We put it through it's paces and give you all the info you need to make an informed buying decision.
We show the acceleration, braking and handling, and give you all the information and specifications as well as our personal take on what the bike is like.
As always, we mix presenting and riding clips, all beautifully filmed and professionally edited.
Check out our new merchandise at teespring.com/... We have some really cool NEW t-shirts!
Father and son team, talk about and ride this fabulous street bike from Honda. This bike has the standard exhaust pipe, but Darcy would like it even more with the Akrapovic exhaust.
Check out the Old Man's new helmet too; kindly donated by Bell Helmets! The Bell 2020 Street Qualifier DLX MIPS Breadwinner Black/White. Review coming soon!
Don't forget to watch all the way through and check out all the specs at the end!
As always brilliant review very detailed by real bikers best on you tube
Thanks Glenn 👊🏼 Much appreciated.
Excellent review as always! Good to see Gandalf leaving the fellowship to pump iron and review bikes!
Antony jose george 92 Thanks Ant 👊🏼
I just bought one last week, I'm 65 - love it,. Surprised how quick it is and I'm an ex-racer.
I'm 37 and new to bikes. just got the 125 version of this and love it! this is gonna be my first big bike purchase. thanks guys love the honesty and the great vids!
finaly a tall biker, testing bikes. Thanks mate for the content !
Thanks bro. Yes everything is perfect for the 5’7 guys
It’s nice, I’m 6’5 so I’m kind of limited 😫 and seeing someone not to far off from my height ride this helps
@@toofastnobrakes Thanks bro. We always mention this issue in our reviews to help the taller people
So true! This is a very well made bike. I bought one last year and after 29000km I love it more and more. I'm 55 and been riding since I was 18 and suits me like a glove. And I like that there's no analog speedo!
I used to be a cruiser guy too but naked sports are so much more fun!
That's great to hear! Ride safe!
I just bought this in Denim Blue in Thailand. 1000km first weekend and now due for it's service. Beautiful bike to ride and look at.
Awesome! Great to hear 👍🏼👍🏼
I've had mine for nearly 2 years. I love it, but now it's time to move on to the CB1000R. Very thorough review as usual. Thanks a million boys. Stay safe
I’ve been keeping an eye on this bike via reviews and videos and as many have said previously really loved the review. You guys smashed every question I could think of and seeing the two of you both on the bike (proportion wise) just spot on.
Another subscriber!!!
Thanks buddy. Welcome aboard 👍🏼👍🏼
Great review, love the fact that you show what the bike looks like with someone sitting on it, really helps with understanding the proportions etc, wish more reviewers did this and not just pov footage!
Thanks buddy, that was one of the things we wanted to bring to the channel when we started. We from a viewers perspective were fed up with watching pov videos!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Glad we agree haha, always look forward to your reviews for this reason!
Absolutey agreed!
Hey bud, how did your dad fare with it with his height? I'm 6ft 3 and about 16 stone but not as bulky as your dad, I'm just worried about looking a bit daft on it, was he comfortable on long rides?
A bike for the young? Ho, ho! I have one of these awesome bikes. I bought it when I was 61. Now 63, and still enjoying it. Also, upper 60s mpg, one of the bikes many good points.
Nice little review that, you captured exactly what sold me on this bike and why I bought mine in 2019. Cheers! Dan
Ahh that's great - thank you
The quality of your videos and reviews is outstanding! and thank you for not putting music when you speak!
Ilia Notin That’s very nice of you to say; thank you! Please subscribe if you haven’t already because there’s some awesome bikes coming up!
Hi guys, brilliant video. I'm really loving going through your back catalogue of reviews atm. The only thing i can say is that you guys only focus on the positives in the majority of reviews. For a balanced and fair review you must give more negatives. If you are struggling compare against other bikes, how customisable are the bikes, can you change positions of controls, can 2 people fit on it etc etc. Great channel again thank you!
Jon Harris Thanks Jon’ Much appreciated. 👍🏼 Points noted 👍
You really don't need anything anything bigger than this for a naked road bike, great review. I should be looking at something like the NC750 at my age but I guess there is still a bit of hooligan in me yet as this is tempting. I would almost trade in my 1200 bandit for one.
