I’ve been shaving my head for the past 8 years or so. I’m brand new to thus new head shaver game though. I saw some ads for the PitBull Gold Pro Skull Shaver so I decided to get one. It’s been a complete game-changer! I love it and makes shaving a breeze.
If anyone in the UK is watching this, go for the Remington Balder Pro (Rx5 over here). Retails at around £60 but the Pitbull Gold Pro is £120, double the price!!! I've used it for a year and has been great value for money. Only just had to change the blade, used every other day. I called Remmington and they sent me one in the post for £25. Hopefully you can do the same in the US rather than buying an imitation. Hope this helps.
The blades must be good on the remington then. I've been using a Philips aquatouch twice a day am and pm to keep that smoothness. But the blades on my Philips go blunt within 8-10 weeks. Been sitting on the fence for the last week about purchasing the remington or the pitbull to be honest.
They are not that far apart when it comes to functionality.. I just like the feel of the Pitbull slightly more and Skull Shaver offers multiple models of replacement blades , The Remington only has the one. Thanks for watching!
@@style_45 what are the difference between the blades? Does one cut shorter or longer? I’m not ready to go bic bald. But I’m afraid I don’t have much of a choice…
They pretty much cut the same length, its the way they cut that is different between the 3. They take in to account skin sensitivity, ,hair thickness and Comfort.
When shaving with a pitbull you have to slide your fingers in between the blade and the engine. There's two grooves you open your fingers up like a V and slide your hands into those grooves and then you shave.
I just recently started shaving my head. I too chose the Pitbull Skull Shaver Gold Pro. I think the one thing I do differently, which wasn't covered in your review, is I do a wet shave. More specifically, I use shaving cream and it really makes for a smooth and easy cut. No tugging at all. I'm still new to this, so I'm trying to figure out how frequently I need to shave my head (growth in some spots is evident within 24 hours). But overall, I'm pleased w/the Pitbull. Also, I find the battery life awesome! Granted, I'm not shaving everyday - but at 3X/weekly, It takes about 3 weeks before its less than 50%. I like that. Again - thanks for the review; truly appreciate it!
Yes I didn’t think about doing a wet shave for the video but recently one of the channel subscribers suggested I try it so I did and it was great... I too shave about 3x/week and the Pitbull is such a time saver IMO . Thanks for watching!
Ah man, I LOVE IT!! I’m new to this whole thing. I suppose I’m spoiling myself because I can’t imagine doing it w/ an actual razor. 🪒 I haven’t figured out how to open it to REALLY clean it yet.
I went with the skull shaver myself. Just purchased the cleaning stand and the baron replacement head (for sensitive skin). I'm really impressed with this shaver and glad i got it. Thank you for confirming.
@socraticdisciple1761 you can definitely feel stubble, but it gets close enough for it to look like you shaved your head with a razor… I personally don’t see no difference in terms of the look between shaving my head with the razor and using the pitbull… if you’re a person that shaves their head every day, I would say stick to a razor because with the Pitbull, you need at least two days of hair growth for it to look like a freshly shaved head when you use it… I shave my head every 2 to 3 days, so it works for me.
I have been one of the clipper guys for years. One of the issues is that I need my wife to check for the spots I missed. I used my Pit Bull for the first time today and it is a game changer!
He first one I received worked about 2 minutes after charging it! I sent it back and and received a new one. It would not charge or work at all! The shaver was crap, but customer service was easy to work with and fast to act.
I went back and forth between Remington and Pitt Bull. I bought the Pitt Bull on sale and it was about twenty US dollars more than Remington and so far I’m really happy with it. I’ve used it about a month, the more I use it, the more I feel it was money well spent! Close shave and great battery life. My suggestion is wet shave with Bee Bald shaving cream 👌🏽
I’m glad you’re enjoying it…. I used mine dry for about nine months because I was skeptical about using it in the shower but I’ve been using it wet for over the past year and a half and so far it’s been working out great. Thanks for watching!
Went for the Remington RX5 (as known in the UK) mainly due to cost difference, totally happy with the cut that it gives, have not used a razor as a comparison but certainly short enough, and way shorter than the no guard beard clippers I was using before.
