    Red River Gorge Geological Area, in Daniel Boone National Forest, Kentucky - many of you have recommended this popular rock climbing mecca to us, and we went! Filled with rock shelters hanging over rough trails, incredible views of rocky cliffs, and wonderful flora, this was definitely a fantastic camping trip.

    "Interested people are interesting." So very true. Everyone loves people who have passion. Even if it's in something they aren't passionate about. It sparks curiosity, diversity, and our love with human nature. We are all wired ever so differently but we all can connect with love. Awesome video. Can't like this enough.

    I have watched every one of your masterpiece videos at least twice. I amazed how these videos are not getting the millions of more hits that they deserve. The hard work and effort needed to capture those scenes with the awesome background music is worthy of being on the Discovery Channel. Everytime I watch these videos I feel as though I am right there with you guys but thankfully don't have to be recording . I want to thank you Andrew, Bryan, and Robby for your hard work and sharing this priceless footage with everyone. As always I cannot wait until your next adventure!

      Yes, thanks guys! You're helping people like me who can't get out as much to see these beautiful places and I feel like I'm getting acquainted with you too! I like that you stop and give little informative tidbits about the flora and fauna and geology that you notice, and the comments about how it feels to be there.

    I love the passion for the plants and fungi. I graduated from Hocking College's wildlife resources management program and I know I annoy my hiking pals with unsolicited plant and animal information. I live in Heath and work at the Columbus Zoo so it is really cool to see you guys doing local vids on Zaleski, Wayne and Shale Hollow. Your videos are well put together. I don't usually watch hiking vids this long but your videos are edited in such a way that makes it hard to look away. Great stuff!

    Okay, I have watched five of your videos now and I have to say, you guys have it ALL going on... You're bright, funny, and totally adorable to boot. I have been hiking trails for most of my 38 years, and have only just decided to start actual backpacking and vlogging my adventures starting this year, and you guys have quickly become my go-to for what I believe is the very best quality vlogging inspiration. It was awesome to come home from A Hard Day's Work, kick back, and watch another one of your videos for an hour... I also love identifying edible / medicinal plants and fungi! It's such a vital and fun skill to have!
    I lead a scouting troop in my area, called Navigators USA, and my favorite thing to do is take them out with the help of a couple other cool outdoorsy people I know, and show those kids how to survive in and enjoy the wilderness... I'm thinking I'm going to show them one of your videos, just have to pick the right one! :-) I know they'll love it. Thanks for all the work you do on these videos! I know it takes a lot!

    I was there May 29 - June 1 and it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. We got rain two days and were pretty wet the entire time but still loved it and plan on going back. It turns out, you can scare away the Whippoorwill's by shining a bright flashlight in their direction until they fly far enough away that you can't hear them anymore! Another great video, looks like you guys are hitting all of my favorite spots in the area!

    • @AdventureArchives
      @AdventureArchives  9 лет назад

      GeneralPreparedness1 Thanks so much for watching, and glad you liked it! We were worried it was gonna rain most of the weekend like it did in the Smokies for us, but we lucked out with some beautiful weather that second day. That's really interesting about the Whippoorwills, I'd like to try that. The sound doesn't bother me much, though, but I think Bryan had trouble falling asleep. They were really loud, haha. -Andrew

    • @GeneralPreparedness1
      @GeneralPreparedness1 9 лет назад

      I figured it out my second night there after a very long, wet day while trying to sleep. Got frustrated and shined my light into the trees and saw it fly away. It took 3-4 flashings to get it to fly far enough away that I could sleep and never came back. I love that area though, we hiked to Princess Arch, Chimney Top Rock, and Gray's Arch in the same weekend.

    So glad you went here. My buddies and I go here 5-10 times a year. There are some amazing spots. My favorite is a secluded spot on a river a mile off the rough trail, and someone used massive flat sandstone to build a sofa and chairs next to a stone fire stove. It's also perfect for rigging your hammock up over the stream. I'm not telling y'all where it is, so good hunting :) (Came back to my comment as I watched more of the video to say you walked RIGHT past my secret campsite. You were probably 0.5-0.75 miles away!)

    13:01 lots of my IRL friends ask why the hell I go out camping in wind rain and snow. I haven't ever been able to successfully explain why, but what he said here hits the nail on the head. Makes me feel a lot less crazy hearing other backpackers with the same attitude haha.
    Also the ability to be comfortable with discomfort is like a real life superpower, and backpacking teaches it better than anything else i've ever done.

    Shamnon M - Can't respond directly to your comment, but thanks so much for watching! I've known about upside down fires, but I don't think I've ever really built one. I think maybe I've sort of done it, where I'll take a fire that's already been burning and has some big pieces on the bottom and try to put smaller pieces on top, but it wasn't really a true upside-down fire. I definitely have to try that out soon though. I hear they last a long time. I've also heard a good variant is sort of a sandwich thing, where you start a fire with small things in between two larger logs. -Andrew

    This was possibly the best video I have ever watched on youtube. The attention to detail, beautiful shots, and personal thoughts about life really struck me as professional and educational. Great Job guys. I don't normally ever like videos but this one deserves it. I don't think I have ever fully watched a video on youtube that was 53 minutes long. I look forward to seeing more.

      +AdventureArchives Heading back for a birthday trip with my family and friends this weekend.. cannot wait to make up for the rained out cold experience me and the fiance had in september... we rushed our packing and suffered for it. X: still a beautiful one night stay. gotta make the best of it.. Keep up with your adventures guys, finally made a couple successful harvests of mushroom samples.. twas exciting. Also been picking up on tree identification more due to the idea of giving the background more depth.. and understanding of its purposes.
      Headin to a spot near butterfly ridge this trip.. I love the November trips down there... something about sleet on the mountain tops.

      +AdventureArchives Sorry about that, forgot to reply to you all... I appreciate replying to me though.
      Just a couple of the lesser Chicken of the woods, and some Honey mushrooms. The sulfur from the less preferred chicken of the woods... definitely understandable.. but can be quite delicious as well.
      Hope life is going strong for you all, Cheers.
