Great questions to ask in an interview, and really great responses from Amy. I used to think she was a really really good artist, and one of my favourite voices in music, but now that I’ve recently seen more of her personality, like in this interview, I think she’s one of the coolest people out there.
That’s probably another reason why she loves it so much. Evanescence is trying new sounds, that’s why their songs don’t sound the same and that’s perfectly okay.
An artist's song doesn't need to "sound" just like an old album of there. Artists can explore different sounds throughout their career and expand their sonic scope, which was Amy's intention since she started Evanescence in 1995. Sad that some people get stuck on only one sound.

Why is it that both of her voices are lowered 1 key down? Amy's voice and this interviewer voice are higher pitched, I changed the sound in my laptop with settings in Sound and changed the key 1 tone higher and it sounds like it should, usual Amy voice and the interviewer voice aswell sounds normal, not all low and weird like in this whole video

(sorry, I date back to that time) but I'm not so sure that the artists these days are not that much separated from those days and their marketing rhythm has now been overcome by their fans WISHLIST due to this hellish pandemic. Game changer. Honestly it is a game RETURNER. Us fans chase after the latest efforts of our artists. If Buddy Holly or Elvis Presly had our era of social media then they would be in the same spot as Amy, Lzzy, and any assortment of other popular musicians in 2020. Serious fans don't care how rough it is, we just wanna hear where are favorite musicians are at in their creative process. Yeah, I know, not all fans are going to be at all even friendly to the offered weak attempt...yeah I get that. Musician fans and serious audiophiles...we care and are willing to listen through that growth process. Who knows, maybe even our own musical insights might influence the growth of a song! I would LOVE to find any reference to an idea I had on a liner note. Amy and Evanescence along with a fuck ton of other artists have gone beyond the pale with their efforts to support their fans during this pandemic and I fuckin LOVE IT! The Collabs that are out there are amazing. I hope you guys continue to reach out and continue these collaborative efforts! Music is about expression. She was born in California, but her having lived in Arkansas for awhile shows in her accent..I'm from Arkansas and I can hear it in her speak..Not all of us here have an overwhelming heavy southern accent,lol..