Yes it’s certainly fast enough. I have hooligan moments but try not to now!
Totally enjoyed your review - I brought one in black at the beginning of August and it's about to have the first service. It delivers everything I wanted and looked for. I ride it wearing my Halcyon goggles purchased after watching your review on them some time ago - thank you!
That’s great! What do you think of my new lid?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Bell helmets are iconic and the design/colour scheme of yours look just fine, my open face is the Shoei J-O hawker as I've allway's found Shoei fit me best
Mark Bevan Yes thats good. I haven’t had a Bell for years and it fits me perfectly. Very good at speed too, much better than I’m used to.
Great review as always. I have the CBR faired version of this and think it’s all the bike I’ll ever need. As a short bloke 5’6, the seat height and narrow body is ideal too meaning I can get most of both feet down. Brakes probably the most impressive I’ve ever tried. Legendary Honda reliability. Up there with litre bikes due to agility on everything except the track. Standard exhaust sounds great. Hope to see more of them on the road!
G Honda Thanks buddy ! Yes it’s a great bike! You must love it 👊🏼
I was a little on concerned about him riding on the wrong side of the road... but then I realized there are other places outside the states lol
Royal Street 4806 haha yes it must seem odd 👍🏼
Nice review! I tried the predecessor a couple of years ago and unfortunately crashed it due to an oil spill mid corner, that kind of bummed it out for me even though it was not the bike's fault. But I like the looks of this newer Neo Sports Cafe version and I think I'll take it for a test ride just to compare it with the older model.
But seriously, the "ol' man" looks like the kind of guy I wouldn't wanna mess with in a bar. It's difficult enough for me (age 39) to stay in shape, but I reckon you're a "little" older than me, so respect for your shape, bro!
Keep going, I like your reviews, good teamwork and I think it's very cool that you review all sorts of bikes and give every one of them a fair personal evaluation instead of simply saying "this one is better because it has a bigger engine and more hp" as so many other vloggers do these days... Biking is a personal (maybe even spiritual?) thing and everybody has their own preferences and reasons to ride in the first place, so I think no bike is "bad" just because "reasons". I like it that you give every bike a fair chance to shine and don't dismiss a little 125cc bike just because of engine size for example, so hats off for that!
moier3345 Thanks for your comments bro 👍🏼 Unlucky with the oil slick 😬 I’ve (Ol Man) been pumping iron for 30 years so I guess it’s paying off.
Hello from Canada. Appreciate how you talk about riders height. I’m 6’3” and very interested in this bike, so good to see how you fellas fit on it. Your videos are great, very informative.
Thanks buddy 💯
I haven't had a 4 cylinder bike for years but the sound reminded me of, the cbx550 I rode out to Israel a long time ago ago. Nice review.
Awesome! Thanks buddy
The ol' man is an absolute unit. Damn.
Another cracking review. I do like the look of the Honda CB range. Nearly at 10k subs, rooting for you guys! 👍
R. D. Thanks RD! We’re getting there with the subs. The bike was way better than we anticipated 👍🏼
Soooo... You talked me in to buying the 300ccm version. The 650 will be the death of me. Thx for the spectacular revieuw, really enjoyed it.
winteronice ahhh at least we didn’t put you off buying a Honda! The 300 will be great! The 650 is much faster than a lot of people realise, although only when you rev it
Great review! Have owned mine for over a year now and think it's a great bike.
Keep up the good work.
Trev 👍
Thanks Trev! Awesome! I bet you love it 👍🏼
Nice to see a father and son review channel. I've really enjoyed your reviews
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
Mr Darcy, I am 58 years ancient, from what you say, and that Honda CB650R and us old boys, on a budget would seriously look at buying this smooth 4 knowing it has Honda reliability, upright riding position and that Neo Cafe racer look.
Mr Darcy is the young one and the ol man is the father just if there was any confusion, and yes it’s a great bike awesome looks. Can’t go wrong with Honda for reliability
So since it's so naked the wind buffeting is a significant consideration in my opinion.
