When my kids were younger I always took my DSLR with us, but even then I would only choose one lens for the day and stick with that, so I could just carry the camera on a neck strap. When the kids got older and we started separating at the parks, I stoped taking it and just used my phone. Now I have a new grand baby and am looking forward to taking "real" pictures again, but I didn't want to carry that big camera around, so I got a Leica Q2, so I would have a smaller, high quality, camera.
Oh that’s awesome! And such a great idea to only bring one lens! Switching lenses with kids running around is terrifying 🤣 and congratulations on your grand baby!!
I love this! I constantly debate which camera to take with me. I’m never happy with my iPhone photos and even though I love my small Olympus gear and how light it is, the most happy I’ve ever been was when i took my 5div with my small 85mm. Definitely got the best photos I’ve ever taken at Disney. I have an R6 now and I’m debating that but its still big and heavy especially with my 50 1.2. I literally have this debate every single trip lol
Oh gosh I’m with you! The 85mm lens is my favorite! I’m heading back in February and debating leaving my 35mm home and just using my phone, but then thought - no way! I’ll regret not having it! My back will be tired, but I will be happy! Haha! Thanks for the comment! 💜
Thank you for the tips. We go in March. I will be bringing my Canon D77. Only thing is I always use auto. For years. Video suggestion: how to photograph in lowlight for the fireworks and how to photograph a fast roller coaster.
Ohh you are going to have a great time! Auto works great! Thank you for those ideas! I am no expert on either - but I have learned a lot about “panning” for fast roller coaster photos - I’m not great at it, so it takes me a lot of time, patience and clicking to get a good one! 😊
This is an underrated video and you seem like an amazing human. I am glad I’ve found this video, thank you helping me make a packing decision for my upcoming trip! - Rocky from The Rocky Safari
I'll be taking my DSLR to Disneyland Paris in June. I'm glad I've found this video, since I wanted to get all nerdy and bring a full pack of gear with us before I watched this video.
Hello! Yes, they will let you in with any size lens :) I bring my small 35mm and my big 85mm, but I know some photographers who bring their 70-200mm lens too! They do not allow drones or extendable selfie sticks, but tripods are ok as long as they fold down to fit in or on the side of a backpack. Hope this helps!
Hey, how was the trip with the R6 and the 28-70? I have the same setup and I'm just trying to convince myself to take it. Did you have to leave it away in the backpack with a castmember when doing rides? Thanks!
@@AlejandroRuiz-br1hw hey! I actually ended up not bringing it. But I had a friend who brought hers and she said it was fine! She just left it on her backpack on rides :)
This is so helpful! “Big honkin’ camera” 🤣
Hahaha! Mine is heavy! Lol

Do you get to go on rides when you have your camera with you? I am planning to bring my canon m50
Great video 👍🙏
I want to bring my camera but I have a big lens. Will Disney Security let me in with a bigger lens?

Awesome. I'll take it and see how it goes haha. Thanks for the reply!
Just leave your camera at home and enjoy all the ridiculous amount of money you are going to be blowing.