Yeah i’m glad to hear the RX5 is working out for you, I use both the Pitbull and the RX5, I have one in the house and the other in the car. Thanks for watching!
Lol 😂 the first comment I got was from them… even though I picked The Pitbull over the Remington I did say some things about the Pitbull that I’m sure they didn’t appreciate! 🤷🏽♂️ nevertheless I do appreciate your comment and thanks for watching!
Thanks for your input on this shaver it has helped me to decide on these two shavers. I will go with you on this, it seemed like a honest opinion David age 69
I used to shave daily with Gillett 5 blade disposable razor blades. The higher quality orange one. First of all, these blades blow away the usual less expensive ones. 30 days of close and comfortable shaves, particularly if you repeatedly go over the same area. Having said this, I started shaving my head with William's Lectric Shave pre-shave lotion. I have used it on and off for about 50 years. I'm able to get a close head shave with my 3 blades Norelco high-speed shaver very quickly. I switch back and forth with the Gillett pivoting razor on my face, just to experience the closeness and comfort. The Lectric Shave is a great product.
I am still trying to decide what to buy but its interesting to me that you gave the skull shaver a negative review on the grip when you were holding it wrong which I think is one of their bigger selling points. The entire reason for that skinny neck part is to hold it between your fingers so you can basically just slide your hand across your head. The top part where you are holding it is more of a store for the battery and motor than anything I believe.
There’s not only one way to hold it there are grooves on the side of the body to hold it by the body …I didn’t give it a negative review I was just stating some of the things I like and dislike about it…while almost 2 years later mine is still working if that’s any help…. Thanks for watching!
Just gone through two Remington rx5 shavers, both lasted just over two weeks before they wouldn't work, pressing the on button did nothing, and fully charged. Had my money refunded and now thinking of the Pitbull.
@@style_45 would still think it should last longer than a couple of weeks, and only using it twice a week in that time , bad batch? Maybe as was purchased from same retailer, but regardless I wasn't going for third time lucky. Pitbull gold pro now ordered.
Hi there, I think the pitbull is meant to be held differently. You’re supposed to slip your fingers between the heads and the battery unit. The grip is actually their main differentiator and the thing people love the most about it. Cheers
Actually there’s multiple ways to hold the Pitbull , the one you described which is their selling point and holding the main body.. Many people use both for certain areas of the head …. Still the The Remington just feels better in the hand to me even taking the method you mentioned into consideration. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review. I was trying to decide which one to purchase. I was leaning towards the Pitbull Gold Pro, but wasn't decided. Now I'm sure. I'm ordering the Pitbull Gold Pro right now. Thanks again.
Excellent review and helped me decide which brand to go with (Pitbull). I've been razor shaving my head for the past 25 years and am just tired of it. LOL!!
I have the Remington and it might be fine for people with thinner hair. I have thick hair and it doesn't like trying to cut through the stubble. My hair also is a pain the ass to clean out of the head. I have the same gripe about that 5th blade as well. I feel like the center blade does 90% of the shaving. I have to rotate the shaver on an angle and swap it around in my hand to try to get the most out of each blade. I'm tempted to ditch it for the Pitbull one. To give an idea how thick my hair is, I I'm good for about 3 to 4 face shaves or 1 whole head shave and I dull out Gillete and Schick razor blades.
@@jdsykes9125 lmao. I ended up getting the Philips 5000. On sale it’s about a third the price of the pitbull. So far I like it and it works really well. Not to mention Philips quality..
A little confused about the Remington. In another video, someone showed the all of the heads flexing inward when the center one was pressed. I realize this is several years ago, but did your unit not do this? Doesnt seem like it did when you showed the close up. So I'm guessing they fixed this?
I'm buying my pitbull for my birthday a gift to myself now I never tried this before I seen tons of reviews and there all the same but I wanna know if you or anyone who have done this use the pit bull while your hair is wet is it more better then dry cause I seen alot of reviews about that and for the replacement blades how long do I need to keep the old blades .