@@rcronin1 yes that’s certainly true
I always loved that jackel and mr hyde nature on my fz6n. Keep it low and its smooth as silk, but pop it over 10k and feel your sphincter clench. Not to forget the inline 4 symphony.
Yes we get that 👊🏼
I've had fingers crossed you guys would review this bike 👌 Always deliver you guys well done
Kieran Hopkinson No problem Kieran. Is this a bike you fancy?
It's one that's persuading me to get my licence
Kieran Hopkinson OK right. Great thing it has an A2 map which you can reset to standard once you get your A license.
Do the tee shirts come with the biceps or nah? 💪 💪 haha good video! Nice bike too
jsj297 haha yes maybe 💪🏻 thanks 👊🏼
Another awesome review! I think this is one of the best looking and coolest bikes out there. This may be my next bike. Keep it up guys!
Thanks a ton!
Great review guys 👍🏻
Just collected mine today and loving it 😎
Awesome thanks 👍🏼👍🏼
Ditto,,pearl smoky grey,,fantastic bike,
Thank you for the review.. Specially to the riding position of 6’ ft height and now I saw it.. So it is absolutely nice.....! Ride safe guys.. 🙏💪!
No problem bro! Thanks 👊🏼
I can't get enough of mine 3 years later
Wow great! 👍🏼
Thats great
Nice review, thanks- would be nice to see a comparison video with triumph trident when it comes out in late January.
We should have a review of the trident coming when we get our hands on it. We may be able to compare slightly but this is difficult when we don’t have both bikes back to back
Excellent review! I confirm: A hell of a bike!!
Thanks Jean 💯👍🏼
Great review 👍
I like how you give it some beans... Proper review 👍
Scottys Adventures Thanks Scotty 💪🏻
I love the review.
You guys rock!
Great! Thank you!
Awesome review guys love the bike cheers chaps 👌🏻
claretbuck1882 thanks for that 💯
Santa Claus on steroids 💉😂
12 34 So I can lift more presents! We’re so overpopulated these days
Every time i seek a review of a specific bike i am interested in, i find Mr. Darcy. I like Mr. Darcy's reviews. Ooh that seems almost as fast acceleration as my Ducati Night Shift (that thing moves!).. I want one! I mean I am going to buy one
Thanks for another very nice review of an attractive small bike! You say that this bike is not for your age; but what is your age? I am 65 and I wouldn't dare own one of these. I probably couldn't resist the temptation of driving it hard.
Thanks bro. I'm 54 and whilst its a great fun bike and perfectly nice to ride, it's aimed firmly at the younger market (by Honda). That's why I choose to ride a cruiser (Harley) so I'm not tempted to thrash it about
Great review, I'm not into Japanese bikes these days but this is very tempting!
Thanks buddy. It’s a screamer!
It should be Mr. Darcy and the Young Man
Nice review lads! I am the proud owner of one myself since two weeks. Greetings from Holland 😊
You guys are amazing. Who is Mr. Darcy? I think i know who the old man is :) Great video you should have at least 1000000 subscribers.
hestehest Thanks very much 👍🏼 Help us get there by sharing the video’s. Appreciate your support buddy 👊🏼
I agree they will get there 👍
Jo Jo thanks JoJo, fingers crossed 🤞
Awesome review of an awesome bike your review is very well organised keep it up.
Oh ya the bearded dude is in great shape. Maybe a big cb1000 suits him for his size
RUBBER N METAL Thanks very much! 👍🏼 💪🏻
I think my old B-King would have been just the job for him.
1990 oh yea the BKing is like the Ronnie Coleman of bikes.
Agree with the comments. He could say the engine runs on orange juice and with that beard I would believe it 😁
It actually runs on apple juice
Great review looking to get one and I’m old love the beard
Thanks buddy! 👍🏼👍🏼
Sir you look like a Viking man ready for a fight
Thanks buddy 💪🏻
Nice-looking bike, and inline fours are far more tractable than they used to be, even a mid-size one like this, as you explain. I prefer twins, although the CB1000R is very tempting. However, I sold my B-King because it frightened me. I'd prefer an XSR900 to the CB650R.
