Just found your channel. Really like your takes. Keep up the good work! Rogue One is one of the few Disney area Star Wars projects that I enjoy. The ending was good, but I actually prefer your alternative.
If Vader saw the Tantive IV leave with the plans, he would just order the crew of his Star Destroyer to destroy the Leia's ship since the plans can't leak if they're destroyed and the Empire doesn't need the plans anymore since the Death Star has been completed. Also, I find it a very amusing thought to see Leia trying to bluff her way out of it when Vader literally saw her ship leave 15 minutes ago and knows she has the plans
Interesting idea! Especially considering Tarkin gives the order to fire on Scarif where Vader would've been, along with Director Krennic. Really would've shown how the Empire finds some of its personnel completely expandable, no matter the cost. Seeing Vader come out of the disaster unscathed -or maybe some damage to his suit- would've demonstrated how powerful he truly is.
The actual ending works fine. But your idea is intriguing, and would have been a better end for our heroes, going out by death by Vader, instead of just being blow'd up.

Difinitly agree that Vader shouldn’t see the Tantive IV leave with the plans