When I first got the pitbull, I used it dry for a couple months because I didn’t want to get it wet and risk it getting damaged but for the past year and a half I’ve been using it wet with shaving cream and I feel you get a smoother shave and my pitbull still works fine… As far as replacement blades go.. skull shaver recommends replacing them every 3 to 6 months With my original blade I used for about a year before I replaced it, so it’s really up to you!
Good to know. I have the Remington RX5, very happy with its speed and performance, especially when compared to using clippers but was wondering if there was something even faster.
JSEKs, I bought Remington neopreme fishing Waders at Walmart and they literally just fell apart at the seams... and only after after about 2 years and maybe 8 uses. They were pretty expensive.... and after a half dozen calls, I had to eat it as no one in "Customer Service'" ever called me back... Also, the last Remington electric shaver I bought (Yellow plastic wet/dry model 3 yrs ago) ... sucked. Yes I oiled it and cleaned it, but it still took 15 min to shave my head! But the battery and charge is great!
As far as longevity The Remington might be the way to go I just like the Pitbulls functionality better…. After nine months my pitbull still working great! 🤞🏽
Ergonomics wise, the way you held the Pitbull shaver towards the end of the video is how you should hold it while shaving. Still on the fence though as the Remington unit is half the price in UK.
Per Skull Shaver there’s multiple ways to hold the shaver… on the website it self one of the models is holding it by the body in multiple pictures while shaving his head.. thanks for watching!
There’s a shaver on Amazon for $20 that looks exactly like the Remington, I ordered it and I’ll be doing a review to see if it’s better or worse than the Remington.
Been through 2 skullshavers now, and customer service is absolutely shocking! They state 100 percent battery and stop working or just cut off when they reach 45 percent, when they supposed to still have life left! It then ended up completely dying wouldn’t charge so ended up binning it! Wasn’t a bad shaver once it got going but it seems it was very cheaply made! I’m here to see what the Remington is made of as I don’t feel I want to buy another pitbull!
Sorry to hear that! Were you using it wet or dry I just recently started using mine in the shower and I’m wondering if that’s going to have any affect on it?
@@style_45 it’s supposed to be fully waterproof, and you should be able to use in water or wet shave with no problems of it effecting the performance, I used mine dry every time and always had the problem with the battery! I had a Remington for about a week now and so far no problems used it twice, and it’s preforming very well, also never had a lot of neck rashing so the blades seem abit better when you shave close! The Remington also has a lot more body and body solidness and feel to it, where the skull shaver is much more hollow!
All the ones I have tried gave me about the same final result, the convenience, experience and how they get you that final result is what differs…. I found that the pitbull was the one that felt the most comfortable, easiest to clean and most convenient..
While if it’s the first time you’re gonna be shaving your head it’s inevitable.. but in my experience the more you do it the more your head gets used to it and the less potential for ingrown hairs. I still get them once in a while but only on the back of my neck ,I find exfoliating with a loofah helps reduce the frequency of ingrown hairs.
I was just curious if you have to replace the blades, because I have a norelco triple header that supposedly sharpens itself and I have this thing forever and it still does a decent job for as old as it is. but its time to upgrade. thanks for your review, nice job
I haven’t had to replace the blade so far and it’s going on a year of twice a week use…. But I’m sure I will be replacing it soon just for peace of mind. Thanks for watching!
I have a Remington RX-5 (forget my profile pic, these days I shave my head smooth and have a beard!) My experience? Pretty much as you describe, regarding lack of skull contact from all five blades. Definitely works best with gel/foam as a wet shave, but still not razor close. I also have a Panasonic ES-RF31 four blade foil shaver that I use exclusively on my head. Wet shaving is immense with this Panasonic, and I get my head as smooth as with a razor, no problem at all.. Never tried a Pitbull Skull Shaver so can't comment on that product. Happy new year from the UK!
Yes i was a little disappointed in the Remington, the Pitbull does a great job but like i said not razor close so i mostly use it for inbetween razor shaves. Thanks for watching!
Hey thanks for this. I have a Panasonic Arc 5 and was considering the Remington just to try switching from Foil shaver to rotary as I get a lot of razor bumps and irritation. I think I’ll stick to the Panasonic, it takes forever to shave though although I have found that using it wet works best.
