I don't think that Jorg is ever thinking about "Justice" or things ever being set right. He is an amoral psychopath who has nothing left but rage and a need to destroy. I'm reading the first book, and while I think it is a very well written tale, I hope that Jorg does progress and grow as the series goes on. Three books of an asshole who murders on a whim seems like a bit of a slog.
I literally JUST bought this a few days ago, yay thank you for reviewing it! It's a trilogy with an extra short-story/novella called "Sleeping Beauty".
Hard a hard time with Prince of Thorns. Wasn't really in the mood for a character so...dark. People have been raving about the next two books and their size is small to enough to consider giving them a try.
I didn't really like Jorg enough to read the whole book, might get back to the series at some point but I still have the discworld series to get through so I doubt it'll be any time soon .
So I have a question. This series sounds interesting but my concern it may be a hard book to read like "Series of Unfortunate Events." I only got to book 5 in Series of Unfortunate Events because it was so hard to read what was happenings to the orphans. How easy is it to get passed this? I hated Orlaf in the other book. but you said in this one you don't know if you like or hate him. What is your opinion. Should I try the book or audio? I love the covers and they really draw me to the book...

Indeed, it is certainly dark and that's why I loved it, but I really need to get the next ones too as I have heard they just get better :)

Maybe give the audio a go and see if you like it. I think it's pretty easy to follow
That's what I decided to do. Waiting till my audible account gives me new credits lol. I want to get this book and "The Way of Kings."
