    Great Video.... Crushing the competition ... Dana’s, lockers, swaybar disconnect, skid plates, rock sliders from front fender to rear tailgate, winch ready bumper, removable bumper extensions ...
    Break-over may not be the best, it’s still going further than any truck out there from the Factory.

      Maybe if it were a single cab or shorter, but I would argue that break over is very important. If I were going to go off-road I think I would still have a normal wrangler.

      Watching lots of videos, TrailRecon is my latest find, just like RV’s... Storage is the Achilles Heel of all outdoors plans. They have plenty of storage ideas within the confides of off-road vehicles.... Gladiator has lots more storage space.

      Ok both your comments throw me off. Jeep Wranglers dance with the Tacoma for #1 in lowest depreciation. Seems like even high mileage Rubicons are hardly cheap. If you got a great deal, awesome! I guess since this is a "truck" it may depreciate at a different rate from the Wranglers. I'm still watching the vid so forgive me if I'm missing something. On my chillznax RUclips account I posted a video of the"Auto Show", you know the ones we pay for that are basically walking around the dealer lot but inside. I don't know why I pay for it. Anyway, near the end of the video I show the Gladiator and talk about it VS the Ranger. The Ranger had people swarming all over it, the Gladiator not at all. Blew me away. Why are people so enamored over that Ranger!!!? I'm with both of you, I want a Jeep.

    • @rich1958
      @rich1958 5 лет назад +9

      Jeeps retain their value to well to get a deal. Unless you buy it privates off desperate owner. Dealers don't negotiate too much on Wranglers. I see the Gladiator going for above MSRP for a while. That said, I wouldn't buy one until next year. Like all new models of all cars/trucks, there is always the intentional for some tweaking and/or issues.

    Ive been following the media closely regarding the Gladiator. The biggest critique I see, is the price (im guessing the estimates are fair, but we have no real info yet). Something to remember when asking who would buy it, would be that a lot of jeep buyers prefer overlanding to pure rock crawling. This will probably be a top contender in that segment. A truck with real offroad credibility, and enough space to haul the family and all the gear for long trips. Plus its this massive thing that wont fit through tight trails. Very niche, I know, but def a winner

The engine has plenty of power and the torque curve is surprisingly flat if you look at a dyno sheet. Torque comes on quick and stays for a long time. I really love the look of this truck but 3 things really worry me about it.
    1. I actually got to sit in this (and the new Ford Ranger) and ergonomically I think drivers are going to be less comfortable in a Gladiator. I didn’t get to drive it but it just seemed weird to me. Maybe it was bad seat adjustments but it instantly turned me off.
    2. Usability and wind noise. Jeeps are notorious for being less useful than their competitors when it comes to daily driving. Specifically comfort, reliability, and wind noise levels are rated very poorly. Is the hard top (not even going to ask about the soft top) doing enough to quiet the ride?
    3. Price, with the standard jeep easily getting into territory higher than a top line Taco, Ranger, & Ridgeline how much more would someone need to dish out for a comparably built Gladiator? (I guess we’ll all find out very soon).
    Awesome video, keep it up! With the manual and a lift kit I think this thing would be perfect for off road camping adventures.