@@anonymous4201 ; You're welcome! Panasonic definitely better at the wet shave rather than dry. Since my original comment, if you're still wondering whether to change your electric shaver, I'd strongly consider giving the Babyliss Profoil Titanium a go. It's a twin-foil dry-shave-only (not waterproof) but it's the one a lot of barbers use for skin fades etc. I bought one about 7 months ago and haven't looked back. The motor is hugely powerful and the blades are exceptional. I find it a lot quicker than the faff of wet shaving, whether that's electric or with a traditional blade, and it shaves outrageously close. Timing myself, I consistently find that I can shave my whole head and get the job done, including cleaning the foil and blades, in 20 minutes bang on, and I use it daily. My Remington is largely redundant and I only keep it as a 'back up' but to be honest, my Panasonic has gone the same way too, now. I only ever use the Babyliss these days, it's just superb and I honestly don't think there's anything better. It's heavy, it's a fingerprint magnet too, but it's stellar performance. Unmatched, in my view.
@@garydc1057 thanks for the quick reply. I have looked at the babyliss it’s deffo a pro model that the barbers use but just concerned about whether it will give me razor bumps on my neck as it is dry shaving. Might give it a shot but trying hard not to go down this rabbit hole and start a new expensive obsession haha
@@anonymous4201 ; It's a funny thing with razor bumps. I think we either get them or we don't and I guess I'm lucky, because I don't seem to suffer that fate too much. You're right though, I can imagine it could be a rabbit hole if you're not careful. I only started shaving my head proper last year, about April 2020, and was wet shaving to begin with but was fed up of getting nics and cuts etc, so electric shaving seemed worth investigating. The Panasonic was my first purchase but only because the Remington wasn't available at the time I needed one. The Babyliss came about after seeing rave reviews etc, following a direct nudge in that direction by a barber mate of mine who recommended them. Best purchase in the end, it turns out, and has made the others redundant and I probably should have asked his advice first but hey-ho, we learn by experience. Re; razor bumps - I'm pretty sure there are products available via Boots and even Amazon etc, specifically for reducing razor bumps that seem to work according to those who buy them. Reviews from consumers are so valuable though, as always, so I'd pay attention to them closely if you do choose to look into that. Either way, good luck and glad I could help.
I have a video of the noise it was making…. It was more of a grinding noise and it still cut but after 20 uses I don’t think it should have been making any grinding noise
Lol 👍🏽 unfortunately I still have to buy razors to shave my face but if I had to use the same razor to shave my face and head I’m pretty sure I’ll be going through a lot more razors! Thanks for watching!
You should do an update on these two shavers and see if you were able to get replacements for the bqlder pro because that Pitbull one is nice but the blades have to be replaced every 2 months and that almost $40 a pop every 2 months can get quite expensive, I'm looking to give one of these to my son as a Christmas gift so the jury is still out on which one I want to get so if you can do an update and see how both of them have fared after using both for a while then maybe that can make the decision process a little easier, thanks! Great video!
Update is in the works 👍🏽.. IMO both these head shavers and similar ones are more about functionality then durability.. but yes I will be doing an update thanks for watching!
Skull shaver says every 3 to 6 months but like I said in the video I went over a year before changing mine out, but I did notice a big difference once I did… so I would say every 8 to 10 months you should change it out depending on how often you use it.
I’ve been shaving my head with blades for years. Pit bull only works if you can settle for a non-skin tight shave. Tried wet and dry shaving with gold pro and wasn’t impressed. From a distance looks good 😂.
Yes that is my experience also but I do prefer it to shaving with a traditional razor, because of the ingrown hairs or nicks I get sometimes with that method. But like you said, as far as looks go, it’s great.
Just ordered the Pitbull! Good review. Pitbull's older models had the 5 blade head. They ditched it, for the same reason you didn't like it, (plus it was hard to clean, apparently.
I’m still liking it! It’s been pretty convenient for travel and I find myself shaving my head more. It’s only been a couple of months but hopefully it holds up!
@@ashearer88 Works quite well on those days I'm not prepared to run a blade over my head. Gets a decently close shave, has a good battery life and is just an all around decent shaver. It won't replace my blades, but it's worth the cost!