1990 Ive just reviewed the 180bhp KTM Super Duke R! That is mental!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I'll watch it. Too much for me. I may buy the 390, though. Haha! Actually, I'm being serious.
1990 180 bhp is just too much for the road really
Vibration free? My 2023 model vibrations are there from 5krpm- mirrors are basically useless at that point… but very nice bike
Another cracking review as always thanks gentlemen
Thanks buddy! 👍🏼👍🏼
Great review. Thanks for posting
Thanks buddy 👍🏼
You got me, I'm going to buy one.
Great review on this bike, sounds good! also love your t shirts 👍
Jo Jo Thanks 👊🏼 Yes the bike and merch are great 😇
Bang on .. very precise review 👍
Mohammed Irfan Thanks Mohammed 👍🏼
I love your reviews
Thanks mate 👍🏼👍🏼
just bought one, going from a 67 plate mt07!
Awesome 💯👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan figured i may as well ask, any absolutely essential mods required? not going to change tail tidy or exhaust etc yet im thinking more things rider comfort like adjustable levers etc? thanks
@lockyuk Ik your comment is old but im looking at this or an mt07 as an A2 bike, which one did you prefer?
@@taylorpreston8502 the mt07 build quality is shocking in comparison as is the suspension and the power, the cb650r is much, much better in literally every way, I loved the cb650r that much I now have a cb1000r, I had a mt07 for about 3.5 years and the cb650r about 2, hope this helps
I didn't know Zeus was a moto guy. Nice
Yes he's very adaptive to the new technology
Nice one. Would you go for this or the Cb1100 if you had to pick one? ?
Personally the cb1100r because its bigger and more classic. The 650 is a little screamer and great fun but not really for plus 6foot people
Smashing review.
Twistie Slayer thanks Twistie 👊🏼
Beautiful review of my motorcycle
Thanks buddy 💯
Mr Darcy, your father is correct; us old boys would prefer old analogue rev counters.
Yes I thought that was the case lol, tbh I like analogue Rev counters too but I don’t mind either
Just come across this channel. Will go through the old vids.
Just curious. What camera are you using, the video with the boko effect looks great. 👍🏻
Chris Hanlon How have you missed us! Thanks buddy. Sony A7iii
@@MrDarcy-OlMan phaha I really have no clue, thought I knew every UK bike youtuber.
I'm living in sth East Asia at the moment and am just about to pull the trigger on the CB650R, SV650 or MT 07. Searched for CB reviews and up you popped 🤣.
Anyway, keep the content coming..SUB'D👍🏻
Chris Hanlon Excellent! Thanks for the sub. Lot’s more to come!
Great Review!!!
Thanks Danny 👍🏼
thank you guy's good review
I am going to pick up this beauty next few weeksx just a simple question is high beam wide enough for countryroad?
Man Yuen Excellent! I’d say it’s pretty good 👍🏼
Nice review, gents. Would this be a bike for panniers and touring?
Thanks buddy. No I don’t think so. More short racy stuff
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Nice one, thank you 👍
Excellent review!
Thank you kindly!
Great review, guys.. subscribed ☝️ one question, i have seen your video also of benelli leoncino.. what bike is bigger? this honda cb650r or italian lion? keep doing a great job.
Thanks buddy! Welcome aboard. They are both about the same but the Benelli has a bit more room to stretch out in the seat and higher bars
@@MrDarcy-OlMan thank you for your answer. i also see that you have done some reviews of Indian motorcycles. It would be great to see what you guys think of FTR1200.
@@dragannikolic6488 thanks bud. That’s next on the Indian list!
Ol man is so big he makes the bikes look small
Colin Duncan Most bikes are made for the average which is 5’10 and 12 stone unfortunately

A2 licence map? Isnt that what the 500 is for?
Yes but it gives you even more choice
Good review
Hades Heat Thanks Hades 👊🏼
Hi would you say this is more worthwhile upgrade than an MT07? Coming from a CB500f cheers!
