I do feel like this set up ends up setting up Scorpion to have a larger role in a hypothetical third film, offing his only descendant + Quan Chi reviving Bi-Han (and I assume they'll elaborate more on if Scorpion was also revived by him as usual.). But at the same time risking alienating both fans and general audiences by jumping the shark and going the MK9 route... I don't know, kinda hard to think about haha.

People being mad over certain deaths confuse me. Basically, every character in the franchise has died and come back. Some, more than once. You all _DID_ play the games, right? Hell, they've even killed... [wait for it]... Liu Kang several times. [ba-dum-tss] Despite all the narrative choices and in-game fatalities, for the most part, nobody ever _REALLY_ dies in Mortal Kombat. Sitting on some high horse, acting like it can't be pulled off in the movies, is kind of odd, honestly. Especially when they killed people in the first movie and resurrected some of them in this one. Judging creative decisions in a movie you haven't seen, based on similar creative decisions from the games that almost nobody batted an eye over, is definitely one of the oddest things I've seen in the last few days.
I had zero expectations for the last movie and it ended up being trash, as I predicted. However, I'd expect them to at least try to be consistent. These leaks just show the reboot movies don't have a clue where they're going with the story. Hopefully this ends McQuoid's vision because I don't want it to continue.

People being mad over certain deaths confuse me. Basically, every character in the franchise has died and come back. Some, more than once. You all _DID_ play the games, right? Hell, they've even killed... [wait for it]... Liu Kang several times. [ba-dum-tss]
Despite all the narrative choices and in-game fatalities, for the most part, nobody ever _REALLY_ dies in Mortal Kombat.
Sitting on some high horse, acting like it can't be pulled off in the movies, is kind of odd, honestly. Especially when they killed people in the first movie and resurrected some of them in this one. Judging creative decisions in a movie you haven't seen, based on similar creative decisions from the games that almost nobody batted an eye over, is definitely one of the oddest things I've seen in the last few days.

I had zero expectations for the last movie and it ended up being trash, as I predicted. However, I'd expect them to at least try to be consistent. These leaks just show the reboot movies don't have a clue where they're going with the story. Hopefully this ends McQuoid's vision because I don't want it to continue.

I don’t think Cole young is gone I believe if they make a third movie he’ll come back as a revenant I feel like that could give the new movies some better story I mean he could possibly fight his daughter if she gets powers and could give a better story for scorpion trying to fix him after he becomes good and understands what it’s like especially with it being his own blood etc there’s a lot they could do with that plus I truthfully believe he would make a better villain than hero

Ed Boon approves this script , so i’m optimistic . Happy about the cole annihilation stuff , but my main concern is that they give Liu enough to still be the champion & it feeling earned , even if not in this movie

Honestly no matter how any writers try, fans are gonna be pissed off with who they kill because every good guy or bad guy is too iconic to be killed off. But they forgot THAT IS THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE FRANCHISE and they can always bring them back.