Are you still using the pitbull shull shaver without problems? I got one and after 3 weeks using it 2 times a week it started having battery issues. Thanks.
On your recommendation, I’m going with the pit bull gold. Also. I wonder if the handling might go better if you position your grip between the base and the razor group?
Man I'm from France, English is not my first language but you explain things in a great way, I liked your video I was the 100th and I subscribed, great music also! Alex
Pitbull Shaver WAS good (I had the pricey gold model) until about 3 months when it stopped charging. Total disappointment because I enjoyed the results and convenience of use. Did get full refund but went back to razors. Searching for a quality head shaver until one is found.
I haven’t had any issues with mine so far.. I think at this point after two years and a couple months, I would replace mines if it ever broke because like you said they are pretty convenient.
@@style_45 2 years and no probs sounds pretty good. I went with the Freedom shaver two weeks ago and so far so good. These shavers aren’t razor sharp close (some expect them to be) but they do the job and are well worth the investment. Hope mine keeps going strong.
@setupman62 I kind of like the fact that it’s not razor close saves me from getting any irritation… Hope the Freedom shaver works out for you.. come back and give us an update!
@@style_45 Update: My Freedom shaver already stopped charging last week lol! I was about to apply for a full refund and just stick to my razors but I am getting a replacement (exchange) delivered in 3 days. If this one fails to last at least as long as yours then I quit. Razors give me no probs except cost and inconvenience.
Great review. Not sure if you have used both but have you tried the pitbull platinum skull shaver? Trying to fond out if there is a big difference between that and the gold in this video, just so I am not paying $100 more for the platinum if it is basically just the same product.
I bought the ball the pro before I heard of the pitbull. After my experiences trying to find replacement blades even on Remington's site, I have to say that I'm disappointed and will probably be selling my slightly used Remington. All I know is that there is a huge market for replacement blades for the Remington Boulder pro and no one is taking advantage of that market! Disappointment to the point of frustration.
Like I said at the end of the video, the Remington isn’t a bad shaver but IMO the Pitbull is a little better... I’m sure if I only had the Remington it would get the job done. Thanks for watching!
When you shaved your head you held the pitbull incorrectly imo. When you reviewed it around 7min 20sec in you held it correctly. Your fingers go between the unit and the head, makes it so much easier to handle, and your using the weight of the shaver to shave, and not ‘pushing’ down on you head when gripping it in your hand, which is why its probably lighter compared to the remington. The pro gets my vote, and yes Ive owned the remington too so can give an honest opinion.
Thanks for the input I get this comment a lot, but some people don’t realize there’s not only one way to hold the pitbull that’s why it has grooves on the side of the body…. Thanks for watching!
you was holding the Pitbull gold wrong, if you put your fingers between the main body and where the rubber head casing is you can get a far better feel of it going over your head and a lot more comfortable as well.
@@style_45 It's the 6948xl. On Amazon, it's $200 but I don't know why. I bought mine from Meijer years ago for $40. It works super good though but I don't know about $200. Wow!
Both cut hair about the same length, so to me it’s a matter of comfort. In my opinion the Pitbull 4 blade cartridge feels more comfortable…. But you can’t go wrong with either! Do you have SMP?
@@style_45 Yes, I have it done; but currently I am using Andis T outliner zero gapped, but it is not enough, it does not leave the hair as short as I would like. That's why I'll give one of these two a chance. Thanks for the video!
You can also use the replacement blades for the Pitbull on the Skull shaver Palm, but I think the Palm has a lower battery capacity and it doesn’t come with the battery percentage indicator which I find helpful.
@@style_45 I have the pitbull gold and the palm with the same blades, the forte 4's. I think the pitbull gold might have a slightly stronger motor but battery times are about the same. The indicator on the gold is a nice feature I suppose. Honestly its not a huge difference in performance. I go back and forth between the two and it seems the gold does a bit better but both get the job done fairly well.
@@notchy12000 Never seen this comment til now but I dont think the blades will work on a reminington, pretty sure the way they connect to the shaver is unique.
My Pitbull Pro Gold lasted 15 months of bi-weekly shaving... The warranty is only 12 months, not 3 years, unless you drop another $40-50 for an extra ONE year warranty. So, yeah... I got all of 30ish or so shaves out of mine before the motor took a crap, lol.
