  • Ohio doesn't usually come to mind when you think of grand vistas, long hiking trails or dramatic bluffs. Highbanks provides a great place for all people as one of the best spots in Columbus, Ohio and the Midwest for a casual day hiking. The Bald Eagles, shallow river and natural play and bushcraft area is a tremendously fun resource.

This park is 15 - 20 minuets from my home in Dublin Ohio. It's my favorite park next to Quarry Trails Metro Park in Columbus. My kids had many birthday parties and just days filled with adventure at Highbanks while growing up here. They are now both adults and we all love and appreciate this beautiful park and still visit every chance we get. Thank you for this gorgeous footage of this beautiful space that my family and I have made so many great memories in. Cheers!

I often wondered if you guys were "Buckeyes" when I viewed your early videos (love them all!). I graduated from high school just south of Columbus. Thank you for this video. Highbanks Metro Park didn't exist when I joined the Air Force in 1965. I began my hiking and backpacking at age 10 and the Olentangy and Scioto Rivers were my playgrounds MY favorite camping areas were in the Hocking Hills (Old Man's Cave) country and water skiing at White Lake. Your photography and communication skills are what I love best about your videos.

I'm glad you guys made this video. Some people think that you have to travel far from the city or out of your state to go and see all this natural beauty when in reality, it exists in your backyard. It's hard to believe, but almost every region has a unique ecosystem that has flora and fauna unlike any other. You don't always have to travel to the mountains or remote wildernesses to experience nature, and that's a great message that people need to hear. You got to help preserve not only the wilderness, but the urban parks as well.

The quality of both your content and the beautiful shots of nature is outstanding! As a 41 year veteran science teacher, I've seen lots of videos, and I can assure you that this is as good as any I have used!

Marvelous movie. Adventure Archives taught me one big but simple lesson:
    Appreciate your own backyard.
When you visited my home town Kaiserslautern and the surrounding Palatinate Forest last summer, you where so mesmerized by all of this. I got to see my own backyard through the eyes of strangers. This made me recognize the beauty of this landscape that was somewhat ordinary and boring to me. This movie is yet an other example of this. Beauty is so close, but may be overlooked because you have seen it so often or you can't think of something so beautiful being so close. But when you open your eyes and mind you will be mesmerized.

Love this vid. This is my favorite kind. I have books like backroads of Texas and Kentucky. The adventure of places that are off the beaten path, or at least not known to everybody in the world draws me in a big way. Also your vids of state and city parks are about noticing and appreciating what you have right in your own backyard. It’s really awesome. Where I used to live in Dallas, there was a place called the Heard museum and Nature Preserve that was a private park created by a lady whose family had owned it since the 1800s. She loved nature and wanted to share all that she loved about her land with others. It was such a cool place and this vid reminded me of it. There were these huge burr oak trees there, and wetlands and rocks and hills to climb. Actually there were a bunch of awesome nature preseverves and parks right in the city. Vids like this make me homesick for my favorite places there. That’s the only down side.

Awesome. I love these shorter episodes showcasing smaller parks in local areas. That is something I would like to do for my area. Lots of forests in my city alone... main reason why London's nickname is the forest city. Robby passed 4 different parks/trails when he came to my place and I am just a short drive off the highway. Thanks for the inspiration guy. Hopefully one day I can share my nature with you😁

I honestly love Ohio's nature. It's not the best of course, but it's still really charming in its own right. Between the national park and other metro parks in the northeast and Appalachia in the southeast, there's a ton to see! I still think Mill Creek Park in Youngstown for example is one of the best places to hike
