I cannot think of another piece where listening with the score was so comprehensively different from listening without it.
I agree, actually!
Wow! THE SCORE?!
Great share. Thank you. 🎶🙏
Amazing!
Strong mid 1950’s Darmstadt influence.
I find this is much more charismatic than most of the Darmstadt stuff, though.
@@ejb7969 yes, it has its touches. The chromatic transpositions, repeated notes etc. give it a bit more character.
Yeah, big Boulez energy for me.
@@JustinFriello indeed.
I didn't know this work. doesn't sound much like Zappa. Is there another version, played by the Zappa band? I guess "Ruth" is vibraphonist Ruth Underwood?
It's from The Yellow Shark album, not played by band but it's only orchestral music, the Modern Ensemble.
It's Ali Askin's arrangement with FZ's stamp of approval.
@@nikolausgerszewski2086 the original was for Synclavier. The Yellow Shark version is for two pianists.
Hang on, this is ONE PIANIST?!?
Yea, a handful of pianists have tackled it so far.
And more to come.
i prefer his Pop stuff
I prefer his classical
Это для фортепиано в 4 руки...в начале обозначено...
Its performed by one person
it is two or four hands, or two pianos - it's notated as two pianos so it's easier to read for two pianists
As a single pianist, I think it sounds less didficult for one pianist to play than it mifht appear from this layout.