@@style_45 haha.. And I believe it is/was the newest model. I bought it May 2020 (received it June 2020) directly from skull shaver. Shaved with it about 30 times for around 2 min or less.. now I hit the button and the little piece that connects to the blade spins for a split second and stops, lol :-/
I've been using the RX5 for a year now and it has been good. I have used it with shaving foam or shower gel and haven't had any issue with tugging. It does a good job but I stood on it recently and damaged it. I came here to see if I could be convinced to buy a Skull Shaver or just another RX5. @Style45 - A year and a half on, do you still feel the same way about both shavers?
Yes and I still use both but I enjoy using the Pitbull more and it has to do with the blades themselves the 4 head cartridge has more pivot points and thus feels more comfortable to use. The pitbull used to come with the exact same five blade shaving head as the RX 5 and I purchased it out of curiosity and they felt about the same.
That’s not how you’re supposed to hold the skull shaver. If held appropriately, (like you did toward the end of the video) I think it’s more ergonomic. But good comparison regardless.
When you go to the website to pick one up check out the part where they state there is multiple ways to hold it, that’s what the grooves on the side of the body are for my guy!🤨
Just wanted ask gently, Did you only shave your hair holding the shaver by top instead of where the model has the finger molds because you held it the way I hold mine when you mentioned that you choose the Pitbull or the Remington. And it feels and works amazing that way than holding it from the top.
Yes I’ve used it both ways but there’s certain areas where holding it by the finger mold felt awkward like around the ears and sideburns , the Remington felt better in the palm but I still think the Pitbull is a better device! Thanks for watching.
This is a wild coincidence but.. 1. My name is also Tony 2. I am also a baldy 3. I have owned both of these shavers 4. I also have a RUclips channel (another account) on which I use this exact intro music Good luck to you!
What I said is the Remington feels better in the hand… there isn’t only one way to use the Pitbull so I don’t understand what you mean by using it correctly. Thanks for watching !
@@style_45 I know there isnt only one way to hold it, technically you can hand hold it with your toes lol but there is a better way to hold it, since I own this shaver, and that is with the two fingers from the middle like you did at the end. So it would make that statement irrelevant lol and the comment about the warranty and customer service didnt make sense either. I just felt you were looking for cons. But thanks for putting the video up.
I just purchased the RX5 and it seems to cut okay, but feels rough on my head. Does the Pitbull feel much better? How do they compare as far as closeness? I'm thinking about returning the Remington.
As far as closeness goes, they both pretty much get your hair down to the same length… The pitbull feels much better to me, and that was a surprise, because it only has four blades on the cartridge as opposed to five on the Remington.
@@style_45 Thanks. I think I'll try the Pitbull or maybe Headblade Moto. I've been using Gillette Skin Guard and it gets close but takes too much time.
good review , detailed and informative, thank you. I got the same thing as well for christmas just last week . Unfortunitly your correct about it, doesnt get razer smooth though it does real good. i am for the most part happy with it just wish it worked a bit better than what they claim, it is a bit pricey for what it is too. best time to buy is cyber monday though.
Awesome and honest review. For a second I thought the Pitbull is not going to be worth it. But thank goodness you bring the positive sides + I order mines yesterday and hoping is true on what you said
Yeah it’s a good device, just don’t expect a razor smooth shave.... and it is better then the Remington! Let me know what you think when you finally get to use it! Thanks for watching !
The Pitbull is more often then not on sale for $89 dollars… have you tried both?

Yes I didn’t think about doing a wet shave for the video but recently one of the channel subscribers suggested I try it so I did and it was great... I too shave about 3x/week and the Pitbull is such a time saver IMO . Thanks for watching!
Yeah it is better when the hair is a little longer. Thanks for watching!

How close to razor close is it?
Yes it is!.. I like the fact that I can use it anywhere and not have hair everywhere!
Thanks for the honest review. I actually have a Pitbull Gold Pro on its way to me right now. Glad to know I made a good choice.
Yes it’s definitely better then the Remington ... Thanks for watching!
