Using a TAR River Grapple on a LS Tractor- Making the Path of Least Resistance

- In this video I have my TAR River Grapple hooked up to my tractor clearing a path to a tree stand. This path has become over grown over the summer with saplings and briars. I wasn't able to access the tree stand without making a ton of noise in the woods, so I had to fix it. This grapple has been a game changer over the years. It runs off of a third function hydraulic kit that has been installed on my LS tractor (XR3135). Now I have no problem getting to the tree stand! Thanks for watching!

Nice to have the right tool for the job. Gotta love a good tractor 👍
You got that right!
Looks like I need a grapple to my Christmas list!!
For sure! It’s a game changer!
thinking about that same grapple for my Kubota to help move firewood logs and some odd jobs, anything you don't like about the tar River grapple? i m trying to get some opinions before buying, thanks and have a good day!
Heck yeah! I really like it. It’s been great for me and I have put it through hell.
@@TripleTAcres only reason mainly that I m looking at it is price and location of pickup, I can't see waiting 6 to 8 weeks for delivery I m in northeast Ohio so picking it up isn't a choice with my work schedule, but I found a dealer for tar River 1.5 hrs away and I can justify picking it up over waiting for shipping and I see what these are companies price their equipment at and for what I m going to use it for I really don't need the Cadillac of grapples to accomplish what I need. thanks for your reply back.
@jimkasianides5676 how far away from Lancaster Ohio? There is a great dealer here that I’ve done a lot of business with. He’s where I got my grapple. Foltz Ag is the name of the dealer.
@@TripleTAcres almost 3 hrs, I found a dealer down by Warren so it is closer
I have the tar river grapple. Have used it a lot and bent several of the tines. Looking for a way to reinforce them. Suggestions?
If you have access to a welder, maybe weld some gussets on either side of the tines. I had one bend a little and I beat it back with a hammer.
that's my thoughts when I was looking and saw the tar River set up, I m going to make some gussets and install them on each tooth, I also think I m going to get some extra steet and add some to the back of the grapple so when I take it off the tractor it'll set upright, not just fall over like it looks, maybe I'll square off the back like EA attachment does theirs so it's basically it's own platform to set on.
That’s a great idea!
It’s a great grapple and I love the weight. Please add pics of improvements as you make them.
@@michaeleverett1524 thank you for your input I appreciate it, not many people have that brand so I m trying to get some good opinions on it
One of the cheapest made grapples.
I’ve put it through the ringer and it’s been pretty awesome so far. It’s nice and light and affordable. I’ve had it for 3 years. Only time will tell. I appreciate the comment!
@@TripleTAcres Mine lasted 4 months.
@@bradjenkins932 man that stinks. Hopefully mine will hold out for a while longer.
