap, too me it looks like the machine we seee in the end of the second trailer, and she had the cap in splatoon 2.

The real villain is the staff all along (jk lol). My theory is that Grizz is a sort of "experiment gone wrong" the scientist could have done experiments on Grizz but it somehow gave him a heightened intelligence, referring to him as "the anomaly". As for glen fiddler, I think the theory tracks (he makes the copy bots+loby, he has a bleached claw, he is good with technology, he has a 3d model) so I don't blame people for making the assumption that he's related to side order somehow. I just think he would be a boring character imo his name and appearance is goofy, I just don't think I could take him seriously as an antagonist. I agree with the chat logs, they provided insight to the characters and I would love to see something akin to that again! Whatever they do with side order I'm sure it'll be great and I will defiantly enjoy playing it! 💞