He first one I received worked about 2 minutes after charging it! I sent it back and and received a new one. It would not charge or work at all! The shaver was crap, but customer service was easy to work with and fast to act.
Thanks for sharing! I was debating whether to go with the Remington or the Pitbull. This video makes the devision making easier!
Glad to help… thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
is the RX5 still good after 1 year of use ?
@@tHeFaNcYpOp still good after 18 months and still using original cutting head, after using I tend to go shorter using a headblade
I bought one of these today based on your review, I told the company to look at sponsoring you, you'd be a good promoter.

Glad to help David…. Thanks for watching!
👍🏽
I have the putnull for 4 months. Use it every day with no issues
👍🏽 I’ve had mine about 2yrs .I use it dry and in the shower and haven’t had any issues😎
Wow sorry to hear that.. mines is still working, but maybe thats due to the fact that I don’t use it as often as I do the Pitbull.
@@style_45 would still think it should last longer than a couple of weeks, and only using it twice a week in that time , bad batch? Maybe as was purchased from same retailer, but regardless I wasn't going for third time lucky. Pitbull gold pro now ordered.
Hope you like it… in my opinion, it gives you a more comfortable shave then the Remington.
Here in Canada the pitbull gold is about $200 and the Remington is $89..
I was in the fence but was sold by your video. Excellent analysis and review
Glad the video helped you out... it’s been a few months and I’m still happy with it. Thanks for watching !
@@style_45 great to hear. Gonna subscribe i gotta check out what other stuff you review 👌
Glad I could help and thanks for watching!
Excellent review and helped me decide which brand to go with (Pitbull). I've been razor shaving my head for the past 25 years and am just tired of it. LOL!!
Glad I could help! One thing for sure it’s a lot quicker then razor shaving...just not as close! Thanks for watching!
Damn that’s not what I want to hear. The pitbull is so expensive. But my hair is quite thick too. Thick enough that it can give me a sliver.

@@jdsykes9125 lmao. I ended up getting the Philips 5000. On sale it’s about a third the price of the pitbull. So far I like it and it works really well. Not to mention Philips quality..
Good analysis, very honest evaluation, and no BS. Much obliged. I just subscribed, and thank you.🤠
Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for subscribing! 👍🏽
A little confused about the Remington. In another video, someone showed the all of the heads flexing inward when the center one was pressed. I realize this is several years ago, but did your unit not do this? Doesnt seem like it did when you showed the close up. So I'm guessing they fixed this?
Yes it does flex in but unlike the Pitbull, it doesn’t contour to the head.
Good information! Thanx for your video, and the issue about the blades very helpful, you did your research’s . Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Nice comparison. Is one noticeably faster to use than the other?
No they’re pretty much the same when it comes to speed.
Ordered my pitbull shaver 4 months ago. It's now broken 💔
Customer service is terrible
Sorry to hear that…. Is it a battery issue?
This is exactly why I'm leaning toward the Remington. I'm reading horror stories about the Pitbull's durability.
Excellent review. Thank you.
👍🏽
What one gives you closer shave
All the ones I have tried gave me about the same final result, the convenience, experience and how they get you that final result is what differs…. I found that the pitbull was the one that felt the most comfortable, easiest to clean and most convenient..
@@style_45 i got one pitbull for my self. Quite happy with it so far been using it for about 4 weeks
I'm a black dude I just bought the Remington balder pro. I'm horribly afraid of ingrown hairs on my dome
The balder pro replacement blades are going to be available available around the end of 2021
I was just curious if you have to replace the blades, because I have a norelco triple header that supposedly sharpens itself and I have this thing forever and it still does a decent job for as old as it is. but its time to upgrade.
thanks for your review, nice job
I haven’t had to replace the blade so far and it’s going on a year of twice a week use…. But I’m sure I will be replacing it soon just for peace of mind. Thanks for watching!
I have a Remington RX-5 (forget my profile pic, these days I shave my head smooth and have a beard!)
My experience?
I got the pitbull silver last week. I love it.
That’s good to hear and thanks for watching!