They’re both really similar but the Honda is more potent if you want to ride at high rpm. I’d testride both before deciding if I was you.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Thank you will do ASAP cheers! 👍👍👍
The Honda has better build quality and fit and finish. But cost more. I love mine
@@rcronin1 Hi I was actually about to part exchange for CB650r but hearing the updated Euro 5 is on the way, I'll probably hang on to it. Glad you love yours! ☺️
@@rcronin1 the Honda is fabulous 👍🏼
Awesome review as always, gents. Do y'all by any chance know if it's possible to put an A2 map on the bike outside of the UK? I'm in the states and would love to get this as my first bike as something to hold onto for years and years to come, but in my humble opinion, 94 HP is a little too much for what I feel comfortable starting out with.
Thanks John! Yes I would say so. It’s mainly an ECU retune as far as we know
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Thanks! I'll look into that then, see what I can find.
Super Review , thanks for that

Fantastic! Thanks buddy
Another great review...I miss analog meters... like ur old man.
Thanks buddy ! Yes they’re so so much better! The bike we reviewed today has one 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan yeah I saw ur Royal Enfield review ...love that classic look,
Great review! He can't see because he's old hahahaha, hey whippersnapper I'm in the same category! I've just got one and it really is a great little bike, the engine always sounds busy but it can do everything, I came down from a KTM 1190 because I'm old, (blind) and wanted a lighter machine. Keep on the good work.
Haha well done 💯👍
We need a direct comparison with the Trident. Which bike is better for which kind of rider/use-case?
We can’t get them both together at the same time. It’s hard enough getting any bikes at the moment! 👍🏼👍🏼
Cracking Review chaps, will be doing the DAS next year and torn between the cb650r and cbr650r as the first big bike, which out of the two would you recommend?
I imagine the cb650r will be more comfortable for the longer journeys
We haven’t ridden the cbr650r but the fairing would definitely make the riding at speed more comfortable and easy. Otherwise comfort wise probably about the same, I wouldn’t call any sports bike comfortable because you’re leaning forwards with your neck cranked up to see.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan is it a similar seating position for the CB650r?
@@AJBAdventures The cbr650r is has a bit more of a racy lean forward position
I’m still deciding on which one to get, the 650 or the 1000
👍🏼🤔
Well I ended up getting a 1200 sportster has a Vance n Hines short shots
Sounds awesome
@@billlaughlin8153 that’s great 💯
I will pick this cb 650r as my first bike
Should i?
It would be perfectly OK. It’s only mental when you give it stick
You guys are great 😁
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
MPORTANT QUESTION FOR YOU: Just rode the CB1000R and loved it except for one huge flaw: Turn the handlebars a few degrees and all of the sudden it ''falls off the table", dives, it's like a GIANT hand reaches and hard pullls your damm wheel!! I suspect the CB650 is the same as it doesn't have a damper either. Please, please, please, tell me that it "doesn't" pull this crap!!
That’s the side effect of a steep rake and short trail (one of the reasons we prefer cruisers). All about sharp turning but makes for a sketchy ride
@@MrDarcy-OlMan a simple damper like the GS bikes have would fix it. Cheap too.
Frame is not a stress member. It is on, say an MT 07
Can't see the revs cos he's old 🤣
Another great review. I'm riding one at the moment for my bike licence training, and at 6 foot 2, I'm struggling to ride more than an hour without a numb bum.
How do you guys get on after an hours ride ? Is it because I'm new to riding or the bike is too small?
It's not the best for long rides. Short and fast ones OK
I've had this bike for a while now and on 4,000 miles I' m not getting a numb bum any more. The difference may be that now it's summer I'm riding in single layer jeans?
Always knew Santa was real!
Don’t tell everyone 🤫
Beautiful bike !!
Whats your thoughts on this bike against the triumph trident 660
We haven’t ridden the Trident yet. We should very soon though.
Any update please
Hello, thank you for your channel. I love your content. I have a question which would be the better highway commuter ( 60 mile round trip) the Cb650r or the triumph street twin 900 both 2019? thank you.

@@nataliaalianovnaromanova9213 Im not saying this is the case. BUT i tend to notice alot of British reviewers prefer the Triumph as its a British brand. I personally think they WANT to like the Triumph more even though they both have their pro's and cons over eachother.