I’ve just got the skull shaver, ❤ perfect cut the closest cut, the rem I’ll NEVER buy again I bought 5 (FIVE) in a row each time they stopped working
My Remington stopped working after about 20 uses'
@@style_45 was it making a clicking sound and not engaging the blades ?
I have a video of the noise it was making…. It was more of a grinding noise and it still cut but after 20 uses I don’t think it should have been making any grinding noise

I’d recommend the Skull Shaver Pitbull being that I think it’s the most comfortable to use and I’ve had no issues with it.

U have any experience with babyliss fx2 or andis?
No i don't but i do want to try a Andis foil shaver. Thanks for watching!
Hey bro how long do you need to wait before replacing Blade for Pitbull?
I guess I have some hella coarse hair because I tried both and they couldn’t shave close at all.
😂… they don’t get as close as a razor but they do get closer then clippers in my experience.
Just ordered the Pitbull! Good review. Pitbull's older models had the 5 blade head. They ditched it, for the same reason you didn't like it, (plus it was hard to clean, apparently.

I think both shavers have this issue if the hair is too long but I notice this issue more on the Remington.
@@style_45 I don’t think, because i shaving every second day, and one week i did not have problem...
Yeah I do use it like that for the top and back of my head but IMO it feels awkward trying to do the sides and around the ears... Thanks for watching!

Pro tip. Get the Palm and buy the Forte 4 Pro blades. Cheaper than the Pitbull with identical performance.
@criptin are you saying that the Forte 4 Pro blade fits the Remington Palm ? I thought I read the Forte 4 Pro is made for the Pitbull.
Love my pitbull pro gold.
👍🏽..thanks for watching!
That’s not how you’re supposed to hold the skull shaver. If held appropriately, (like you did toward the end of the video) I think it’s more ergonomic. But good comparison regardless.
There is not only one way to hold the Pitbull check the website!
So where did get that cool shirt from. Can you provide a link?
I got it at The Gap for $8 dollars....never underestimate the clearance rack! lol
You borrow your little brothers shirt for this one?
Is that all you got out of the video?…
@@style_45 no. I probably going to pick up one of those pit bull pros. I think you holding it wrong my guy.
When you go to the website to pick one up check out the part where they state there is multiple ways to hold it, that’s what the grooves on the side of the body are for my guy!🤨
I owned the pitbull gold for one year ,but the battery is not working any more . Pitbull ? No bullshit 😒
How long ago did you buy it?
@@style_45 just about one year 😕
How much did they pay you
🙄 really!?!?
Just wanted ask gently, Did you only shave your hair holding the shaver by top instead of where the model has the finger molds because you held it the way I hold mine when you mentioned that you choose the Pitbull or the Remington. And it feels and works amazing that way than holding it from the top.
Yes I’ve used it both ways but there’s certain areas where holding it by the finger mold felt awkward like around the ears and sideburns , the Remington felt better in the palm but I still think the Pitbull is a better device! Thanks for watching.
Great review and thanks for the clarification.
I am a female hair victim? the biggest problem with the pitbull I would have is the $100 dollar price, but your review was helpfull anyway!
Yeah it is kind of pricey but so far it’s been working great... once in a while I see it go on sale .. Thanks for watching !
This is a wild coincidence but..
1. My name is also Tony
2. I am also a baldy
3. I have owned both of these shavers
4. I also have a RUclips channel (another account) on which I use this exact intro music
Good luck to you!
Lol 👍🏽 thanks for watching and good luck with your channel !
You complaint about the handle of the Pitbull that it didnt feel right but at the end you hold it correctly lol
Even using the two fingers method I still felt the Remington felt better in the hand… sorry for the confusion! Thanks for watching!
Yes it works pretty good and it helps for those in between days of using a razor.. Thanks for watching!
@@style_45 yea i did have to use a straight edge as well and i use the pitbull wet too that helps a lot . thank you and Yw
How much they pay you for promoting skullshaver
I think if they paid me they would want their money back!!! Lol
Nice Shirt Ma man. who makes it?
Lol Thanks! Never under estimate the sales rack at the Gap… $8 bucks! 👍🏽
He works for Pitbull
After this video I got fired! Lol 😏 Thanks for watching !
great review man
Thanks glad you enjoyed it!👍🏼
